Flacco: 4 Years And 44 Wins

158 posts in this topic

With the win over the Bengals on Sunday, Joe Flacco became the only quarterback in NFL history to win 44 games in his first four seasons.
“It’s pretty special for us to be able to come out here the last four years the way that we have week in and week out to win games,” he said. “Hopefully, I can add three more playoff wins on top of what we have the last few years. If we play well, we have the team to do it."
Yeah, pretty awesome and impressive for any team (QB) to average 11 wins a season over a 4 season stretch!

Nice job, team!!

I wonder then does that make ray rice the first running back to do it, I know he didn't start his first year but he was still active

Congrats to Joe! Keep it up and crank out three more this year, that's all we ask!

Yeah, waht 1/28/01 said - way to go team. Hate it when quarterbacks are given all the credit and all the blame. But Joe's gonna be setting records in Baltimore for years to come.

I doubt it. If Flacco had been the second string quarterback and just came in for a few plays all season, it wouldn't count for him.

However, it is very likely that Harbaugh has the record for most wins by a rookie hc/qb tandem.

Hopefully Joe adds 3 more wins to that total.

This team has been working to bring another Lombardi to the castle and I believe this is their best shot.

It's been a very good four seasons. If we can build on them (hopefully starting now) and win a Super Bowl or two then Joe's career resume will be very impressive.

Whether or not you want to give him much credit for all of those wins, there is no denying that he has helped the Ravens reach another level of consistency. There are probably other QBs that would have won as many games with our team over the past few years, but there aren't many of them.

All thats great and Flacco has definitely improved but the one number i want to bring up going into the playoffs is Flacco's numbers in the last game of the season. 15 for 19, 1 TD, 0 INTs, 0 fumbles. He only threw for 130 yards but if you add in the drop by lee evans and a couple others he may have reached 200 yards on just 15-17 completions. Those are some pretty good stats and i think Flacco has some serious confidence going into the playoffs. Pair that with the strong finish from our running game and what the defense is going to bring in the playoffs at home led by the guys we have...we're set up to make a pretty serious playoff run all the way through the super bowl

Congrats Joe!

44 wins is pretty damn good especially under Cameron's conservative approach. I can't wait to see what Joe does when Cam is no longer here.

Hmm... I don't hear anything from Flacco haters...

Anyone coulda done it...the team around him is just THAT incredible. He should be going undefeated every season, winning 75% of your games isn't good enough.

There are 4 elite quarterbacks in the NFL: Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady, Drew Brees, and Peyton Manning. Sure, that is a conservative evaluation, but Flacco is in the next group, and it is a pretty large group. The best criteria that defines a quarterback is wins and that is made light of by this thread. The issue with Flacco is inconsistency, but I'll take the wins with him at the helm any day.

I wonder where he stands if you include playoff victories. I know he was tied with Dan Marino after last year for most wins by a QB in his first three seasons including playoffs.

Congrats flacco! You grew up so fast! It seems like yesterday we drafted you! We need Joe! He is doing great this year! He has done weel even though we took his 2 favorite recievers away from him. im glad Pitta and him are connecting well before the playoffs. We need Boldin back for the home playoff game!! I am really excited for this playoff run! More excited than in the last 4 years!! Go Ravens Flacco and Rice lets bring the trophy home!!

I think he did get better this season at the things we complained about last season. Better pocket awareness, doesn't hold the ball as long, avoids sacks better. I guess I have to admit though, he can still be inconsistent, although that leads to successful winning seasons, so I am not complaining.
WOW. Elvis grbac couldnt do it; chris redman couldnt do it; randall cunningham couldnt do it; and kyle boller couldnt do it. Dont give me that BS. Don't forget joe had an awesome career last year and an aweful conservative offensive coordinator so we know he has what it takes to be an elite qb and we know where the poison lies. Don't say anyone could of done it because we have never had a young qb at this caliber. Just wait until we get a different offensive coordinator and joe grows even more in the nfl. Look at the defenses joe has faced also. Take it somewhere else.
