It's a sad statement when the opposing quarterback scores more points for your team than you do.

Soft? 4th and 6 inches, in the playoffs, and he can't get it on a sneak? Is there something below soft? Gelatinous maybe?

Matt Ryan to me is the Brock Leasnar of Football. Has the look , talks the talk, look'n all flashly change'n the plays at the line alll animated. However just like Brock Lesnar with all the bravado, he countinues to get knocked out in the first round !

One wins Playoff games and one gets good stats
[/quote]
exactly. Flacco and Ryan's stats have been almost mirror images of each other through their first 3 years. This year Ryan one-upped Flacco in the stas dept but they are still extremely close. Only 400yd apart over 4 seasons, same number of INTs. Near identical comp% The only glaring inequality is that Flacco has been sacked 54 more times than Ryan(yet he's never missed a snap, which is a testament to Flacco's toughness)
Like so many have said the difference is wins. Flacco has more in the regular season and FAR more(anything is more than 0) in the playoffs.

I don't care about playoff victories because that's a team stat.

However, I will say this. Flacco, to me, is basically a younger version of Eli Manning. He has some painfully embarrassing lows, but you know the ability is there, because when he's on, he's fantastic. It took Eli a while to find that consistency, hopefully Flacco can find it as well, preferably sooner rather than later.

Matt Ryan to me, on the flip side, is very consistent, in that he's consistently unremarkable. I've never watched him and said "wow, that was a great game from him." And no, I wasn't impressed by his comeback against our 23rd ranked pass D last year, before anyone brings it up (that same pass D allowed Brian freaking St. Pierre bomb a TD on them). His stats are good, but imo he's basically Chad Pennington, weak arm and all.

I'd rather have the inconsistent guy with upside than a QB who is consistently unremarkable.

Vaporous.
Matt ryans going to play for a long time in this league, but I do think his upside is limited based on his physique.

I made a post a few weeks ago where I said Flacco's biggest upside is somewhere between Eli Manning and Drew Brees. Yes Flacco has been inconsistent, but these guys were actually worse in their first 4 years in the league. And I agree with you about Ryan. I think Matt Ryan's stats are always going to be inflated by the fact that he plays in a dome and he faces inferior competition - Flacco faces three top 10 pass defenses (the other teams in the AFC North) 6 times a year. Matt Ryan has yet to prove that he can lead his team when it matters. Joe went into Arrowhead Stadium last year, widely acknowledged as one of the toughest stadiums to play in b/c of crowd noise, and demolished the 10th ranked pass defense in the league. Matt Ryan collapsed against a Giants' D that was ranked 29th in the league this season against the pass.
