Saints Versus Lions Thread

Shades of last year's game against the Seahawks. Saints defense is tough but their offense is stalling so far.

God I'm glad our defense isn't as attrocious as these teams.. It's painful watching this. Lions players not even looking for the ball/ball carrier.. too busy stuck on blocks.

For some reason, I despise teams that use the "shotgun draw/shotgun dive or whatever" as their primary run formation.

I hate finesse football. I feel teams like that should be exempt from the defenseless receiver/ roughing the passer/ helmet to helmet contact penalties.

I feel the same way. Worst of all, the league makes it easier on them to move the ball by flagging DBs for sneezing on WRs.

Sadly thats beyond correct. Then it leads to all the whiney QBs and OCs who feel they should never be touched either. If I was Goodell for a day....

Some of the catches made by these receivers are ridiculous. Calvin Johnson in triple coverage, Nate Burleson over his back shoulder while being well-covered.

I can't tell if Stafford is really good or if Megatron just makes him look good.
That was both. Great ball and great catch!

Definitely both. But I'll say it again, a lot of the receivers that top quarterbacks have make very difficult catches look so easy. If we had receivers like that instead of the drop happiness we saw this year, you can bet Flacco would have had over 4000 yards and more TDs.

I've got a feeling that Boldin is gonna be huge for us in the Playoffs. I have no evidence to back this up.. but ya.. just a feeling :D

If he's as healthy as he says he is, I can believe it. That is, if Cam (fingers crossed) calls a great game.

He's been doing that for a while now. I think its stupid as hell!
Yea he has. I think he's been doing it for everygame for the last 4 years. He did it against us in the playoffs the last time we met.

At first it was 'neat'. Now its just his thing and kinda stupid.

I like the Saints. But if they get knocked out I'll be cool with that. If both the Saints and Packers get knocked out, the Super Bowl is a grab bag.

Now that his MCL has been repaired maybe we will see something very good from him.

How great would that be! None of the other NFC teams really scare me.

Despise all spread offense based teams that play in domes.

I get jealous of the Saints and Packers offenses (and their offensive coordinators).
I use to be as well.. then I think about the defenses they've played.. eh.

Yes, they're very good offenses.. but when you decide to put the ball in the air that many times against a legit defense? You're just asking to turn the ball over multiple times.

I mean just look at this game for example. Neither team boasts that great of defenses.. and they've done nothing but lob the ball around.. yet it's only 14-7.

Oh I made a grammar error. This durn winter break has my hours messed up and I keep waking up late. And the first thing I do is go on here to make grammar errors. I meant "while they're down" not "while their down" But this is quite a game. I'd feel confident playing either of these teams because we have the Defensive guys. And neither of them can seem to stop the run.
