We have a better running game, a better D and a better O-line.That is on top of the rest, home field, veteran experience and Joe. They also have a rookie QB, no rest, have to travel to our house, and we have beaten them already.

Does anyone ever think a game will be as easy as many people think? At least one game has to be easy people.

Sorry....no.

i dont think we should overlook this texan team. eventhough yates is a back up qb, he was able to throw some pretty accurate deep throws. any qb can look good if they have an andre johnson. remember the last time we played some big bodied recievers, we got toasted...kenny britt, malcom floyd, vincent jackson n andre johnson wasnt playin last time. he makes a huge difference for that offense. he can make trent dilfer look elite cause thats how good he is lol, jus like he made yates look elite

Lol @ Yates lookin' elite.

However, if Andre had made a couple plays that he SHOULD have made, Yates' numbers would have looked pretty darn good.

Sorry, I know I am in the minority here, but I have always felt that Andre is a bit over rated. People have fallen in love with his measurables (rightfully so), but he isn't Megatron who just cannot be contained.

Remember, in 2008 we went into Tennessee with a rookie QB and beat the Titans, and they had beaten us during the regular season. We won't underestimate the Texans.

i mean, he made the throws that needed to be made...maybe not elite but he was solid, minus that pass to crocker that almost got picked... but he was shootin some lasers out there. im sayin andre had a lot to do with what success he had today. that double move late in the game was was crucial

And what are we, 6-0 against teams in the playoffs?
Yup. Undefeated against every playoff team we've faced this season. Why do we always have 1:00 games in the playoffs? So annoying. I want a night game this year

Won't happen, because the AFC Championship game is scheduled at 3:00PM, so on the positive side it will end at night lol.

Yates doesn't have to be elite to be a threat to our secondary, ESPECIALLY with Andre Johnson back there. This Houston team is no laughing matter.

That said I think we should win comfortably. I'd be a lot more worried if we were on the road.

Great a whole week of hearing how much Yates is gonna suck next week...

Meanwhile hes managed to look fairly well in his games this year...and his team plays a lot likes ours...good defense and rush the ball..

Guys as Ravens fans we should know QBs don't need to do much to take their team out of stadiums with W's

So please can we not have a week of haha Yates welcome to Baltimore get ready to have this type of game blah blah blah...please please
Thank you. This is not going to be an easy game. Yates has played very well thus far and has The Beast AJ back and he will be a tough cover as always. However we did a very good job against a good receiver in AJ Green last time around so I'm confident. Plus I'm sure Pagano will come up with a good scheme.

Just please, no more of this guaranteed talk. There is no such thing

They just blew out the Bengals who we had trouble against last week. I know we'll win this but people are overlookin this like it will be a cake walk, kinda like steelers/broncos as well
We didn't really have trouble with them until we started losing half our team to injuries. We were fighting just to get 11 men on the field the 2nd half of that game. Our guys also dropped 3 certain INTs. Hope they're working on ball skills, defensive players or not! lol

Hello guys. Texans fan here. I just wanted to hear your thoughts on the game on Sunday.

We are coming off a blowout win against a slightly above average team. We held them to 10 points Yates got a few critical third down completions and Foster tore them up. I know they aren't even close to your defense but I think your offense is easier for us to defend against then theirs because our strength is stopping the run and your whole offense is an inconsistent QB and and a very good RB which plays right into our hands. So I'm not worried about your offense in a traditional drive, what I am worried about is your defense against Yates. Because if you can shut down Foster than Yates will have to play a great game against that monster Ed Reed.

That Houston D-line is scary, and Andre Johnson gave us fits last year in Houston... not to mention Arian Foster and Ben Tate are beasts. We're in for a tough fight, but one we can win at Home.

Jeez. I was thinking that most people on here wouldnt be getting on the high horse and crowning our team with the victory.. The Texans did look like a really solid football team yesterday. We can definately beat them, but you guys do remember the Seahawks, Jaguars, and Titans right? Dont couny anyone out, especially in the playoffs.

Texans have never beat the Ravens in the history of their franchise. That 'inconsistent QB' hasn't had trouble moving the ball and putting up points against Houston.
Basically, we are going to focus on shutting down Foster and force Yates to beat us in our house.
So...I really dont think that the Ravens are as favorable a matchup for the Texans as you seem to think.

Well, my thoughts are this:

That RB you aren't worried about had over 100 yds rushing on your D when we met earlier in the season.

That inconsistent QB you don't give any credit to (btw, he has the most wins in his first 4 years of any QB in the history of the NFL, not too shabby for being so inconsistent hey? ) passed for over 300 yds versus your defense.

You guys looked good yesterday but sorry to inform you the Bengals are nowhere near our defense and well, they don't nickname them the Bungles for nothing.

Should be a good game I'm thinking. We are a different animal at home. Nothing against you guys, but frankly, I don't see anyone coming into our house and leaving with a win. Your ST unit is better than ours, but overall we have more talent and more experience. Oh, and Suggs loves to welcome rookie QBs. It's kind of his thing.

Hmm...some interesting comments over on the Texans boards...a lot of them seem to think that they are going to come in here and rip us a new one.

My thoughts are that the Ravens play in the most talented and ferocious divison in the NFL. We swept it, and sitting on a bye.

The Texans won the weakest division in football (two of their teams fighting for the #1 overall pick in week 17??).

All I can say is, swept our division, undefeated at home, and we are coming off a bye week.

Houston, we have a problem!

That's too bad. The Texans were the only non-Ravens team in the AFC that I could stand. I guess they're just hopped up on first ever playoff win syndrome.

It's so hilarious reading their boards. Some of them are even talking about them being the best team in the AFC now, all because they beat the mighty Bengals on their home field. It's cute that they've won their first ever playoff game, but my goodness, the delusion.

I don't think this game will be a cakewalk, but if (HUGE if) our OL can handle their pass rush I think we win. Last time we played without Grubbs, Flacco was getting HAMMERED, and he still threw for over 300 yards. I'm cautiously optimistic.

A lot has changed since week 6 so I don't put much stock into that for this week. Players change, coaching changes, game film changes, outside factors change. So individual players being in or out compared to last time doesn't mean much to me. Obviously Schaub was a big loss for the Texans but their entire team philosophy changed around that loss to make up for some of it.

Have to parrot everyone else. Welcome here, glad to have you come and talk to us--but your assessment is WAY off. Flacco has not been wildly inconsistent. He's had a COUPLE of subpar games, but generally his stats aren't ridiculous because he doesn't force throws, he's more than happy to throw it away, and we don't need him to air it out 50+ times. We don't play to get him stats; he plays as a team player and as a part of the plan. That's why he is the winningest QB ever over his first 4 years.

Several teams we have encountered are as adept at stopping the run as you are. Ray Rice is a different animal. You should have seen that in the first encounter when he went 23 carries for 101. On the other hand, Arian Foster got stuffed for under 50. Boldin tore your secondary apart, and he's back and healthy--and eager to play in this one. Torrey Smith has developed into a lot more than just a deep threat, and Pitta has emerged as a very solid route runner with a tremendous pair of hands. With all our receivers healthy, we have weapons all over that I am more than confident in. Generally four receivers on the field at any time who can make a play, and Rice as a fifth one (and if you aren't covering Ray Rice on passing plays, he'll tear you up).

That Baltimore atmosphere that gave the Texans offense fits? It's gonna be times five on Sunday.

I absolutely admire what you've done this season, and the character it showed to do what you've done with your third string QB--but I just don't see you (or anyone else, to be fair) coming into M&T and winning the game. Everyone says their stadium is hostile. This is another animal.

Ravens stuffing the run is a given. Webb on AJ, I'm not too worried about. He doesn't look like his usual self since that injury. Was downright ugly at times yesterday. Yates to someone like Owen Daniels or Jacoby Jones would have to be the avenue you took to score enough points for the W. So I'm basically saying that Jacoby Jones would have to have around 150 yards for that to happen. Think there's much chance? I don't either.

On defense, if your strategy is to overload against the run and make Joe Flacco beat you, we'll take that any day of the week. Ask Pittsburgh if making Joe Flacco beat you is a good strategy.

Special teams could also be your wild card, though. We SUCK at covering kicks. Anyways, welcome and we're always happy to shoot the bull before kickoff!
