Something Harbs Doesn't Realize Going Into The AFC Championship

23 posts in this topic

Keeping up with appearances, the evolution of pure swagger is huge intellectual advantage. Harbs in San Fran, seems to demand it, watching their game it picks up every week. The special teams specifically, seems to be on another level mentally. Watching them dance before a kick off says alot of the mentality they have, perfecting the mood before a kick.

Psychologically, humans in general are still very primitive creatures living in a technological world built by intellectual giants. And, we think we fit in with them... Communication is the key to success, and many people who lack communication on a primitive level seem to come off awkward.

Our harbs is a baller, but, doesn't realize hes an awkward character because he only understands the side of stalwartness. Only a part of modern day swagger, thus an odd vibe, but doable vibe. Harbs need to understand a pacing hawkish type attitude during expected success is next gen.

Don't know how you gusy will take me, always though our Harbs was kinda awkward, but, SF harbs seems to take it to the next level from our harbs.

Do you remember when Jim Harbaugh was the Ravens QB? He was capitian Comback with the Colts and his demeanor is different because he is an ex player.

Something my gf's family noticed before some of those kickoffs... when they danced (or at least when it was showing them dancing before a kick-off), the Saints would score. I haven't re-watched to see how much it held true, but I'd trade swagger for discipline if it gives better results.

[edit] They're 9ers fans and they were yelling "stop dancing and don't give up a score!"

This is all about preference and the group of guys one has lol. Our Harbaugh is more reserved but just as fiery as San Fran's Harbaugh. But pure discipline almost always beat pure emotion. But a perfect blend will beat both aforementioned traits. Look at the Patriots, they have a very nice blend of emotion and discipline.

with all that being said, our teams has a heck-of-a-lot of problems we must address before the Pat's next week.

Bill Belichick is the biggest "Stone Face" in the business. Rex Ryan is a "players coach" who had all the talent in the world the last 3 years on his team. Bill has 3 rings, Rex has 0. Bill finds quarterbacks that can play in his system, Rex keeps insisting Mark Sanchez is an elite quarterback. Not saying that someday he will be, Rex seems to have this notion that everyone but Sanchez needs to step up. Rex can coach a defense like almost nobody, but he's not a talent evaluator and it seems fairly obvious that BB can motivate his team to victory, after what we saw Saturday against Denver. You don't need the firey rah-rah guy going into the big game. Bill Walsh was never that guy. Tony Dungy was never that guy. Jimmy Johnson was peppy but never firey. Bill Cowher was intense but not firey. Mike Tomlin certainly isn't firey. We have the right Harbs for the team - he is a disciplinarian, and the problem the office had with Billick is they felt he'd let lack of discipline filter into the locker room. And that's also a big reason why they didn't go with Rex, because we see how much discipline they have in that locker room. We have the right coach for the job. Let's see what happens when Jim loses some games he should have won, or when, if he goes with Alex Smith, Alex tosses 4 picks and lays an egg, or what might happen if Vernon Davis becomes truculent again. I don't judge people, especially coaches, by their successes, it's how they respond and motivate people after failures that means something to me. And despite all of the nonsense this season, John has us in our 2nd AFC Championship game in 4 years, and it's against the weakest defense we could possibly face. We have a real shot to win this game and get to the Superbowl, and John is a huge reason for it. I'd say his tactics have worked pretty well so far.

Looks like "swagger" to me. I could care less that Harbaugh doesn't exude it; the players do. He's been a winning coach since he took over. That's what matters.

All I got out of it was that John is the lesser of the two Harbaughs because supposedly he doesn't communicate as well and doesn't have the same swagger. lol ...

The only things I really question about Harbs are 1) at times he's shown a penchant for poor clock management, and 2) he has a loyalty to Cam Cameron that's unbelievable. Seriously, I was kidding months ago when I said that Cam has dirty pictures of John that he's using as blackmail to keep his job, but I really think something is up. How can you be satisfied with the way Cam not only runs the offense, but also the way he throws everyone, including his quarterback, under the bus whenever he is criticized for running the offense poorly. Pancake social? Why would Cam need to go to ANYONE's pancake social when he has an IHOP menu in front of him for every game?

I say the same thing about this as i do about Flacco not showing enough emotion. "It's Crap" It's not their personality. If pro players need High School tricks to get motivated then we need new players. I don't think Ray is thinking "If Harb's would only jump around and scream more we would play so much better". Were doing just fine 4 straight years in the playoffs, at least one win each year and 2 AFC Championship Games in 4 years. There's 31 other teams in the NFL that would take that. This is with Harb's coaching, Cam running the Offense and Flacco playing QB for Defencive minded team, with a run first attitude. As a Raven Fan i'm ready for the next step too. We will get there be patient

This is about as whack as someone suggesting we put in Tyrod Taylor solely based on the fact that he's "exciting."

please don't bring up my boy Tyrod in this foolishness. leave him be! lol!

Agreed. He lets Cam get away with too much.Even when the stakes get by, it's like he doesn't want to put Cam in his place and take over the offense sometimes because their friends.Don't get me wrong, when Cam calls a game plan(i.e. Pitt, K.C. playoff game) he calls a good one.The thing is, those are too few times and John needs to take the rains.

I didn't read this whole thread but its crazy to say our team doesn't have swagger.. We have freaking ray Lewis tsizzle n Reed... It doesnt he more swag than that

And yesterday I specifically said in the game thread that it was cool seeing the defense dancing on the sideline right before going back on the field..
Don't know where this thread was going or went but that's my two cents
