Yeah, Let's Take Ed And Ray Out On Passing Situations (Not)

46 posts in this topic

What can you say? The drop by Ray in the first quarter was frustrating, but at least he broke on it. Ed is obviously going full throddle after all these hits and injuries (pray he's okay).

One thing I want to make clear: if you recommend taking one of them out on passing situations, you still have to replace them with a solution. It's a two part deal.

I think this is our year, I really do.

our defense did their job today, even with two or three drops for ints, im very disapointed we didnt get a sack but we held them to 13 points, thats how you win championships. The guy who made that thread is hopefully hiding out because that was a shame he made that thread about taking ed and ray out. Good call

Ya, Lewis led the team in tackles and made a huge stop on a screen, should have had an INT on a great zone read, hit Foster twice for a gain of under 2 yards, and had a huge tackle to keep the clock moving late in the 4th. Ed was all over the field today, should have had 3 INTs, he was playing reckless today within his assignment and it showed. Too bad the Oline couldn't get a single yard on two tries so Ed wasn't hurt on the last play.

Big players make big plays in big moments. We got big plays from our HOF'ers when we needed them, all the proof that we didn't need that they should be left on the field on passing situations.

Yep, Yates is better than Flacco, and Dalton is better than Flacco, alright. Give Flacco AJ, Megatron, or Green. He would have thrown for at least 350 today.

It doesnt matter who you have if the offensive line doesnt block.

Whoever started that thread man looks wrong today. We should have a rule that if you start a thread and it turns out to be just totally wrong you have to then start another one saying you were wrong

But at least they would have caught some of those perfect passes. But yeah, give him the Texans' o-line and he could have probably still had "Clutch Clayton" out there and done it.

Good, I know I was worried earlier in the game when it looked like he might have aggravated his shoulder stinger from earlier in the year. But he played tough, that bye week did wonders for him.

Who else thinks we need to draft/trade for a wide receiver or an offensive lineman next offseason?
We have the depth talent on defense to last for a long time, but the offensive side worries me.

I give huge props to Ed. He was obviously in pain early in the game but played like a man on a mission. Seeing Ray come up in the clutch (like he usually does) as well put a smile on my face. That's the kind of leadership we're gonna need against New England next week.

Well the draft and FA will be interesting this year. We need a OL men (C, T), Inside LB, another big frame WR would be nice.

Looks like we are set at CB this year however.

The way the o-line played today I can't argue against going o-line.

We could use a WR, and linemen too. Yanda and Grubbs are solidly in place. We need a mauler at center. One thing Birk does not provide is a great run blocking presence. The runs up the gut would be a lot more effective with a mauler like Mangold or Gurode (not suggesting we bench Birk).

Oher has played himself out of a solid spot. I think we're gonna give Reid more opportunities to play RT next year. Oher is just... too inconsistent. McKinnie is old, we need his replacement.

The reality is that we need a center and possibly 2 tackles, at least 1 in the next 2 years.
