Ok This Makes Noooo Sense (Texans Message Boards)

I agree johnsons a big factor but this isnt the same D either...we have a way better pass rush a way better secondary and a way better coordinator...we played alot of zones last season because like our offensive coordinator our defensive coordinator got conservative as hell...plus you have a rookie throwing to him and we have 2 ball hawks by the names of webb and reed who arent afraid to take chances and bait him

I fully agree with this. Houston hasn't had a championship since the 94,95 Rockets and the city is pretty wild right now. You'll just have to excuse the morons.
That will be no problem, as we're used to dealing with Steelers fans. :D

The Ravens have proven nothing in the playoffs. Really? Look at all the playoffs we've logged, we've got a Super Bowl based on the same model and organization.

They've won ONE playoff game in their history and now they are proven? Not to mention that playoff game was at home against a team that folds against pressure.
Playoffs are a different beast. Especially on the road.
No, what the guy was saying is ( and I am not saying it is not a stupid claim) since they have won a playoff game THIS season and we have not even played one THIS season, they have proven they have heart while we have not proven we have heart. As far as the playoff season goes that does make some sort of bizzaro sense, but I do not really understand the significance, or relavance.

Just some strange fan drivel.

Didn't yall play the Colts? Guess you're lucky Manning was out too. If he were 11-5 wwouldn't have won the AFC North this year, so no home playoff game for you. Ignorance is bliss. We don't play Manning 16 times a year. Last time I checked we were 1-1 against them last year with Peyton Manning (and the worst defense). Now you think we could not go 1-1 with the polar opposite defense from last season. We went 1-1 against the Colts this season. There Manning's absence did not affect us being 10-6, or in the postseason. Let's not play the what if game, unless you want to discuss how Manning's absence affected the outcomes of 14 other games that had nothing to do with the Texans.
Congratulations on making the playoffs and getting over that Indy hurdle. In all seriousness, Manning is a bear to get past. The Ravens know that all to well. I was just fine with the Ravens facing Indy without thier supreme leader as I am sure were all the teams that faced them this year. Enjoy your playoff win and your day in the sun. (for the week that it lasts)

Yea Doc drove me crazy with that one. He wants to say that the Texans have shown heart in these playoffs and the Ravens haven't. That they are already proven. That's fine. But emotional wins lead to disappointing losses the next week.

Ravens have shown plenty of heart going 8-0 at home, 6-0 in the division. 4 straight playoffs. They might be eating chips at home, but they sure did deserve those chips with the heart they've shown.
This has especially been true for the Ravens in this season. Which is why I am *so* glad the Steelers are now out of the running. Because IF they made it through New England and we make it through Houston, yes, I do believe we would have won against the Steelers in the Championship game to get to the Super Bowl, and it would have been awesome, but that whole "lose one after an emotional win" thing would have come back to bite us and we would probably not have been able to win in the Super Bowl. I'd rather not make it to the Super Bowl than lose it. I think. I know I hadn't felt better all year last season than I did after the Steelers lost the Super Bowl, and my Steeler fan friends were even more depressed over that than I was when the Ravens got bumped out of the play-offs.

The post. Is pointless Like Lord Raven told them just because the Ravens haven't played yet this postseason doesn't mean. They have no heart because the poster couldn't respond to if 49ers packers and pats also lacked heart.

They beat the bengals whom lost all 8 games this year vs teams with winning records. Texans have a great running game, one of the top 3 WRs in the NFL and much improved and aggressive defense. Regardless of the injuries

But Manning's absence definitely did affect their 14 other games, being as they lost 13 of them. If they were winning like they have in years past then who knows if your 10 wins would have won your division?

You could certainly argue that we benefited from Peyton's absence but no more than the Steelers, who nearly lost to them anyway. So 11-5 might have won our division.

I don't really want to cause this argument. I think you deserve your division title and I would say you're a better team than the Colts (w/ Manning) are, and you have the better shot at being the top of the AFC South for a few years.

I'm just confused about the amount of confidence Texans fans have in TJ Yates against our D.

Ravens (more often than not) stop the run, it's what we do. Yates will most likely have to make plays for their offense to be successful.
I dunno, if it was my team with a 2nd/3rd string QB going against a top 3 defense hosting a playoff game.. I'd atleast be somewhat concerned! Maybe Texans fans know something I don't about Yates! :D

I'm with you. I know many of our fans were clamoring for a home AFCCG against the Steelers, but at what cost? We get over that emotional hurdle and we always seem to struggle the next game.

Emotional hurdles are good for a week. (Which I am hoping applies to the Texans).

First of all majority of Texan fans know this will be a tough game.

Only the bandwagon fans who never watched a game before the playoffs are screaming how easy this game will be.

But we are confident in this team. This will be a great test, and honestly I see a Texan vs. bronco afc championship game. ( sorry guys)

But I wouldnt be surprised if the texans lost either. Like I keep saying, if we play to win and not play conservative the texans have a great chance of winning. But if kubiak does the handoff and check down drill, we will definetly get our butts handed to us. I think its the Texan defense vs. the raven offense.

I think Flacco will make plays, but will also make some bad mistakes as well.

Well the thing is. If we focus in our Yates, Foster will kill us. If we focus in on Foster (which we will aim to do), then Yates should be able to find guys on occasion . A great running game is a rookie QBs best friend. So I do believe Yates will get some things done. But I also feel like we can confuse him enough to make those big game rookie mistakes. Also passing downs, our D-Line will be feasting.

You have to admit they looked good. Even Yates looked good. Remember they don't know the Bengals like we do so they figure they have a good chance at the Bank.

We know who the Bengals are and they proved they are exactly who we thought they were. I hope the entire Texans team comes in as overconfident as their fans.

I pretty much guarantee that the majority of our passing plays will be screens to foster. Most teams have a problem defending the screen, and I dont know how much yall have watched of us this year but our screens are among the best in the NFL. I know one thing is for sure though...our 10-6 record def. does not reflect the ability of this team.

The players cant be any more over confident than they were when they clinched and came home to a mob of fans like we won the SB( i was in attendance). We went on to lose the last 3 games after that. One thing about our team is they are humbled as they come. You have never seen a Texans player in the media talking smack.

I have no beef with the Texans. They're a talented team and they deserved to win the AFC South this year. Their front office doesn't get enough credit for turning the franchise around this season after years of gradual improvement.

That said, I feel bad for Texans fans who have to deal with guys like the OP of that thread who act like they're world-beaters after winning their first playoff game ever. That's just embarassing. Even though the Texans have never made it this far before, act like you've been there, y'know?

Otherwise, the majority of Texans fans are classy, as far as I know. They, unlike their simple-minded brethren, can appreciate the little things since the team hasn't had much success in its short history.
I agree with all of this. I've been posting on that board since November 2010, especially when we play them and for the most part everyone there is very respectful and hold the Ravens with high regard. There are a few crazies or delusional fans, but there are people like that everywhere. Of my opposing team message board experiences, Houston has been one of the best, along with Buffalo and Seattle. Those are the only three I occasionally frequent at times other than when we're about to play them.

i'm cool with texas. i lived there for 8 years when i was stationed at FT. Hood. i absolutely loved the Rockets back then with Hakeem, Horry, Kenny Smith, Maxwell, Cassel etc. awesome squad!

the texans have played well this season and are improving BUT the Ravens have reached the playoffs for the 4th consecutive season, have been battled tested "ON THE ROAD" in said previous seasons. they are UNDEFEATED at M&T Bank Stadium this season and this is their 1st homefield playoff game in years. our fans will be rabid at home....believe that! besides that, our #1 nemesis (pittsburgh steelers) have just been "tebowed" and are out of the playoff picture leaving the Ravens as the only team left to represent the AFC North. the texans are running into them at the wrong time! the texans beat the bengals. the bengals man! and at home in texas. the Ravens ARE NOT the bengals dude. lol! this is another level! they'll quickly find that out next Sunday but we respect what the texans have done.

I watched a lot of Texans game. And I can agree. The screen pass has been great for you. Foster's ability to make a one foot cut and turn up field is beyond amazing. We've been pretty good at stopping the screen this year and historically.

But I'll say this. Reed better be ready to step up and make some tackles on the outside. Texans will be putting the ball to the outside a ton. Our success will be shutting that down.

I was one of the people that didn't think Foster would last as an upright runner. But he does such a good job of making defenders miss and minimizing big hits that he can outlast.

It'll be warmer. High 30s is the prediction right now. Not too bad. But you never know in this area. Weather patterns change so quickly. It could end up snowing or it could end up in the 60s.

lol, their other fans seem like an alright bunch of lads, they're just defending their team, you'd question thier loyalty if they didn't but the original post just has absolutely no point.....we haven't shown any heart because we're on a bye week? Should we have called the packers and invited them over to M&T to throw the pig skin around? As one of their fans recommended I think that guy should put the bong down.
