Sizzle A Non-Factor Vs Texans

23 posts in this topic

Sizzle is my man but it seems like everytime he talks to the media (i.e. skip bayless) about another team's qb (i.e. when he spoke against tebow) or their gameplay that he comes out in his next game and does absolutely nothing. he was a non-factor in today's game. our pass rush as a whole was a non-factor. so i say......

shhhhhhhh!

Box score credits him with six tackles (five solo) and a pass deflection. Several of those tackles were right at the LOS too.

He has to ramp it up in the pass rushing department but he wasn't a non-factor.

he actually was a factor. one thing about defensive players that is misleading is just because they didnt get sacks, ints, ff's dont mean they had an impact. I too wish he had a couple of sacks but he did get in yates face quite a bit and made him get out of the pocket. THe texans have one of the best Olines

Next week is Brady time....and I don't mean in the same light as "Tebow Time." Despite NEs good O line, I think Suggs will play well and get after it.

He was held a ton and the Texans offensive line got away with every bit of holding possible. Kruger almost got a sack but he was held big time.

Seems like hes skipping class at BSHU! Any ways its not just him, its the whole D except Webb, Lewis, and Reed. Maybe they told Pagano to tone it down so he wouldnt get offered a HC job?? Lol jk.

He played okay, but definitely not up to his level in last year's playoffs. But I have a feeling that he's saving something special for Tom Brady.

They have one of the best O-lines and stacked the box to protect Yates. That gave us the edge in the secondary which proved to be the difference. If the Pats want to stack the box and let us double their receivers I'd be fine with that. If they want to spread the D out and leave Suggs 1-on-1, he'll get his sacks.

Sacks are hard to come by when the offense is calling 3-5 step drops along with rollouts and bootlegs. However, what the defense lacked in sacks they made up with 4 turnovers and I'll gladly take those..

The entire Texans O-line played well today, not just in defending Suggs but defending the entire front seven and protecting Yates.

It's not all Suggs. For his part, Suggs played well but not to his usual level.

This. I thought the Texans called a pretty good game today. Yates made a lot of awful decisions (I swear we dropped as many INTs as we caught) but other than that their gameplan was good.

Actually, not to poo poo on anyones knowledge of defense, but its a simple fact when another teams HB rushes for 135 yards on you on 27 carries you can't open up the pass rush lanes. You have to close them, stay in your lanes for run defense, and thats why PA kills you so much. NOBODY on our team could pass rush because we couldnt stop Foster, we had to honour our rush D lanes.

Mili I'm disappointed in you. Entirely. Suggs was a key factor in the run today. Arian Foster did NOTHING on Suggs' side.
[/quote]

don't be disappointed. i call it how i see it! all ways will! sure, i saw Suggs in run support. and i also mentioned that the pass rush "as a whole" (not just Suggs) was weak! where were the qb sacks on the rookie qb? non-existent! that is my point in the thread! we gotta clean it up..period!
