One Small Negative About A Playoff First Week Bye...

Lack of media coverage...all the big stations are talking about the wildcard teams...however I know come Monday Morning with only 8 teams being left...we'll hear the Ravens name quite a lot...

Now the positives: we get a home playoff game, people get healthy, Q and Evans can work a lot on their timing with Flacco, we have 2 weeks to prepare for an opponent instead of one (even though we have to prepare for two teams this week).

Btw, getting the media's attention during a bye week is almost always a bad thing!

Typo for "rest" that appeared someone's thread about which jerseys the team should wear for the playoffs being more important than the bye week or something to that effect. Also don't forget smallow.

Who on earth gives two craps about getting media coverage? Does that really matter? At all?

I'd be more concerned about being "rusty" going into divisional week. Will we be rusty? I don't know, but I'd be more concerned about that than silly media coverage.

One of the main advantages of having the bye is being able to scout your opponents postseason gameplan before playing them. Yea, for the most part, teams scheme will stay the same as they were in the regular season but it definitely will be some different twist and turns in there as far as the play calling and schemes. We have some of the best flim study players in the business and having that extra footage of game film to scout can make a world of a difference.

The pluses of a bye week far outweigh the minuses. No debating that. The big thing around this time of year is that everyone is banged up on every team in general. A week of rest over an opponent that has had none and then must come into hostile territory is a good foundation to build a victory on.

We will get plenty of attention once we find out who we will be playing and hopefully even more if we get to the superbowl.

I love they aren't talking about us. Why would they? we aren't playing this week. Let a team come in here with their high off of a victory and get worked by a team that went 8-0 at home and 6-0 vs playoff teams.

Also, I don't believe in "momentum games" meaning teams who win this week have momentum to beat teams who had bye. we have never lost a game after a bye with John Harbaugh. Or should I say Joe Flacco because I forgot thats how half of you fans acknowledge wins these days....
