Trade Ray Lewis Now!

49 posts in this topic

If the Ravens are not going to re-sign R. Lewis, do you think we should trade him now for multiple draft picks or multiple player's to include a Big Time WR?

Whatever. Contracts are to be dealt with during the offseason, not the middle of the season. There is no benefit to trading Ray, right now. And thats all that matters.

Like I said before, defense coordinators come and go, but Ray Lewis is a constant. If we want to make sure our defense remains dominant, we probably want to have Ray Lewis remain a Raven (whether its as a player, coach or some front office position). I'm not saying we can't be dominant without him, but he does define our team and what we stand for.

Hopefully he isn't looking for an insanely huge contract and would like to finish his career as a Raven. I have no idea what Ray really wants, because I'm not his best friend (or any sort of friend for that matter).

Dude, no one is giving any "TOP" WR for a guy who is 33 or something, and they would only be renting him for like 10 games. We will re sign him, although i think suggs is more necessary this year.... thats beyond the point, either he will stay or go, but it wont be during the season.

Just calm down, and watch Ray play this season

NO!!! Ray is the heart of this team.. HE'S LIKE THE FACE OF BALTIMORE. I'd rather have Ray than SUGGS!!!! & Honestly.. Ray is ALWAYS all over the feild.. he is there EVERY TACKLE every PLAY. he's part of our indimation. Ravens will re-sign him soon enough.

So do u think we will have to let both Suugs and Scott go after this season. Suggs said last night on his show that the Raven's should first sign Ray Lewis and then do what they can to keep the other 2. With in the next few years someone is going to have to take 52's place and next year someone may have replace both Suugs and Scott. Suggs is a beast there is no doubt about that and I like him better at the LB position rather than DE. Scott on the other hand, I like his personallity and energy but I think he is a product of his enviroment(Ed Hartwell like). The question now maybe who will replace these 2 in our defense? I want Ray to stay forever like all Raven's fan but at the end of the day if a decision is not in the best interest of the team then it does the team no good. So will it be easier to replace 1 guy or 2 guys.

Okay,GOOD POINT. But in ALL honesty.. I dont see Ray going anywhere. I like Scott too.. and he occasinaly makes good plays. but these past couple games he has missed quite a few. I just DONT think that losing Ray can be in ANY interest of this Ravens team.. He goes out and PUTS IT ALL on the feild.. every game EVERY PLAY he's like the freakin face of Baltimore. I hope they can figure out a deal with all three at the end of at least THIS season.. I can easily see us going to the Superbowl next seaon with a decent season under our belts and a good offesensive outlook

He's so much more of a NFL superstar and the face of Baltimore. On the field, he's the dude who keeps our defense up and running. Imagine our defense without him, remember when he went down in the dolphin's game last year? Yeah.. that

No point to trade Him, He will not make the Ravens spend a huge contract on Him,He just wants to be competitive.

The jerks on ESPN were talking about how he's suddenly playing so well during a contract year, as if he only has the heart to play hard for Baltimore when money's in his eyes. It's more about the emergence of Haloti Ngata that's responsible for Ray's awesome play lately, if it was anything other than his simply being a BA.

I dont think anybody can criticize Marc2k6 of not being a true Ravens fan, look at his tattoo, for a few hours he actually bled purple.

The point is at some point we have to start investing for the future. It wont happen this year but if you even at 33 his name alone would get huge interest. Add to that his stellar play so far this year someone like the Broncos or Lions would happily sell their souls to shore up the run D.

The reality is it probably wont happen, at least not this year.

Ray is just not a player, he's also a leader who brings more to the game even if he is just playing this year "for a contract".

thats just crazy trading ray!! the ravens should hope that when he retires from playing that he gets hired as a coach.
Ray will always be a raven(he bleeds purple) and he will go down in ravens history as one of the greatest mark my words

This organization knows what Ray means to this team, and this city, but lets be realistic. Ray wants another big pay day, and claims he can play for another 5 years, realistically he can pull 3 off, and if he can pull 5 off he won't be the same Ray as he is this season. If he is asking for big big money this organization cannot keep Bart Scott, Terrell Suggs.
