The Biggest Difference Between Matt Ryan And Joe Flacco

Falcons have a WAY better OC. That should be history, though--he's interviewing with Miami after the playoffs are done. I think that helps Matt Ryan a lot. He definitely has good intangibles and I do think Ryan is a good QB. Maybe he'll wind up with Cam next year and be back down to earth.

There's too much ---- measuring with QBs these days thanks to ESPN and NFLN 24 hour coverage... ALWAYS needing something to talk about. I think they're both good and I would take either over Eli, honestly.

Easy there...

Obviously, there is a big difference. Matty Ice is built for a pageant as Joe Flacco is built for the gridiron.

The biggest difference between Flacco and Ryan? Joe isn't SOFT. The Hawks are a bunch of softees. They might as well be the poster kids for the ice cream truck. No matter what his stats are, and no matter what stupid play Cam calls Flacco is just tougher that Lil' Matty.

The two main reasons Matty gets more credit and attentions are that Atlanta is a bigger media market and that according to science, he's supposed to be the best looking QB in the NFL. No seriously. http://online.wsj.co...3451557884.html.

Matt Ryan has to play in a dome to be successful. If they don't have homefield, they're pretty much done as we saw today. Matt Ryan reminds me of a better version of Colt McCoy in that their arm strength can be a liability at times, especially in cold weather outdoor games. Both are hard workers and smart guys who can make good decisions but simply don't have the talent to execute all of the times.

Joe Flacco, in the media, is seen as the opposite. The guy with the magic arm who can't put it all together and doesn't invest as much time in film study and is slow to process things on the field. Totally not true, but that's what people say.

Seriously? Matt Ryan & Ben R. in the top 10 most attractive starting QBs based on their FACES? Those two QBs have easily the ugliest faces of all QBs in the league, so I guess "facial symmetry" alone is not the best sole deciding factor in terms of attractiveness. You may have one half of your face looking identical to the other half, but if that represents two halves of fat oaf (Ben R.) or overbite chipmunk (Matt Ryan) then I don't think you've got a leg to stand on with this "cute" argument./

I guess in terms of fat oafs, Ben Roethlisberger is the best looking one. There must be a subculture of women who play World of Warcraft and Dungeons and Dragons who would find that attractive.

I agree with Scrock. There is no comparison between the two QBs. It was evident yesterday that Mattie "Ice" melted under pressure. Joe never shows any emotion on the field. Mattie plays in a climate controlled dome. Joe plays outside in the elements most of the year. In the March Madness tournament, they call the eight finalists the "Elite Eight." Just like last year, we're back in the "Elite Eight" of the playoffs. Perhaps there are fans and pundits out there that don't understand the definition of elite. If all of our elite players play up to their capability, we will be playing for the Lombardi trophy in the house that Irsay built from the fame and fortune he pilfered from Baltimore. How ironic that would be!

Joe wins in the playoffs and Ryan doesn't despite having MUCH better options at the skill positions (except RB, where Rice > Turner).

That is great. Did you make that yourself?

The only problem is that it suggests that Matt Ryan actually had something to do with those 2 points.

Joe should NEVER be compared to this cat anymore! UNTIL this dude learns how to win a playoff game...i don't even want to hear these analysts even "try" to compare him with "JOE-COOL" because he doesn't measure up! smh!

SMH! yeah i dont care if he threw for 300 touchdowns a game in the regular season. If you cant win in the playoffs what you did in the regular season really doesent matter anymore!

Joe hasn't been spectacular in the playoffs.

That said, he has NEVER laid a goose egg. Even in 2010 vs. Indy when half his body was covered in bruises he managed to get the team in range for a FG.

Funny how the media isn't on Matt Ryan's case for this. Imagine if Flacco had a game like that. My God, Skip Baseless, Jamie Pukes and Colin Cowturd would never let us hear the end of it. But as usual, Matty Room Temperature gets a pass.

Right. Matty Ice can take the backseat with the rest of the '08 quarterbacks until he manages something better than simply making the playoffs. The Falcons loaded up on both sides of the ball through the draft and FA for this season to be a successful one and it was a flop. A smaller version of Philadelphia's flop. But a flop nonetheless.

Difference between Matt Ryan and TJ Yates, Yates is a 5th Round Rookie QB who is 1-0 in the playoffs, while Matt who was the 3rd Overall Pick in 2008 is 0-3. Even a 5th Round Rookie QB who wasn't even suppose to be starting has a playoff win. End of the Discussion of any Matt Ryan-Flacco comparisons and any Ryan QB debate until he wins a playoff game.

It's a sad statement when the opposing quarterback scores more points for your team than you do.
