Go to minute 37 for their recap of Ravens-Texans. Around minute 41 they start talking about the WRs and their ability to get open and catch passes.

Everything he said was spot on. Ridiculous, how, why John? Why don't you see this? Ozzie, Eric, Steve, anybody?

Yep. I just had to chuckle when he mentioned the lack of rub routes. Been calling for those since last season. We saw one in the play-offs to Heap that went for a TD. I doubt he's run one since.

I could understand him criticizing Joe's pocket awareness and how he has a tendency to "brace" for hits. And on the sack late in the second quarter, he really should have got rid of it, even if it was just at the feet of Q.
Ya that guy was pretty spot on about everything. Think I found someone to actually listen to lol.

On a couple of those sacks I saw a receiver running wide open in the middle of the field left alone and Joe wasn't even looking his way. One of the knocks on Joe and maybe its the type of routes we run but he holds onto the ball to long. If they are not open throw it away don't take a sack. When he stepped up in the pocket he would step right into the defender. I was yelling at the TV telling him to throw it... if he wants the credit he keeps asking for he needs to prove that he can make plays with his arm... there was one ball that Boldin was underthrown and the DB could have intercepted but Boldin climbed over him to try and get the ball... its time to realize people Joe is playing mind games with himself and the media and he is losing the battle... our defense saved us on this one... he better step up his game in New England... or I say we move on... he's turning into a diva QB.

No, I don't think we should move on. I feel if we pass up on him we'll live to regret it. I don't think that's a legit option either. I think he's underrated. He was under pressure all game! I felt like he did a decent job stepping into the disintegrated pocket and evading sacks as much as possible. He would've been 19/27, 200+ Yards & 2 TDs without those drops, So I don't understand this talk of him playing a bad game, he had some miscues, but nobody is perfect! I felt he had a solid game, even with 14/27.

I know we as fans dont like to hear this Joe may not be a Raven after next year. The ravens really may have to pony up to keep him here with cam as the coordinator. I am thinking maybe as high as 12 to 14 per(about average for a QB nowadays)
I would rather keep Rice and Grubbs... I know they are free agents at different times but a all pro guard and explosive running back are hard to come by and we may get lucky and get a good OC and Taylor may be able to pick up where Flacco leaves off. I think He would be coming in on his third season in the league when Flacco is a free agent... I say tender Flacco and take the picks we get... we usually do well in the draft and we could get lucky and pick a stud... who knows.

Yeah Joe looked like he got a case of what I like to call "Matt-Ryan-itis" against Houston, but I cant really blame him when he had free defenders coming at him on every other drop-back.
If so it was a very mild case...

i cannot believe what some people write in here. we just reached the AFC title game and have a shot at the superbowl. we all know that flacco is the first guy leading his team to that many playoff games in 4 years. he has the most wins after 4 seasons ever. what else do some people need?

playcalling against the texans was awefull. joe threw two perfect passes for TDs. he was off on some throws but who isn´t. his receivers weren´t able to get open any time. he didn´t turn the ball over. he just did enough to win the game.

please stop the stupid hate. it is getting laughable. joe is the man. you all gonna see when this lame cam is gone!!!

Its funny that it hasn't really been discussed here. Everyone is a Flacco lover but ask one guy about his contract they say something like 8 per and I chuckle to myself. Like which one is it is he a top 5 or 10 QB and you think he should be paid like one or his is middle tier top 15 and should get that? I have read some many posts from guys like (name deleted cause you know who you are) and others who will be quick to say he is top ten but ask about the contract the say top 20 money. We assign value to a guy but dont think he should get the money. its weird with us as fans. like if he wasnt a raven we would not have the purple glasses on and say yeah he is a very solid QB that had been let down by recievers but has soooo many under throws and over throws on deep balls. There were times when he could have maybe called a play....(then you think man thats right he can't audible) Its sometimes hard to realize what or who is the bad one the wrs the qb or OC

Anyone else see Deion Sanders complete love affair with Tom Brady today (never really liked that guy anyway)
I lost all respect for him when he said Torrey Smith committed PI against the Steelers DB on his game winning TD. I know he has a man crush on every DB in the nation, but he's just sided with the rest of the media too much and I don't have any respect for him. I'm gonna love watching him have to interview our Ravens after we win the Super Bowl.

I think a lot of people don't really know how much is good for a top 10 QB. I know I don't. I say give however much to him that a top 10 QB makes.

Nobody said top 5 quarterback. The difference is not between people who think he's elite and the people who think he's average, it's a fight between people who just plain don't like him and want him gone vs. a fight between people who think he's the quarterback of the future for this franchise.

And I get on the "average thing" because that's RBates' excuse for getting rid of Flacco. He's an average guy so lets get an upgrade. And I don't consider Flacco average. Chad Pennington was an average NFL quarterback. Trent Dilfer was an average NFL quarterback. If Flacco is "average", please tell me what you consider average, because I consider a guy who faces the top 10 defenses in the NFL 12 times and goes 10-2 against them above average. I consider a guy who can shred Dick LeBeau's defense as good as Aaron Rodgers did in the Superbowl last year an above average quarterback, at least talent wise. Flacco is probably one of the most inconsistent quarterbacks in the NFL this year, but I would not consider anything he's accomplished this season average.

Would somebody care to explain to me how this was NOT Joe Flacco's best postseason start ever? 2 TDs, 0 picks, 97.1 passer rating, 5o percent completion percentage with 6 dropped passes, against the number 3 ranked passing defense in the NFL. Don't forget they clobbered Cincinnati last week and made Andy Dalton look like a high school quarterback. They held the Roethlisberger-led Steelers offense and the Ryan-led Falcons' offense to 10 points each. Only three teams put up more than 25 points on them all season - us, Carolina and New Orleans. They were second behind only the Baltimore Ravens in opposing quarterback rating, holding opposing quarterbacks to a 69.0 average (we were at 68.8). Looking at the other teams Flacco has faced in the past, Miami, Tennesse, Pittsburgh twice, the Patriots and Colts, KC, this outside of Pittsburgh looks like the best defense he ever faced. Does not one of these people saying Flacco had a "poor game" give credit to how good the Houston Texans defense is, or remember that Jonathon Joseph is the one guy Flacco has trouble with all the time, and he took Torrey Smith completely out of the game?

Explain to me what Joe did wrong. His completion percentage? There were 5 drops and a few balls where he just threw it away. The sacks? Of the 5 sacks he took, 3 of them occurred when the offensive line was literally blown through at the snap. No quarterback is escaping there. Houston finished with 44 sacks, that's only 6 less than we had this season. Why don't you people want to give the Houston Texans any credit? It's what shocks me the most, that people are so eager to say "this guy failed" that they won't give the opposing defense any credit at all.

First of all I want to say, that if a person can't spell Receiver then write WR. Moving on. The WRs didn't bail Flacco out Lee Evans owed Flacco a spectacular catch because in previous games such as the Charger game he seemed to give minimum effort on jump ball towards the Endzone. WRs are suppose to make efforts to attack the ball in the air.

Flacco placed both those passes on the money where only the WR could make a play. He did throw a pass to Dickson late and behind him rather than leading him when he had the defender beat but the ball hit dicksons hands so he should have caught it. He also had a great down field pass to T.Smith where the ball was near his finger tips but J.Joseph was in perfect coverage to disrupt the pass...

The offensive line had huge collapses in the 2nd and 3rd qtrs. Flacco was stepping back with 2 defenders in his face before he could set his feet at one point. Even when Flacco did create a little extra time it doesn't seem like our WRs do a good of breaking off routes to aid the QB.

The gameplan didn't utilize Pitta enough. Play-calling was predictable we ran on most 1st downs for a short gain, then would most likely take a shot down field early on in the game..... We should work the middle of the field & underneath more with Boldin and the 2 TEs to create mismatches. Even the lions realized that putting Calvin in slot would make it harder to Double him because he has more space to work with....

Cam Cameron is like the Honey Badger Cam don't care, cam don't care how much sense something makes, he just wanna do end-arounds and waste valuable timeouts...

Its just people putting words in others mouths trying desperately to prove their point that everyone that supports Flacco are blind to his flaws, thinks he's elite, top 5 material, cannot be blamed for anything and is our franchise savior. Talk about talking in extremes!

it´s not about having purple glasses on. but calling for taylor (a rookie qb with no experience) is just a joke. also saying that flacco had a bad day against the texans is not correct. he had two tis and his receivers dropped a lot of balls. the play calling was even worse! sending them all deep when you have pressure on your qb all day is not the way to do it.

i know that flacco is no drew breed nor tom brady but he is way better then a lot of abs in this league. there is only one guy i would trade him for and that is rodgers....

Yep. They talk about Flacco like he's David Archer or Jason Garrett, and when we're like "I think Flacco is a pretty good quarterback" we get talked about as being delusional.

You wouldn't trade him for Brady, Brees, or Manning? Because of their age and you're thinking long-term? Because I would do it if I was trying to win a Superbowl, but the only quarterback under 30 that I'd trade Flacco for is probably Rodgers.

Are you calling me stupid? If Flacco can win in New England with his arm I will change my mind... but I truly believe that our defense has carried this offense and if Flacco wants to be the elite qb he needs to prove it... in the postseason... one good game against KC last year is not enough... is it wrong to blame Flacco when we have an allpro running back... Boldin was an allpro in Arizona... I guess the only person to blame in Cam... is that whats the right thing to do... we have won with defense and this is supposed to be the big year of offense and I don't see it... it starts with the QB.

recievers bail any quarterback out everytime they make a catch. if they make a mistake its "under thrown, its overthrown, such and such didnt put enough air under it, or such and such under threw the football"

Most of a quarterbacks success has to do with the recievers ability to make the catch. if he makes it then its " what a perfect spiral, what a good throw exc. if they dont make the catch its " the quarterback didnt do this or this right"

remember when Manning.. the NFL's only 4 time MVP. Super Bowl champion, multiple pro bowler, a few years ago. over throwing or under thowing his WR's? he looked average like the rest.

recievers bail their quarterback out with every catch they make. look on any replay. quarterback sees a person to throw to, steps up and throws.... and just stands there watching... hoping they make the catch. if it was automatic then q QB would throw, and head down field for the next down. thats not how it works though. throw it up and watch. Pray they make the catch.

I saw Deion Sanders rip on Flacco. Annoyed me. While I thought Flacco held on to the ball for too a long a few times and should have made a break for it, I think he had a decent game considering the team he played against...that Texan D was sick and has been all year. When Joe put up 300 yards on them earlier in the year, it was right after Mario went down and they were adjusting.

I know some people here don't like profootballfocus.com all that much, but I thought they gave a good analysis of the game:
http://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2012/01/16/re-focused-texans-ravens-divisional-round/

Some quotes:
While people have been quick to come out and criticize Joe Flacco, the Ravens quarterback did exactly what was needed, against a defense that has caused plenty of teams problems and didn’t turn it over. Throw in several excellent throws and compare it with the performance of T.J. Yates, and you have the biggest reason the Texans are going home and the Ravens are preparing for the Patriots.
and on Webb:
A two interception day is bound to grab the attention of people, but this isn’t the first time Lardarius Webb (+4.4) has caught the eye this year. After a difficult 2010 where Webb looked to be trying to play himself back to health after his excellent rookie year was cut short, the Raven cornerback is threatening to join the elite CB club with a tremendous 2011. He finished the year with our second highest coverage grade behind Darrelle Revis, and it’s that form he’s taken into the playoffs. Seven times the Texans threw at him and he gave up just the one reception for 19 yards while intercepting two balls and breaking up another. With Webb covering the slot in nickel situations be prepared to see one heck of a battle when he lines up over Wes Welker.
I've been hearing comments about this topics from all over the media. But this article is by far the most rediculous thing I have ever read. I was personally isulted.

http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/Baltimore-Ravens-Joe-Flacco-bailed-out-by-defense-against-Houston-Texans-011512

There is a conversation on Jen's (the author) Facebook page. Search for her page on Facebook - Jen Floyd Engel. She is now talking bad about our city. Lets tell her that Ravens fans and all of us from Baltimore aren't going to deal with her ignorance.

***Don't be rude - but show her that Baltimore is the place she shouldn't talk trash about.
