The Recievers Bailed Joe Out?

Joe should try to be more like Tim Tebow, all that guy does is win, unlike J...wait a sec...

Double standards, a key to any pundit's healthy discussion.
Are you talking about Skip Baseless? After all his mindless Flacco-bashing, the guy ranked Joe the fifth best qb in the playoffs last week - ahead of Tim Tebow, who he said he'd rather have over Tom Brady. When he was ripped about it, he's like "The guy won a lot of road playoff games." Skip doesn't believe half the things he says, he's playing a role.

recievers bail any quarterback out everytime they make a catch. if they make a mistake its "under thrown, its overthrown, such and such didnt put enough air under it, or such and such under threw the football"

Most of a quarterbacks success has to do with the recievers ability to make the catch. if he makes it then its " what a perfect spiral, what a good throw exc. if they dont make the catch its " the quarterback didnt do this or this right"

remember when Manning.. the NFL's only 4 time MVP. Super Bowl champion, multiple pro bowler, a few years ago. over throwing or under thowing his WR's? he looked average like the rest.

recievers bail their quarterback out with every catch they make. look on any replay. quarterback sees a person to throw to, steps up and throws.... and just stands there watching... hoping they make the catch. if it was automatic then q QB would throw, and head down field for the next down. thats not how it works though. throw it up and watch. Pray they make the catch.
This a little extreme, but exactly correct.

Let's face it; We don't have an "elite" receiving corps, so how would one expect for our QB to be elite? Not that Joe hasn't made some bad throws(as every QB does, no matter who they are), but some times the route is not run as planned, or the recever gets knocked off of his route, or falls down, DROPS THE BALL, etc.. Joe has proven time and time again that he can make all of throws with accuracy and zip. And he is developing the instincts to take his game to the next level. While those instincts are developing, I'll live with a sack here and there rather than him throwing picks.

If we had a couple of receivers like Driver, Jennings, Nelson, Nicks, Manningham, etc. and a consistently good O line, the Joe critics would have nothing to talk about. Q is now more of a slot guy and Torrey is a work in progress. As it is, with the limited resources he has, Flacco does a great job and hopefully he will be the Ravens QB for many years.

I dont understand how if someone says he is average how that makes them a hater. I have made several posts asking that same question and can't really get an answer lol. I respect alot of guys on this forum but people sometimes do have purple glasses on and others do hate just to hate.
I pull for Flacco because he is a Raven but I still believe that he is an average QB on a great team... can we win... yes we have been winning in the regular season but our average QB is not getting us over the hump in the playoffs... he did good against the chiefs but has failed to separate himself from the pack and emerge as someone I can trust to win in the post season... we have the weapons and every team has a few dropped passes but Flacco is still having double digit int and fumbles to much... I am not saying Taylor is the answer but remember we went to the playoffs with Flacco in his first year maybe we can again with a new OC and Taylor at qb... I just don't feel comfortable giving him top tier money for average play... he needs to prove it against the Pats and then in the Superbowl to sway me. Let him play out his contract with a new OC and see if he improves before writing him a black check.

recievers bail every quarterback out on every throw they make. whether its tom brady, Flacco, doesnt matter. a quarterback is only as good as the reciever whose gonna end up either WITH or WITHOUT the ball.

idc if your Tom Brady. Joe Flacco. Namath. Manning. if your WR's dont make the catch. your offense isnt moving down field. for the most part.

if the game today was that automatic. then it wouldnt be the "NFL".

No Amount of film study. no amount of pratice. is going to say "hes making every catch. hands down" ... i mean to prove what im tryin to say. just look at the 2007 Patriots. just look at the 2011 Eagles. Phenominal players. record setting players. but mistakes and mishaps cost them.

any.given.sunday.

You do know that there were 18 QBs with the same as Joe Flacco (12) or more interceptions this year and that list includes Brady, Brees, Manning, Ryan, Stafford, Rivers, Vick, Roethilsberger, Hasselback, and Newton.,

I have been bashing Flacco since the beginning of THIS season, but to say our WR's bailed him out is ridiculous. They haven't been getting open very often, and when they do they have a hard time hauling in a on target throw from Joe. Our O-Line needs to bail him out more than any other group on our team. I'll be the first non Flacco believer to say that the game last week against Houston was nowhere near Flacco's fault, he gave the most out of what opportunities were given. Hats off to Flacco for that game, he will step up against NE.

Dude thats all I was trying to say too. I dont get why I have to be an "idiot". I think people who say start Taylor over a veteran QB aren't thinking straight. "Flacco haters are idiots." was posted like 8 times in my replies lol.

I think a lot of people don't really know how much is good for a top 10 QB. I know I don't. I say give however much to him that a top 10 QB makes.

I feel you. I just hate that people say top 10 then say like under 10 mil a year. Like which is it? Do you really think this or just saying cause he is a Raven. I read your posts and you make sense even if we disagree but others just take up for a guy just because he wears purple knowing that if he wore another color they would have a different opp

I thought Joe put some balls a little behind but catchable balls, those back shoulder passes were money (Lee Evans/Boldin). This is in the face of a rediculous Houston pass rush.

3 of the 4 ALL have over 12 int apparently... except for Alex Smith he had 5... but Brady passed for over 5k Eli for over 4k. AND Flacco has the worst qb rating of the remaining... but I am not saying that we should bench him for Taylor... but I don't think that he is the future for the Ravens at qb... bring in a new coordinator let Flacco play out his contract with the new coordinator and start over with Taylor going into his third year in the league...

You wouldn't trade him for Brady, Brees, or Manning? Because of their age and you're thinking long-term? Because I would do it if I was trying to win a Superbowl, but the only quarterback under 30 that I'd trade Flacco for is probably Rodgers.
nah. because of the longterm view. i don´t think that it is worth having a one year shot. we all saw that with favre in minnesota. they lost 5 years because of him...

Yeah, but Favre was like 39 his first year there, and 40 his second year there. Elway retired at 39. Steve Young had to retire early because of concussions. How many 39 year old quarterbacks go out there and actually do something? Favre's problem was 1) he always wanted to throw the football, even in Minni when he had Adrian Peterson, 2) no matter how old he got it never stopped him from making boneheaded mistakes, and 3) he got hurt, he knew it, but he still played. I don't consider that toughness. I think the smarter move, especially if your team has the division in the bag the way they did in 2009, would be to take games off, rest up, and be healthy for the playoffs.

But Favre isn't the reason Minni lost time. Tavares Jackson would be the bigger reason. He was their second round pick in 2006 that never worked out. Not to mention Childress wasn't exactly a well-liked head coach. Hopefully Christian Ponder works out for them (I pull for him cause he's an FSU guy and I'm a huge FSU fan) and Adrian Peterson doesn't get the ridiculous number of carries he got in 2008 - he could be very good for a very long time if he doesn't wear his treads out. Besides, I'd hate to think the Packers just own that division for the next decade uncontested the way the Patriots have dominated the AFC East the last decade.

If joe does win a super bowl this year, I can honestly admit the haters all around the world will try to minimalize the win and take joe out of the picture and highlight the defense. Its a given and we havent even won this weekend.

I've said 8 million a year for both Flacco and Rice. That makes Rice a top 5 running back, but behind Peterson, McFadden, CJ2k, ahead of Steven Jackson, Jamal Charles, Frank Gore. 8 million a year puts Flacco behind both Mannings, Roethlisberger, Vick, Brady, Rivers, Bradford, Kolb, Stafford, Ryan Romo, Rodgers, Palmer, Cassel, Sanchez, Cutler, Brees, and tied with Matt Shaub. Right now Flacco makes less than Lion's backup quarterback Shaun Hill, and there are at least 3 backup quarterbacks who make more than him. Actually, the following backups make more than Flacco: Shaun Hill, John Kitna, Matt Leinart, Chris Redman, Tyler Thigpen, Billy Volek, AJ Feely, Clipboard Jesus, Vince Young, Kerry Collins, Tavaris Jackson, Jake Delhomme, Kevin O'Connell.

http://www.spotrac.com/top-salaries/nfl/average/quarterback/

Note this is probably base salary and perhaps performance incentives kick in, but the fact remains that a ton of backups make more base than Flacco for riding the bench (makes me wish I was about 4 inches taller and could throw a football).

Yea or more wins in there first four years! Wait what?

Most important stat is victories and he is doing pretty good in that department.

Not to say he doesnt have his downfalls because he still has things to work on but there is entirely too much complaining about a winning QB around these parts. Maybe some of us want to go back to the Boller years or something like that but i am not among them.

To the topic: LOL@wrs bailing Flacco out against the Texans.
