Why I Love The Rivalry

You know why I love the Ravens - Steelers rivalry? Because the hatred is pure and unspoiled. It's not any of this weak Houston or San Fran or San Diego manufactured hatred. We really couldn't care less about them unless we have to play them. I don't even know why the Texans fans are even trying. It means little to us.

But that pure, distilled Steelers hatred. That's the good stuff. I love how many Steelers fans, when asked today if the loss to Denver/Tebow was the most embarrassing in franchise history and a lot of them said 'No ... the Week 1 loss to Baltimore was far and away the most embarrassing loss we've ever endured.'

As it should be. I might hate their guts, but football wouldn't be the same for me without them.

Tebow is an honorary Raven for doing this lol. Mcgahee proved that he is still a raven as he whooped those steelers on the ground for 131 yards. Get some!

When Tebow threw the TD pass I was in my kitchen trying to put a few left overs on my plate. I came back to see it was over, I was like what!? I was gone for 1 minute and missed the entire OT? Some OT! Tebow played well, I was never a basher but man he took it to the Steelers. I wonder if the Steeler team we saw this season will be the same one we see next season? I hope so!

I really do not expect them to be as good next year, as they were this year. They have some serious rebuilding to do, and that is not meant as a jab at the Steelers..

I love the rivarly because it is sooooo very satisfying when the Steelers lose, no matter who they lose to. I became a Ravens fan because of the rivalry. My family has a long history of hating the Steelers, back to my Great Grandpa who was around when they played even dirtier than they do now. I was bred into that. Then, the first NFL game I ever watched was Ravens v Steelers years ago and the Ravens destroyed them, and I thought, I just found my favorite team. Been a diehard fan ever since. GO RAVENS!!

I was in a pub watching with some Steeler fans who are decent enough gents and they were so devastated I didn't even say have a nice day. I didn't care too much who won because I felt NE would probably beat whoever won. I just relaxed and didn't cheer for either team. I just enjoyed a good game. I did however feel bad when I saw their reactions.

This game is all on Yates....he will make or break us...the QB is the main factor.... so you guys have the edge...at home...you guys have the edge....we have not beaten you guys ...edge to Ravens...you guys are play6off tested ..edge Ravens.....you see a Pattern here? Well Texans do have 1 edge...the fact that no 1 outside of Houston gives them any chance.....Edge Houston....This game means more to the Texans than the Ravens...Imagine if Flacco loses to Yates...That would be sad! You guys should win..but dont think it is gonna be easy...this is the divisinal round..you have to be decent to make it this far....

I have so much respect for the AFC North. (Some others I like are elsewhere, see Dallas Cowboys, Oakland Raiders, Houston Texans) Cincinnati Bengals, even some for the Cleveland Browns I got respect for. But the hatred and mutual respect between the Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers is classic. Plus some tention between Maryland and Pennsylvania...classic.
