Its a joke that a so called Ravens fan even started a thread such as this. Reed and Lewis are only coming of the field on a stretcher, this is playoffs a whole different animal. We as Ravens fans have been truly spoiled by Hall of Fame play from these guys that a step or 2 loss in their jump makes us fret. Still they are mentally sharper then ever, and they still have their own `Reputation Effect` on any game.

Im of the opinion that they both have realized they dont have to go all out every play of the season to make it to the playoffs. If in fact they can just play well enough to make the tournament and then go full out when it counts. I note back to the Reed hit on McCluster in last years wild card, he destroyed Dexter! The best is yet to come from these 2 I just know it, We will see some big performances this post season from the boys. Hopefully this will be their final games, and they ride off into the sunset and into Canton as champions the way it should be.

Is there really anything to battle? Haven't you and the almighty Preston been debunked in every form? Stats tell a lot, not all, but a lot.

Here's Ed addressing his injury and his play recently. Link

It's not a problem that's going to magically go away. Let's hope he can make a play or two against the pass.

Ray Lewis is still playing at a high level, he doesn't make every play like he used to but there aren't many guys who do....Ed, well we all knew he was never going to be the same player if he came back from those injuries he had, his tackling has trailed off during the year and it was bad against Cincy but hopefully the week off and I'm sure the criticism will push these guys to prove everyone wrong, I think we will see their best this Sunday

The only thing that might make me change my mind is if Ray and Ed dominate against the pass vs. Houston. Till then, nothing you say will change things.

the running back average recieving stats per game show how much we need Ray Lewis in the middle. It doubled without him!

Your opinions on this nature won't change, but it really doesn't matter. Ray and Ed's snaps aren't going to be limited when the team needs difference-makers the most. Neither of them have made the kind of splash plays we've grown accustomed to this year, but that doesn't mean they deserve to be sat, especially not for players no better than them.

could also mean that our pass coverage was tighter and there was nothing left but checkdowns. just throwing that in there

Most of those stats being brought up by johnnyboy8102 are from one game, the Bengals, I bet. After that, our defense was rock solid again untill SD. Don't think you'll change your minds either, but I'm just putting that out there.

Just give it up. Even if Lewis and Reed were the direct cause of 200+ yards themselves they wont be taken off the field its as simple as that.

Want an example of a fading legend? Gretzky wasn't the same with the Rangers as he was in Edmonton or LA, but he still made plays and was still better than 3/4 of the league.

Wow ... this thread is exactly what I thought it would be when I saw the word 'smallow'.

The 'M' is on the complete opposite side of the keyboard, unlike 'reat' where the S and A are right next to each other.

That's actually a very good observation. I didn't even pay attention to the location of the keys. How the hell did he manage to screw that one up?
