Is anyone as stoked as I am? Probably not. I'm a huge AC fan. Completely unwilling to relinquish any of my AC games at this point. Just deleting save data and starting from scratch, over and over.

So, read in GameInformer this past week a little interview they did with the creators behind AC. They are definitely moving on from Ezio, Altair and Subject 16 (I won't miss some of those puzzles). Also, they are not quite ready to reveal (if ever) what happened with Lucy at he end of Brotherhood.

So, my questions to you are:

1.) What time period or location do you think we can expect in AC5?
Personally, I would enjoy something revolving around the Ming Dynasty. Just not sure how they'd fit that into Desmond's genetic-memory.

2.) Weapons and armor?
I really think these should be earned through completing the storyline. I doubt I've ever actually used any of the mid-range weapons after I bought them. I wouldn't have even bought them if I didn't want 100% completion.

3.) Buying shops and monuments?
Get rid of this, please.

4.) Building a guild of assassins?
Aside from using them during major fights, I see no point in building them up and sending them on 'missions'. More of a distraction.

5.) Den defense?
Again, another distraction. If this were part of the storyline, it'd be OK; otherwise I wouldn't be upset with it if it went away.

6.) Other ideas?
I would like to see another Animus user other than Desmond at some point. Perhaps even control them both periodically.

Those are just some of my general thoughts. I would love to hear your feedback as well.

AC games in my opinion is one of the best series ever made. The storyline is impeccable, the open world maps are absolutely beautiful and second to none. Unfortunately with classes and games being 60$ the last AC I played was Brotherhood.

Man, I gotta get caught up. I love the first two and got them as soon as they came out, but I haven't been able to get the last two. and now a 5th one is coming out, I'll never catch up...

I think the next one will probably revolve around either the Revolutionary or Civil War, I think those two periods make the most sense.

You could do alot there, especially the Civil War in America. But this isn't an American developed game I believe, Canadian in fact. The biggest issue with that is the map placements and simple geography. The US in the 18th and 19th centuries did not have a "ring of cities" to centre a storyline on. Philadelphia? Virginia? So I look for this game to be set during the Industrial Revolution in England. There is a ton of storylines creators could play with there.

Ubisoft asked the public where a future installment should be set last year. The options were...

The violent conflicts of the Imperial Dynasties in Medieval China.

The advent of the mighty British Empire during Victorian England.

The culmination of the Pharaoh Reign in Ancient Egypt.

The invasion of the Americas by the Spanish Conquistadors.

The confrontation between British colonists and native Americans during The American Revolution.

The overthrow of the Tsar Empire by the Communists during the Russian Revolution.

The Warlord Battles in Feudal Japan.

The rise of Cesar's Empire in Ancient Rome.
Same here, played the first 2 and thought they were awesome, especially the 2nd.
I'm so tied up in Skyrim, no idea when I'll get to another game. *sigh*

Superb series, I've bought all of them.
I bought the collectors edition of the last one, you get a very beautiful book of artwork and also a short cartoon and the soundtrack.
I think it's well worth paying the bit extra for the collectors edition

I like that list above, Chinese dynasties sounds interesting

But all of them have been set around the middle ages so far so Feudal Japan would be quality too.

Ubisoft aiming for release next October and to be set during American War of Independence

I'm a bit unsure of it'll work

Either way, I'll still be buying it though

Besides, think of all the historical characters they'll be able to include! Samuel Adams, Ben Franklin, George Washington, and Francis Marion. I doubt they'd be able to incorporate my personal favorite John Paul Jones but I think it would be siiiiiiiiick.

Ah John Paul Jones

Used to attack British ships in the Irish Sea and led a raid on an English port
I think it's outside the scope of the game to include these but they would be some fantastic missions

edited for spelling

John Paul Jones was a BAD A. His tomb at the Naval Academy is gorgeous too.

But yeah, imagine Benjamin Franklin designing all of your assassin gadgets!?

This could be a fake image but I though it was worth sharing. It was reportedly sent to Kotaku by a Best Buy employee and Ubisoft will be revealing more about the game on March 5th...
