BALTIMOREFLACCO

Ray Rice Stat
Over the past two seasons (including playoffs), the Ravens are 20-1 (.952) when Rice gets at least 20 touches. They are 5-8 (.385) when he doesn't.
Blows my mind that those 13 times even happened. The man better see the rock come the divisional round and going forward....

Like I've said in a most recent post: The formula to win isn't hard...keep feeding Ray the ball and let the o-line & Vonta Leach work their magic. The d line will wear down and Leach will blow up LBs.

Look at the pass vs. rice carries in our losses:
Pass heavy in TEN (32 pass attempts vs. 13 Rice carries) and abysmal showing from our D; Pass heavy in JAC with good defensive performance (38 pass attempts vs. 8 Rice carries); Pass heavy in SEA (52 pass attempts vs 5 Rice carries), and for SD (34 passes vs. 10 Rice carries).

Thats a nice stat and all, but Flacco throwing the ball 50+ times a game gives the fans more to talk about on 105.7 the fan. And thats what its all really about....

Rest, rest, rest, o-line.
O-line then push our opponent backwards to let Rice pound it and control the tempo of the game.

It's true but we need to mix it up; when they put extra LBs to stop Rice, Joe needs to identify and switch to play action or quick pass to Torrey to the outside. Rice does need 25 carries but those carries shouldn't be carried out with predictable format like run run and pass all the time: you can go pass, run, and pass, run, pass, and pass, run, run, and pass, or pass, pass, and pass. As long as you make the opposing defense guessing what your next move is.

PS: Cam, I will praise you with love if you, just once in the lifetime, adjust your playcallings based the given defense and give Flacco more freedom on hurdle offense throughout the playoffs.

Looking at this, Flacco is a monster. We just need to throw the football, he is killing the league.....lol Just give it to Ray Rice the real leader of this offense.

Our offense seems to work better and gel when Joe can complement Rice's running, which includes play action. I want to see more attempts to isolate Rice as a receiver, even on screens, because he has such a burst he can demoralize an opponent. Our defense can then put maximum pressure on an offense to have to score.
