Wow! What A Match That Was On Sunday!

30 posts in this topic

Well its official, I am Hooked! Sundays game was such a nail biter, the last few seconds of the game with both teams in the ravens endzone fighting for the ball, it was reminiscent of and ancient battle! What an epic finish!
As a new fan to the sport all I can say is " Go ravens Go!"

Sorry to post this in the questions thread but I just had to share my excitement for the game.
On that note could anyone please tell me when I will be allowed to start my own topics in other sections of the forums?

Corvidvxv, you'll need 15 posts before you can start threads elsewhere. However, I moved this thread into the Ravens section. Welcome to the community!

As for the game, I don't think I will need to cut my nails for a few more weeks...

Love to see such enthusiasm!

Just an FYI, in the US, we don't call football games 'matches'...we just call it a game.

Welcome indeed! Love meeting folks when I'm overseas who love the Ravens! Come on down to Baltimore for a taste of the REAL America and don't forget to stop in on the beautiful Eastern Shore, just over the bridge, for the greatest part of the earth that God ever created :)

It's only my first year here so I'm not entirely sure but since it's a slow day (seeing as we have the bye), I'm sure no one will mind much! Looks like a very peaceful place--being by the water is what Maryland and even parts of Virginia (I live opposite the border to MD on the Eastern Shore, so culturally we're closer to them than mainland VA) is all about! Come down, check it out, and you'll love being in a part of the world that eats, sleeps, breathes and REVOLVES around the Ravens! It's a way of life here!

Next time I'm in the Isles I'll have to pop up over there. Haven't been to Wales before. I've always heard how beautiful it was. Again, welcome and we're glad to have you on board with the best team, community, and fans in football!

I'm just curious, what are your reasons for being a fan of the Ravens? Is it because we have such great players? From what I've seen, Ray Rice and Ngata are really popular with fans of football in general, and of course Ed Reed.

Spent a few months away for aircraft training in Ft. Lauderdale, and as beautiful as that was, there's no place like it! Gotta get back here for the playoffs, too!

hey mili. i never knew you spent time in germany. i am from germany. i am proud to be a ravens fan. the funny thing is: i really liked both ravens and steelers before i got a member of the board in here. but now i really hate them. i hate their fans. i hate big ben and god knows i hate hines ward. never the less i respect all of them.

you gotta tell me where exactly you have been in my country...

I think it's funny that you refer to games as "matches" but nevertheless I agree with you and welcome you as a fan of this great team in this great game we get to watch every Sunday. These playoffs will be spectacular

Ok my story goes something like this. My granddad was from the US (Chicago) and always used to mention Football when i used to watch Rugby on the TV, Back in those days there was no internet or cable TV as we know it now so all I knew about the game was what my granddad told me as there was no way to watch football.
Many years later I had access to some games but only a few. The first big game I watched was The Bears at the Super bowl. Just loved the "Fridge" in action. what an eye opener to football that game was.
Since that time I have not had a chance to follow the game until the last few months, but have now forsaken Rugby and Soccer and cant wait to watch the next Football game instead.
I choose the Ravens because I thought they had so much passion on the field and the bench and there was just something about this team that made me want to follow them.
Ray Rice's running game is just amazing! As a Rugby hooker (position) his game reminds me of my own play style (although he is miles ahead of me in skill).

So thats about it my story in a nutshell :)

Hurray, another fan from this side of the pond

There is a UK and Ireland Ravens flock,
http://www.facebook.com/UKRavens
http://twitter.com/ukravens

They do plan trips most years though I've never gone.....yet

There were some plans to meet up for the Superbowl, not sure if it's going ahead

Sure us European fans are a bit crazy, who else stays up until three am watching pre-season games

I think this is an outstanding thread! It's great to hear from a football (american) fan outside of the US (especially since the right team is being supported).

I've visited Cardiff when I was studying abroad in England during my college years and had a blast! Welcome to the community and thanks for sharing your story.

Well hey guys, appreciate the love coming from my fellow Raven fans!
I am trying to organize my friends (Ruger Bugers) into attending game night parties at my crib. I have some takers already and am convinced that once they get a few Ravens games under they're belts I will not be the only one waking the neighbors up cheering at god forsaken hours of the morning!

Much Love
