Dilfer's Interview - "substance Not Glamour"

8 posts in this topic

as i was re-watchng that old special on the Ravens superbowl run on the nfl network, at the very end Trent Dilfer said in his interview that if he could preach to people for 10 secs that his message would be (in reference to the Ravens) "Substance not Glamour." wow!

to me...that statement sums up what our Ravens have been this entire season. let's continue to rally behind our boys and give them our full support as they prepare to roll into foxboro to take on the brady bunch with the entire media world doubting that they can come out of there with the win. we know they can...and they will! go ravens!!

I was watching the episode as well. There seems to be a lot of parallels between this team and the 2000 team. Lets just hope that the same fate lies ahead :)

The Ravens are not and never will be the media darlings or "America's Team" they will be just Baltimore's team and that is fine with me...the most important thing is to add trophies to the case.

The Ravens have to be in the league quite a while longer to be considered "America's Team." The Ravens, not the Colts, will gain their own identity over time and after we get more Super Bowl victories. (It would be nice to have the Lombardi trophy for 2012.)

I've only been a football fan for maybe the last 5-6 years or so, but I spent the first couple of years taking a completely unbiased look at every game to see which teams were the favorites, which were the cry babies, etc in order to decide which teams to cheer for and which teams to hate. The general week to week underdog status is part of what originally caught my attention to this team. I love seeing a team that gets hardly any credit go out there and stick it to whoever they're playing, especially on the defensive side. Yeah, scoring TDs is always fun, but seeing a smug, cocky QB get swallowed up by an overpowering pass rush makes me stand up and yell "YEAH SIT THE $%*$ DOWN!"
