Buying Playoff Tickets
Yeah I notice that, it seems more corporate people get tickets rather than the general public. You guys think there will be any tickets released by the end of the week or next week?
Only if the visiting team gives back some tickets. And for a playoff game, its highly unlikely.

I know I might be able to get some teams from the visiting team if we play the Texans. I have a good contact that can probably score some from them. Pittsburgh not so much. They'll use all the tickets with their bandwagon fans. Denver would be the wildcard for me.

Florida, and bringing the wife, lol. I'm over $1500 in right now. Ugh.
See...that's what I am talking about. I applaud you for it and by no means am I cheap, but that $1,500 is a lot of food, drink and other dumb man crap (golf carts, ATVs, stuff to burn etc) and if you're like me, you'll miss some of the game.

Either way, have a freakin blast and get that tiny wife of yours to nab you some more signatures!

Well even though nobody could get tickets for the Divisional Round Game, there's always the AFC Championship Game.

Yup, I just dropped way to much money. It said something about "internet pre-sale" starting Sunday at 8pm. Who is that for????? BS.
that was it right there.
All the brokers got in on that deal.

It really was not even a little bit fair.

I just hope no one NO ONE from the opposing team gets ANY of the extra tickets.

Yeah.. This makes me skeptical. I'll decide next week once we know who plays who 'cause if the Pats are playing the Steelers, (meaning we play the Texans) I'm definitely going to the AFCCG instead of the Divisional game. No matter how banged up Pitt is, they are a far more balanced team than the Patriots and I see them beating them in Foxborough.

Maaaan, this is a real nutter..

Memo to self. Need to get PSLs.

Just don't want to sit on waiting list and pay a fee to sit on the list. Or pay somebody a ton of money to move up on the list.
I'm actually sitting on The List now, and there's two good reasons to be on it even if you have to wait years to get PSLs

1. If the opposing team returns extra tickets, PSL owners get first shot, then The List members before they go on sale to the public. I've bought a game or two that way.

2. If we get a home playoff game, members of The List can enter a lottery for playoff tickets before they go on sale to the public. You do have to pre-pay up front, but if you don't win, the payment is applied to future wait-list fees and eventual PSL's.

I currently have tickets for the divisional round and the AFC championships (if the Patriots lose) because I entered the lottery and won

Good info to know. That's cool about the visiting team and lottery parts.

Luckily I do have an in with most visiting teams before they can even return tickets. But I do need to get some PSLs. How long have you been waiting on the list for?

I just started my fourth year. From what I have seen, with the way I'm moving, it will probably be another 8-10 years (started at 2900, now at 2500, averaging about 200 spots a year) before I move to the top, unless the Ravens have a really bad year.

Do you know where/how you check what spot you currently hold? I have been on the list for a few years, never check and just keep paying the invoice per seat (6 seats) every time!

Normally they send out a letter after you pay your invoice telling you what you position is. If you haven't gotten it, you probably have to call the stadium and talk to the PSL folks.

Came across this on WBAL's website. They actually ran a story on how the tickets were sold out in 14 minutes. In the article one guy who actually went to a ticketmaster outlet, and the clerk had found 4 tickets for the guy and she went to ring them and up... poof they were gone. Even though she had just pulled them up they went away just like that when trying to complete the purchase. Full Story below:

http://www.wbaltv.co...926/detail.html

Not trying to bump this or anything, just that since me and others were frustrated about the same problem, I thought it would be a good article to post.

14 minutes my left arm. More like 14 seconds.
Oh I know. One thing I know is that if somehow Broncos beat the Patriots and Ravens beat Texans leading to the Ravens hosting the AFC Title game, I'll be afraid to even attempt to get tickets knowing that it could be just a waste of time as I'll just end up getting screwed over by the ticket brokers.

This is what drives me crazy.

I was on the Texans message board and the number of Texans fans who are buying tickets seems absurb thanks to the ticket brokers. Also someone posted there that the number of Texas residents who bought tickets off ticket exchange was 17.6%.

If the organization really wants a home field advantage, they have to find a way to allow Ravens fans to have first shot at the tickets. We would eat the tickets up without a hitch.

There are not as many broker seats as you think and 2 of the 3 local news stations did an investigation on this and came to the conclusion that we have the most expensive seats and there are not a lot of them. Before they went on sale there was a psl holders lottery for extras and it is a know fact that there are Steeler fans that hold PSLs and they sell all but 1 game on E-bay. I also know that this year a lot of people bought their playoff tickets unlike the last couple of years when we knew we were going in as a Wilcard-- we have a choice to buy or not to buy. My mother was terminally ill and her funeral was the day of the WC round last year and with all the uncertainty we did not buy our tickets so they would have gone into the pool that was sold.
It is going to be cold a windy and people could have decided to "cash in" and sell the tickets. If these guys are coming from Houston they are in for a bone chilling weekend.
The NFL also make several hundred tickets available to opposing fans for EVERY game they could be taking advantage of this. 17 % of 4000 or so tickets is about 400 people, not a lot in a sea of 71,000

Unfortunately for fans that want tickets you want the hottest to ticket in town and there are a finite number.

Good points. You make me feel better. On the Texans boards it just seems like so many of them are going to the game. But maybe its just my paranoia going wild. I just want a dominant home field come game day. At this point, I could care less if I have tickets or not.

Oh there will be a dominant home field at M&T Bank. Even when it's us vs the Steelers, we greatly outnumber them in the stands.

However, you did remind me that when I bought my ticket for the Ravens vs Steelers in 2009, I came up to my row and the people next to me said "Oh good, when our neighbor sold his ticket we were hoping it went to a Ravens fan."

Mod 3 and 4 can back me up on this but the legend of the Steeler fans taking over the stadium is less and less every year. I have broker seats in front of me and it's been mostly Raven fans this year.

A lot of the corporate seats are boxes or clubs I know at least 5 companies that gave up their seats when the ecomony tanked.

I have broker seats behind me and they're about 50-50 Ravens fans vs. visiting team. This year was more Ravens fans than in past years, though.

Steeler fans no longer appear in large numbers in our stadium. I'm very happy about that because I was sick of the fights.

That shocked me. I know it's hard to prevent, but it's disgusting that Steelers fans own PSLs in The Bank.
When we bought our PSLs we had to buy 3 because they were together in the middle of the row. The people on the end in front of us and in the middle of the row did that. They sold the other tickets or gave them to friends and family. I do know that one couple gave the seats to their kids and the other sold. It was the one way they could see their team, personally thought it sucked but nothing I could do about it. When PSLs took off in price the last 10 years a lot of people like that sold. My husband tracks the going rate on sites like E-bay he has noticed known broker seats in our section for sale since the economy tanked. I have notices a lot less opposing fans the last couple years. I sit in the endzone Ray dances in. I hate crowds and porta potties so I get to my seats early and people watch.

Ticketmaster did release some singles last night, if you need a single, you might want to check their website from time to time. I got mine in Section 545 Row 3 Seat 10 and paid around $105 total, including print out ticket.

Yea I just checked now and they have one single, first row of section 522. Pretty good ticket. I've often been described as a loner, but I still prefer two seats.
