They are fans. So it doesn't surprise me they aren't making any sense. Their probably trying to psyche themselves up. We will see what their Texans are made of come Sunday.
Why shouldn't be psyche ourselves up? We have dealt with years of crap with our team. Last year we had a potent offense and an absolute defense. This year our defense steps up and weve lost our two starting qb's, our top rb for 3 games, our top WR for10 games, our punter is on IR, our best defensive player is on IR, our starting RG broke his leg as did our best safety. The injuries are absolutely ridiculous and it is a great feeling that we have come this far. This city is absolutely berserk right now.

And Y'all are stuck with the Colts every year too as the division winner.

You seem confused.

One example would be the ability to get into a shootout and score a whole lot of points. Look at this year's versions of New England, Green Bay and New Orleans for perfect examples.

Another one is kind of involves math, so concentrate.

The longer your offense is on the field, the shorter your defense is on the field.

haha props to Lord Raven for actually knowing about football when he enters a debate. dude is pretty funny too lol

Yes. Manning is imho the best QB in the league. It is a shame that his career is coming to an end though. The draft should be interesting. There has been talk of Reggie Wayne or Manning coming to Houston next year but who knows. It has been a long time since this city has had anything to cheer about so we will continue to soak it up until someone sends us home =)

Yea Doc drove me crazy with that one. He wants to say that the Texans have shown heart in these playoffs and the Ravens haven't. That they are already proven. That's fine. But emotional wins lead to disappointing losses the next week.

Ravens have shown plenty of heart going 8-0 at home, 6-0 in the division. 4 straight playoffs. They might be eating chips at home, but they sure did deserve those chips with the heart they've shown.
That's true. You guys lost every game after an emotional win over the Steelers in the regular season. But of course this is the postseason and the Texans were not acting like they won the SB after they beat the Bengals.

Fans talk trash. Players play. They seem to forget, though, that the same "old" Ray Lewis and "mush mouth" Terrell Suggs made their all-pro quarterback look like a third-stringer, and that Flacco and the receivers and Ray and Ricky had field days on them, despite Flacco getting almost no protection whatsoever from the o-line. He was sacked twice in that game and hit a whole lot more, and still completed passes time after time. Now the o-line is jelling a bit more, we've had a bye week, Q is healthy, Lee had more time to work with Flacco, and Cam at least seems to be trying to formulate a winning game plan. Not to mention their hopes rest on a rookie who has thrown as many INTs as he has TDs.
Sure a top 5 defense who did not have to worry about Andre Johnson, so they just stacked the box and shadowed Owen Daniels on passing downs all game. You must have forgotten MNF last year. Of course we have no Schaub, be we do have AJ for this one. He can stretch the field, so I he can make our 3rd stringer (Yates) AT LEAST look like a serviceable back-up. If so, then it will be a dogfight.

Honestly, I'm expecting a tough match up. But please.. stop acting like Andre Johnson guarentees you a win.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1y7Ef11A-10

Watch the "move" he puts on the defender at around the 20 second mark to get open. I can promise you that Webb isn't falling for.. whatever that was.

Don't get me wrong, AJ is an amazing WR.. but if you think the difference in a 29-14 loss last time was you not having AJ then you're sorely mistaken.

Again, looking forward to what (on paper atleast) could be a reasonably low scoring, close, defensive game.

Pacman Is garbage anyway. AJ doesn't come anywhere near guaranteeing us a win but it does force you to atleast respect the deep ball and in turn not stack the box every single down. I see a few long shots to AJ but most passes will be screens and check downs.

We had a guy activated from the practice squad a week prior covering Mason. I don't think we'll have to do that with Johnson.

First of all, welcome to the boards.

I agree that you've had to overcome numerous injuries this year although it could also be said that you caught one of the biggest breaks possible when manning went down.

What's the latest with Daniels? Is he likely to play?

Manning going down will lead to continuous lack of respect for our win of the south this year. By no means will i disrespect Manning for he is imo the best QB in the league, but I guess we will just have to wait till next year to see if we can repeat winning the south. As far as I know, Daniels fractured his hand and will more than likely play.

we lost every game after an "emotional" win over the steelers all the way to a 12-4 record, AFC North Division Championship, #2 seed, 1st round bye-week and a homefield playoff game.

i thought that i'd post this sense a texans fan has come to our nest "thinking" that the Ravens are scared of Andre Johnson...who played in the game below last season:

Will be interested in seeing our D-Line vs Foster/Tate.

I think Yates will have to make a lot of quick passes this game either into tight coverage or over the middle since I can't imagine Pagano not dialing it up against Yates early and often.

Welcome to the boards btw.

Thank you. No doubt the the pressure will be on Yates early to try and mess him up psychology. If we can go into Halftime with a tie, lead or small deficit then I feel confident with our chances.

I'm extremely dumbfounded at the non existent point doc is trying to make. The Ravens haven't shown any heart THIS POSTSEASON, but the Texans have so they're automatically better? The Ravens haven't even played a snap yet, but to this guy they have no heart. Mhm, sounds like Texas logic.

Yea. We have already shown heart in the past as 5th and 6th seeds on the road. Been there, done that.

If he wants to say they have more heart because they won their first playoff game against s 6th seed, well there is no hope for him.

Road playoff games are a bit different. The home crowd isn't their to assist with the heart portion. It's about pure execution.

As i think this will be a good game, i see a lot of big plays from our defense and special teams. Foster has been losing the handle on the ball somewhat and i wouldnt be suprised if suggs force a fumble on him. I see web comming up with a big play on D and special teams. I see us getting about 4 sacks or so.

I think their running game is held in check somewhat, 50-70 yards or so for foster with a td would be something i expect. But i do see a big play or three in the passing game with andre back. I give aj a big td score. But i also see ed reed finaly making a play in the secondary witha deep pass. Their d will prolly do a decent job getting to flacco and making him rush, prolly getting 3 sacks or so and i even see an int on joes part, but i dont see them stopping rice: i give rice about 80yards on the ground and about 45 recieving.

I think we pull it off...21-17

Don't forget Grubbs didn't play last game so Flacco should have a cleaner pocket and better protection. Even with the hits and sacks he took, he still threw for over 300 yrds. This should be a great game.

I'm actually happy for the Texans. You guys have really taken the right steps the last few years, and are being rewarded for it.
All bias aside, I dont think Houston is QUITE there yet. Still a few pieces to go before you are truly ready for a SB. But that can, and probably will, be addressed with one more good offseason from your F.O.

That said, I would wish you luck, but I'd be lying....Ravens time to shine!!

Thanks man. I think if we do right in the draft next year we will be far more complete. We REALLY need a second threat at WR. Andre is getting older and with his injuries we have no one to step up. Our front D is pretty much set as is our O line and RB. Draft another CB and we are pretty solid. I just wish the front office would do more sometimes to grab big names. The offseason signing of Manning and JJo was a huge surprise to me, as was mention that we were going after Nnamdi.

What do you guys think you're going to do at QB in the offseason? I guess it's a little early to ask this, but I'd be interested in seeing (depending on how your playoff run plays out) what you guys do, whether you declare TJ the guy and put Schaub on the bench or vice versa.

Trust me, you don't want the big names. You'll end up like the Jets, Redskins and Eagles. Its Best to build from within and the draft like the Packers, Steelers, Ravens and Pats.

In all honesty your team is pretty complete. Just need to fire your strength and conditioning coach. Injuries have absolutely killed you this year. Luckily you had some talent in the pipeline.

Yeah.People in HTown have already been trying to argue this controversy at QB. I dont know if you guys know but Yates played in a system similar to ours at UNC hence why we drafted him. The kid has done well being thrown into the fire with so much pressure from the fans this season. He's done good but our offense has dropped from 20+ ppg with Schaub to 16.9 with Yates. We put up 31 yesterday but we were at home, the place was rocking, and even though Dalton did well considering the environment, he threw 3 picks. Schaub is good when he wants to be, but people have been calling for his head for a couple years now. He's slow, throws costly picks sometimes(the Oakland game this year) instead of running it into the end zone. I'd like to give Schaub a chance next year with a fully healthy team and see how we do and let Yates get another year under his belt.
