Flacco Stats?

What the heck? Now I know that total QBR is garbage. 18.2 for Flacco? When his QB rating was in the 90s? 2 TDS, no picks? 5 drops?
Thank god he had 2 TDs. Joe would have ended up with an negative QBR. Whew. Good Job

But would you say at least, on this day, that Joe outplayed Rodgers? Because I would.
I'll leave that for you guys to say. I am at work and only saw bits and pieces of the Giants/Packers game. But the fact that, with Joe's struggles with inconsistency and how he has played at times in the playoffs that they'd give Rodgers the benefit of the doubt over Joe should be no surprise at all.

I thought it was interesting that Bradshaw just gave Joe a pat on the back though.

Joe played well today with a collapsing line and some drops. WRs made some catches but they are paid to catch balls that arent perfect. The running game was stopped for the most part. Joe didnt struggle today.

Just saw the ESPN ticker. ESPN just put out their Pseudo rating 18.2 if I read correctly
Yea, that's because QBR is supposed to take situation into account. So a TD that you throw in the 4th quarter to move your team ahead is more highly weighted than a TD thrown in the 1st quarter when you are already ahead. That's why Tebows QBRs were higher than they really should have been, because he was ALWAYS playing from behind and everything he did was weighted higher.

Yeah the Wrs the Oline and the QB didnt have good games and if the Texans had Matt I think they win. We got lucky we played a team who is built exacly like ours but is missing a key piece. The Texans basically handed us the game off of turnovers made by a rookie QB and a Wr that got greedy. The problem is that our QB and Wrs excluding Smith aren't rookies. I read an article that stated that the Ravens have an easier road his year then any because of the teams we may face. I cant see the Giants or 49ers beating us and the Pats have thee worse def. I always root for my team but to say well "he threw two tds" can also be miss leading

I was about to say something about Bradshaw giving Flacco props too. Thought it was pretty cool.

You know, Joe was pretty darn good today. Not even for the stats he got with the OL playing horribly, or the caliber of the Texans D--but because he was CONTENT to stay calm and didn't force a single throw. Every single throw he made was either catchable or comfortably away. I didn't feel like there were any that stopped our breath.

He has a lower completion percentage partially because of drops, but also because of this fact: Joe isn't a gunslinger. He makes generally wise decisions with the ball and doesn't force what isn't there.

I agree that you can't compare Joe to Aaron Rodgers yet, but if you watched that game, trust me--it wasn't the same Rodgers. This is the first time in a LONG time that he got some serious pressure. And you know what? He looked awfully human. He was rattled, made some ill-advised throws, and was extremely pedestrian. Credit to the Giants, who executed a perfect gameplan, but for those who truly believe that it's all a QB and the line's importance is overstated: see the Green Bay Packers at "unimpregnable" Lambeau Field this evening.

Did you watch the drops in this game? Did you watch our stout running offense not convert? The QB was not the problem today but we get that its the first stat you want to look at. People put the win at the D's feet and the almost tied at Flaccos. Will you please watch and understand whats going on.

Read my post I said WRs and Oline. I watched the game and loved seeing my team win with 200 other Ravens fans at Hudsons in Midtown(shoutout atl ravens). The point i was making that stats can be misleading. The Texans kept handing us points and shooting themselves in the foot which happens with a rookie QB and bad special teams. To say well we won is cool and I love it but those things arent going to beat an offense that can put up 20 points in 10 minutes.

wish ppl would actually read posts before replying

But shouldn't it also account for the 5 drops by his wide receivers? I mean come on, 18.2? That's like saying he didn't bother showing up to play.

No you said the QB too. Who I was defending. He had a good game considering the circumstances he faced.

Yea that was pretty cool. Bradshaw said that Flacco silenced his critics today. I am very doubtful thats true though. I expect another heavy dose of 'Joe Sucks' on our local radio station this week.

ESPN is just stupid when it comes to the Ravens. Other then Ray they just nit pick us. Rogers has a bad game they say its everyones fault but his. Flacco has a bad game and he is the worse QB in the history of sport.

Yea, it's supposed to. For passing, the QBR should be looking at how much time the O-line gives the QB, how accurate the QB is, if the receiver dropped the pass, YAC by the receiver (I'm assuming that on good ball placement, they think the receiver should get more YAC) and how good was the decision to throw the ball by the QB. But it also counts the sacks against the QB if they think it was his fault (he didn't get rid of the ball) and things like that.

Edited to add: The one thing that REALLY annoys me about the QBR .. they refuse to take into account the defense that the QB is playing. WIthout that, what's the point of the rest?

It wasn't even a bad game. It was his best start in the postseason of his career, period. Top 3 defense, receivers dropped 5 balls, but still he tosses 2 TDs and has 0 turnovers? In spite of the fact that Arian Foster was running through the D-line like butter and the Houston pass rushers were running through the o-line like it was butter? Seriously, I think the guy making these things up is probably a Steelers fan.

he had a decent game considering the Texans just kept shooting themselves in the foot over and over again. I said the offense as a whole had a bad game. The texans handed the ravens that game and the defense took it lol. Im going to agree to disagree but man imagine if you saw that game and it was between the Panthers and Rams. First thing that would hit your head "wow the Rams just keep giving the Panthers the ball and handing them a short field"

I agree with you he didnt have a bad game he was solid and tok advantage of the Texans just shooting themselves over and over again. I just worry cause the pats man they can put up 20 points in a hurry and drops and lack of pass protection and lets face it OC not letting the QB audible is killing us. You can see Joes reactions like he sees it coming and just has to make the best of it

So your taking back your original post that the QB had a bad game?

I still can't believe this is even a real discussion. 2 TDs, 0 turnovers, quarterback rating in the 90s against the third best passing dfense in all of football, even though his receivers dropped 5 perfect passes - as Al Davis would say, "Joe Flacco had a great game. Get over it."

he wasnt bad or good mostly solid and the offense as a whole had a bad game. i said the Texans handed the ravens the game and the ravens took advantage of it which is what a great team like the ravens does. Rookie QB and bad special teams gave us the game.

Wow, I thought total QBR normally gives a good overall impression of QB performance, but 18.2 for Joe's game is kind of inexplicable. Considering the pressure and the drops I think Joe played a very good game. He didnt turn it over once and really didnt even throw that many bad balls. He gets 0 credit for throwing 2 TDs? I think someone at ESPN is toying with the numbers.

Oh yeah, and TJ Yates has a better rating (33.9) despite throwing 3 picks and 0 TDs...what a joke.

QB ratings are another rating that makes no sense lol. Got to hand it to the QB. He didnt give the game away.

I would say Flacco was good with the pressure and not making any mistakes. He made throws with players in his face and he took sacks with players in his face. That is what a QB is suppose to do in the AFC. Play the game even when your being put on your back. How many QBs make plays when they are being blasted all night?
