Plus ESPN has 5 of those incompletions as blatant drops by the receivers. So it's really 19/27 for his "effective completion percentage".

And the Texans were what? 2 in the league, 3 in the league against the pass, with Flacco's nemesis JJ on their side?
yeah that's not what hurt him though.

All those early drops on perfect throws plus the added load of the suckage of our OC.

Pretty good, if only the receivers could have caught something. Wonder what it would be without all the throwaways when he had 1.5 seconds to throw.

Had the offensive line done their job and the WR's got separation, Flacco would have had a field day. Just sayin'.
Oh yeah he would!
Flacco was throwing great! He played well IMO

Right now Rodgers is 16/29 for 172 yd and a TD. Flacco played a tougher D than Rodgers is. Wonder if you can draw any conclusions from that...

I've been saying this all season. I bet we bring in another veteran in his later 20s to bolster this group.

Not taking anything away from Flacco, but the Giants D is better than Houston's in my opinion

And that's with 5 drops. Just 2 of those being caught would bring his completion percentage to about 60%.

Flacco made sure to do one very important thing today: even with that relentless pass rush, NO TURNOVERS.

Solid game by Joe. Drops are a part of the game but having five in a play-off game is inexcusable.

Regardless, there's no reason he and the offense should struggle moving the ball next week.

Joe does what he has to do to win. Total team player, winning is all that matters. There were some drops but there were 2-3 really great catches too. The TDs, esp #2, were things of beauty.

Dierdorf gives Joe fair reporting. I'm sure that a-hole Loser Esiason has more criticism though.

No way, Houston's secondary is way better. The pass rush might be a push though.

We have 2 veterans at the moment. The young talent will get better. We need to get back to defense and maybe a late draft steal from Ozzie for the offense.

They weren't all season. The Giants' D was like 29th in the league. It's remarkable how some teams can just turn it on in the playoffs.

We need to draft some o-lineman, good ones, or it won't matter next season what we have, because Flacco is getting David Carred out there in a lot of games.

I hope not. Evans is under contract for next season. Even if he's cut, Torrey needs to continue developing and so do Doss and LaQuan. And there's no reason the young TEs can't be featured more.

Well I was commenting on WR's where I believe we are set right now. Our defense needs apprentices at the moment. The Offense is stacked when it comes to young talent. I believe next draft will be a defensive draft if we have the ability with talent available since our pick is late in the round.

Doss needs to play, period. I don't care if he can only run the go route and is as slow as a tight end, all I know about the guy is that he's supposedly got hands as good as Hakeem Nicks. He fell because he ran a 4.6 or 4.7 40 time.

Alright, thats pretty good. Thats what i like to hear, no INTs, would have easily been around 220 -235 yds and 21/27 if our WRers didnt drop so many balls. Even Boldin missed 1 or 2, but he made up for it, i would say.

We have some good receivers, but we still don't have a true number 1 receiver like a Nicks or a Jennings or one of the Johnsons. If Michael Floyd is on the board when we pick, Ozzie better take him no doubt. But I think our biggest need is on the offensive line, where Birk is aging, Grubbs may leave, and we have no answer at left tackle. Our two biggest defensive needs are ILB and Safety, but I don't see any good ones in the draft this year. There may be some second round safeties like Merkelle Martin out of OSU, but nobody worth a first round pick. Good free safeties are really hard to come by nowadays since the passing game has become such a big part of the league. I still think that a big reason we got Ed was because even 10 years ago the league was more running than passing. Now you have 3 5000 yard passers and I bet if Rivers hadn't stunk it up this season he'd have joined them. So passing D is at a premium, but based on the talent in the draft, I think offensive line is our best bet.
