[Blogs] Comparing Flacco To Remaining Playoff QBs

221 posts in this topic

If any QB is this league is pressured to the point that they cannot see their primary and secondary they are going to be less effective. What Joe has learned is that you do not make TJ Yates mistakes and throw into traffic. Especially in the playoffs. Drew Brees is home because his team had turnovers. Aaron Rodgers is home becaose his team had turnovers. Eat that ball and take the sack Joe just like you have been doing.

Interesting stats. Nice to see how well he does against the tough defenses. I can only hope he fares well against the #31 D this Sunday!

Why do the "experts" keep talking about Flacco's accuracy? He's been throwing some great passes (aside from deep passes where our receivers ALWAYS have to adjust to the ball.) Flacco's problem is moving out of the pocket... He doesn't sense when pressure is getting to him and stands in the pocket FOREVER. He needs to begin to feel pressure, and roll out of the pocket. Although, that doesn't seem like it will be an issue Sunday.. The pats only true pass rusher was injured a couple weeks ago, and out for the season.

Joe's taken way too much flack for the few stumbles that we've had this season. I see a small ton of Joe's throws that are perfectly thrown to our receivers and they still manage to drop them. Doesn't happen all the time but enough that should cause the media to cut JF a break every now and then.

Expect pressure this Sunday Joe because Bill's going to send it. Watch your hot reads and sprinkle in plenty of play-action and we should be able to win this game. Now's not the time to go conservative. To beat Brady we must play like we are always 7 pt.s down. They are beatable.

Go Ravens!

Go back to the GB-Giants game this past weekend and look at the passes dropped by GB's receivers. It happens. Even to the best of teams. It is something that can be cleaned up over time. Why there were so many this season is one of those things that can not be explained. If the Ravens can go into this coming game at playoff level they have as much a chance as any team. The Ravens do not revolve around just one man like the Pats. It's built differently. Should be a good game. GO RAVENS !!!!!!

Is Joe an "elite" QB no not yet but he can be. I think Joe's two biggest problems is going thru his progessions and not being allowed to fully run the offense. Joe is a tough QB to take some of the hits he does and getting right back up that's tough to me. When Joe is we all sing his praises but when he's down we beat him down even more. I've made remarks about Joe (mostly Cam) in the heat of the moment but all in all Joe's not a bad QB.So Ravens Nation lets get behind our QB and the rest of our team and cheer them on to the Super Bowl. GO JOE!!! and GO RAVENS!!!!

It all boils down to the O-Line. When they pass block properly and open lanes in the run game, this offense is tough to beat! When the O-Line gets beat then Joe and Ray and Vonta look like they're not doing their jobs! Man up O-Line!! It goes through you! Win the battles in the trenches and we will win this game! Lose your battles like you did in the Houston game and it's over by halftime. Let"s Go Ravens!!!

You either have it or you don't. Joe doesn't have it yet. It's up to him if he wants to become a great quaterback. We definitly need better game plan on offence, then what we saw against Houston. Why don't we let Ricky Williams run the ball on short down situations? He could have punched the ball in a few times the last game

I've been checking out the pats website and im amazed at how humble the fans are being. Just think we ravens fans shouldnt look at this as a easy game just because their defense isn't ranked high just go in and execute and we should win...

I think Joe can be great. Cam Cameron needs to hand the reigns over to Flacco though, hes totally capable of leading this offense, all Cams doing is killing our offense.

Happy Belated Birthday Joe! I hope you had a wonderful day and get yourself a bit of rest before the biggest game of your life. I know you can make things happen. Trust that you know before you throw.

Our whole team needs to step up not just Joe. Everybody's got to ball out the rest of the way plain and simple no more excuses. We are what we are at this point we gotta find that heart and ball out. You could sense it in the SFvsNO game both teams showed heart in a back and forth battle. Even NYGvsGB but it seemed like it was a regular game for us. It was a home game and yes we were pumped up and all but it didn't feel like a playoff game. As a fan i feel like if we play like that next week then were done. A #1 seed NE team should bring out our best effort and i expect to see a hard played game by us this Sunday with impeccable execution.

What is all the comotion about anyway Joe Flacco is a quarterback in the NFL. He's a grown man he can defend himself. If he gets criticized it's part of being in the spot light, this is the big leagues this isn't pee wee football. After all if you want to play with the big dog you can't go like a puppy. I'd say that he makes alot of money and when his contract gets renewed that dollar amount will go up. All I'm trying to say is he is a pro c'mon!

We finally got a 10 to 15 yr QB in baltimore, and i love joe. Maybe not flashy, but the dude wins. At the end of the day, its getting it done, or now getting it done. Joe get it done. I'm sry but he beat the sqeelers twice this year. Made ny life in pitt so much better this year. I think he will get it done. This D is ready for Indy. bottom line, is the Oline. If they Man up and beat the guy in front, well Rice and Ricky will get us there. Flacco will hold his own if O line step up.. People this Raven team is in championship mode!! Put on the purple and Ball out. We are The BALTIMORE RAVENS!!! Bring it!!

Lovin' this underdog role. Making it sound like we got no chance and we are going to get picked apart all afternoon. I HOPE the Pats are sleeping on us and think it's going to be a cakewalk. And at the same time, I hope that the offense is working like they never have in their career right now. If you're not hungry, stay home!!!
"AFC No. 2 seed. I hope Terrell Suggs pulls up Appetite For Destruction on his iPod and rocks "Welcome to the Jungle" or "Out ta Get Me" before hitting the Gillette carpet Sunday afternoon. Baltimore needs absolute domination from its front seven. Don't let Tom Brady breathe. The way New England's quarterback is playing, mixing coverages isn't going to be enough. That said, the Ravens have the personnel to hold their own defensively. Although the corners can be had, the defense allowed the third-fewest points in the league, and limited the Pats to 23 points in essentially five quarters last year.

Once again, this club's hopes hinge on the expressionless guy with the NASCAR crew chief mustache. Can Joe Flacco improve his accuracy and make defenses pay for trying to bottle up Ray Rice? That's the question."

Let's go Ravens, this is an oppurtunity of a lifetime and we will soon see how bad they want it. We have went into New England in the past and played Ravens Football and there is no doubt in my mind that we can do it again. Goooooooooo Ravens!!!!

I believe the defense had 0 sacks in the Houston game and put little preasure on a rookie quarterback. Most of those interceptions were mistakes by a young quarterback. The defense as got to step up for this one.

There is no doubt that Flacco will have to play one of his better games to win the AFC Championship. Because Cam still holds very tight control over the offense, he will also need to be well prepared. Cam can be complex and unpredictable, but damn sometimes it seems like we need to just keep it simple and do the fundamentals well. We can definitely beat this team and have always had great games with them in the past. Forget these high flying offenses and the pass happy league. RAVENS run the show when we play smart and physical football.
