Man you guys are hilarious-our defense won the game Sunday as it did in half the games we won all season. As it did in half the games we won in the last 4 years... ad nauseum... We wouldn't have beaten the Steelers if our defense hadn't of run down Roethlisberger and stomped him out and the same with so many other teams. If we win Sunday it will be because our defense thumped Brady like it did in 09 and not because Joe Flacco decided he was gonna step up and be a real quarterback for a whole game.
We are not the hilarious ones. I actually feel really sorry for you and your outlook!

I just have one question-If there isn't a problem with Flaccos play then why is the entire football world ( even his own teammates) talking about this non-problem?
He is an "X" factor. He is the QB for this team, so his play will dictate a lot. Thats understood and common sense. Its just your incessant belittling of him and closed mindedness that is baffling.

Also, do yourself a favor and go ACTUALLY listen to the whole interview. Although, it most likely will not sink in and you will only hear what you want to hear, Im just trying to save you some embarrassment with further posts showing your ignorance!

Did you even bother to read/listen to the whole interview?
Come on, man. This is the guy who kept brining up Steve DeBerg and then didn't even figure out he was using only part of his career statistics when trying to tell us DeBerg only fumbled 8 times in his career or something. Of course he didn't read the interview. He probably read the thread, saw that the original post was something somewhat negative about Flacco, and posted his jolly little comment.

Two things
1. I suggest you listen to the interview.
2. Do you believe everything the media and people who don't watch Ravens football games say?

I listened to the entire interview several times and no I try not to let the media influence me - Flaccos play last Sunday alone speaks for itself. Playing like that in his 4th year was an embarrassment to me and everyone else in the Flock or should have been anyway. That throw to Rice when he was on the ground was a laugh out loud gaffaw and I don't want anyone laughing at the Baltimore Ravens Period!

14/27 with 2 TD's, NO picks, QBR of 97 and 5 drops = you're wrong! Could he have played better? Sure, absolutely...So could Rice, the oline and a few others. You're laughable!

Q. Why Ravens Passed With Clock Dwindling?
A. Probably because Cam's ineptitude appears to be contagious...
They were audibles that Joe called at the lime of scrimmage... it was said earlier this week that because they were a run blitz formation Joe audibles to quick passes.

Uh, you do realize that that miss to Rice was a designed one-read play, yes? So now you're blaming Ray Rice? The point was Joe was supposed to throw it to the spot as soon as the ball was snapped and Rice was supposed to break on it. Rice tripped. Now you've had enough bashing Flacco and you're making fun of Ray Rice for tripping and messing up on a play?

Skip Bayless is running with it, saying how Ed killed Flacco on the radio. From his twitter page:

"Ed Reed KILLED Flacco on Sirius. Can't wait to debate it tomorrow with Stephen A Smith at 10am E, ESPN2. TSizzle, too. See you then."

Total bad form for Reed. Hell, he saw how the media blew Joe's statements up before the Texans game. They're like a lynch mob for Joe. The team does not need a loose cannon out there criticizing certain parts or players, or even the appearance of criticizing.. Joe's got more class than Reed cause as someone said you won't hear Joe even whispering one negative iota about his teamates - although he has all the rights to complain about the O line and receivers. Reed needs to grow up or shut up.

ps - check out the 4 yr QB comparison on the team's website.

Play nice guys please. Unless Joe had a perfect QB rating there is room for improvement, the D did not pitch a shutout so there is room for improvement there too, There is always room for improvement

Shocking stuff fellas. Why the heck is Ed Reed doing this publicly, five days before the game ?! Only thing I can think is he is gone for sure win or lose and Ray is probably going with him. He clearly wasn't satisfied with Joe's composure under pressure vs. the Texans and is worried about Joe when they face the Pats on Sunday. This is an in house thing. Not good Ed, not good. Coach will be on this with a fire extinguisher and get everything on the table, but I just don't get the timing on this at all. Help me understand fellas, why Ed would do this now? Can anyone side with Ed on this, other than the fact Joe will never be Tom Brady ?

PS...the "aging Ravens defense" quote by the so called experts drives me mad. Ray & Ed are older, but they are still HOF studs that understand the game better than anyone else in fn' football and that includes the coaches. Birk will retire on offense, but that's it, otherwise we let our veterans before the season, the rest of the team is young deep and hungry ! We know our Ravens better than these highly paid so-called "experts" ! Go Ravens !

Flacco's total ESPN QBR from that win was 18.2...18.2!!! Are you kidding me???

All I can really say about this is that Ray and Ed understand the opportunity at hand and want Joe to fully recognize the magnitude of the situation (I can't attest to whether he understands that already, but that's what Ed is trying to do) and play better. Like I've said in other threads, I think Flacco will respond positively to this

He killed him? Seriously? ESPN and their analysts are absolute jokes. Completely blown out of proportion.

Even just from reading quotes it doesn't even sounds like he was trying to bash him. Only time I felt a sense of criticism is when he said there were times he could of got rid of the ball faster. Anybody with eyes could of saw that though considering the fact that the pocket was collapsing all day long. No doubt Flacco needs to and could of played better but so could the other members of the offense along with the playcalling.

To me, it sounded like more of shot at the coaching and how the offense is being ran considering he brought up the need for better utilization of our weapons and how he felt that they were just telling Flacco where to go with the ball at all times.

ESPN's QBR system is one of the dumbest things I've ever seen in terms of sports statistics. It doesn't mean anything, and really it's more meaningless than the standard QBR.

I don't see why Ed felt the need to bring this to the media, especially when what he said was contradictory. I don't think Flacco is Sanchez, in that he won't throw a hissy fit because someone criticized him from the team, but really these are the sorts of things you keep in house. Clearly, the blame was on the offensive line, and it seemed like Ed stopped himself from blasting Cam Cameron because you can't do that to a coach. I dunno, I don't like anyone throwing their QB under the bus before the most important game of his career especially when what's going on really isn't his fault. If Joe doesn't have the game of his life on Sunday this unfair criticism is going to get even worse.

The audio I heard was this http://www.nfl.com/v...cco-can-improve

I don't know if this was the "full interview" or whatever, but it didn't seem like Ed was singling out anyone in particular and mainly responded with the typical "we all need to improve" when they play on sunday. I think people are blowing this out of proportion, ESPECIALLY the media. On the MSN homepage, one of the writers made a BS story about this titling it "Flacco can't be trusted". It's sad how the media loves to twist things to make it worse than what it really is implying.

I can't wait for sunday. Ravens beat Pats last playoff game, they can do it again. I think the Steelers, when we faced them they were 100% healthy, posed a bigger threat than what Pats will.

It's really that simple.... Great football minds aren't always intelligent people.....
Ed never struck me as a brilliant mind off the field, but I certainly wouldn't call him stupid or uneducated either. I know a lot of people who don't speak eloquently, or speak like degenerates, but are more intelligent than people realize. There are many different types of intelligence ... but I dont want to get too far off track...this wasn't one of Ed's better decisions, and leave it at that.

I mean you cant knock a HOF player like that for saying what he thinks.... I just think Ed was basically sending Joe and that O-Line a message... We are close to a championship... We need yall to show up...
Do you really think that professionals need to be publicly criticised in order to be motivated, especially heading into the AFCCG on a national stage?

Pretty sure most, if not all of America feels the way Ed does and he's right, the O has to play better if we going to beat the Pats and win the SB. O-line has to block better and Joe has to get the ball out quicker, pretty obvious. Maybe Ed is saying this to the media with some type of knowledge that it will motivate guys even more, who knows but someone as smart as Ed knows what's at stake with keeping things in house as opposed to talking to the media so......
