I have never heard of a ruling like that. If that's the case, I'm pretty broke maybe I shouldn't pay my student loans off.

I never lend money either. I will give it, expecting to never see it again.

This. A good friend told me this 15 years ago and it has kept my life stress-free ever since. I give money with the expectation that I'll never see it again. If someone gives it back, that's cool. If not, no worries.

Just read it too in the Washington Post. Judge awarded him $280,000 (loan + interest). Of course, Wills has about half a million dollars in debt and about $270,000 in assets (biggest being a $241,000 house ... good luck getting that much money in this market). What's the chance Q sees his money? Not a lot.

If you are even remotely serious please talk to a lawyer before you do anything rash.

Words to live by:

Never charge more on your credit card than you have in the bank, then pay it off at the end of the month.
Never pay more than you have to (see above to avoid interest fees).
And never loan money, just give it. If you want to invest in someone's project because you think it is a good gamble, then go ahead. Just don't expect to ever see that money back.
Business is business, pleasure is pleasure. Learn to separate the two in your mind.
Treat everyone with fairness. That's how you show respect.
Understand the first step to higher learning is realizing there are always more questions to ask and ways to be proven wrong. It's not being proved right that matters, it's learning how to ask the right questions.

Yeah, I know...it was reference to why the agent doesn't have to pay Boldin back and to the post about how he could get away with it. Aka CH 7

Play mad like you did in the Cards game. You were a beast and I liked it.
