Is Mastodon a band with a label and some fame yet? You say they are local to Rochester, so im wondering if ill be able to get them down here. What style are they?
Yes they have fame and they are on iTunes. They are like new metal. They do their own kinda thing... Sometimes they sound rough and then sometimes there more melodic.
Lol, thats basically every metal band. Melodius some and rough other times.

Stryper put an album out a week ago today. Its called the covering, and it has a lot of good covers on it. The one I thought would catch you eye was a cover of Iron Maiden's The Trooper. Its pretty raw. Check out the album

Songs are:
1. Set Me Free (Sweet)
2. Blackout (Scorpions)
3. Heaven and Hell (Black Sabbath)
4. Lights Out (UFO)
5. Carry on My Wayward Son (If you dont know this you are pathetic)
6. Highway Star (Deep Purple)
7. Shout it out Loud (Kiss)
8. Over the Mountain (Ozzy)
9. The Trooper
10. Breaking the Law (Judas Priest)
11. On Fire (VH)
12. Immigrant Song (Zep)
13 God (Stryper)

Its a great album.

J. C. Is the man. Cocaine Blues might just be one of the best songs ever written if the Beastie Boys didn't rule SUPREME.

Been listening to the leaked new Springsteen album, Wrecking Ball. I'm a HUGE Springsteen fan, so I'm biased, but I love it. It's not for everyone. Lots of gospel and Celtic influences, there's even a track that has a rap verse (thankfully, Bruce does not do the rapping LOL).

The star of the show is "Death to My Hometown" IMO. I think it's the best Springsteen song in years. I'm seeing him in Greensboro, NC on March 19th and I really can't wait to hear this song live.

That man was meant to be seen live. Have fun!
No doubt about that. This will make the 4th time I've seen him and he always brings it. The last time I got general admission tickets for the first time and got lucky with the lottery and ended up about 3 or 4 rows back from the stage. It was amazing. Hoping for similar luck this go around, but I'll have a blast wherever I end up.

Yeah. Its a pretty dang cool album. And its neat to hear these songs with Michael Sweets more operatic voice. The cover of On Fire is awesome. Its definitely a worthwhile album. Stryper is actually doing the monsters of rock cruise here in Ft. Lauderdale Florida with Cinderella, UFO, and a few other hair metal guys. Im trying to get tickets.

Im not actually familiar with UFO. But it sounds like it will be a great cruise. Its funny that they gain popularity 30 years after they started lol. But they have some really good stuff out in the 2000s

I know, which is why I am excited for the new Crue album. Although I read a quote from Nikki who said that the band always agreed to go out on top, and so they will probably only stay together a little longer :( Have you listened to any Sixx AM? Im curious. but considering Nikki's disturbing mind Im afraid to go there yet.

Oh yeah I love all era's of music. I kick it as old school as The Ink Spots from the 1930's and 1940's. I have them, Bob Crosby and the Bobcats, Jack Shaindlin, CCR and even The Doors on my Cool Down playlist for when I'm riding the bike. When I'm going full speed, I only go as far back as the 80's, but it's mostly modern rock.

I cant agree with you on all of these, but CCR is one of my favorites. I have a shirt with John, Tom, Doug, and Stu standing together. As I write this I am listening to my favorite song of theirs. Hello Mary Lou.
