Where Does Green Bay Find These Guys?

Matt Flynn throws 480 yards and 6 TD's against Detroit. A backup? Are you kidding me? Are you as impressed as I am?

imo it is not a matter of "finding" them...but using them properly or putting them in and "trusting" them to make plays. that is what our offense is lacking because of Cam.

Oddly enough I feel like Matt Flynn will be in a Redskins jersey next season....

or a Raiders jersey either way, overpaid and losing his new team valuable draft picks

Flynn will be a free agent next year, they said. Yesterday was a fine audition....even though Detroit was the opponent.

I actually really like Flynn. And I'm not overreacting to yesterday either.

I think he'll be more of a Matt Schaub rather than a Kolb or Cassell.

Flynn is actually a decent QB. He almost beat the Patriots last year while Rodgers was out. I don't think anyone will "over"pay for him. He has a nice ARM. Accuracy is there. Back shoulder throws, yeah he can make those too. So I ask this, who would you rather have at QB, Matt Flynn or Joe Flacco?

I feel he'll be another Kevin Kolb somewhere. Except this time a team dont give up so much for him....Silly cardinals lol.
They must have a great QB coach. But I still think him and Rodgers switched uniforms..

The irony of that game is that if Rodgers had started and thrown 6 TD passes, he would've broken Bradys record for most TD passes in a season with 51.

Several things have to be kept in mind when discussing Matt Flynn. Number 1, he was actually a fairly decent college quarterback. What New England did with Cassel was so ridiculous in part because the guy hadn't started since high school - he was a backup at USC his whole career. Flynn led his team to a national title. Number 2, the guy isn't some green rookie; he was drafted in the same draft as Joe by the Packers (who also drafted Brohm in that draft, btw), and has played in the Packers' system for 4 years. He has been playing with Jennings, Nelson, Driver, Jones, Finley, that o-line, etc, for 4 years, practicing with them and taking reps just like every other quarterback in the league. Not to mention, he's working with an offensive coordinator and quarterback coach who really seem to know what they're doing - look what they've helped Rodgers accomplish. So talented guy + talented team + good coaching + facing a pretty poor passing defense = what we saw Sunday.

I'm surprised either team even has draft picks, the way Snyder gives them up for anybody who had a somewhat decent season and after Hue Jackson practically sold his soul for Carson Palmer.

Green Bay has a knack for finding hidden gems on the offensive side of the ball, kind of how we find hidden gems on the defensive side. As for Flynn, can you say small sample size? I would like to see what he is capable of over the course of a season before I signed him to an extensive contract, and No I would not take him over Joe. Thats just asanine.

Quite the opposite now, Synder is changed these days

Redskins kept trading back in the last draft and had twelve picks

The days of Synder trading for washed up and/or overrated players are over

Thing is, the Packers did to him the same thing they did to Rodgers. Kind of what Flacco was supposed to be. A developmental QB. Flynn has been sitting on the bench for 4 years watching and practicing with Aaron Rodgers. Half his throws looked just like Rodgers. Same as Rodgers learning the game while Favre was there (big difference being Rodgers is class and took Flynn under his wing and has actually been teaching him). Flacco didn't have that luxury and was thrown right into the fire.

I liked Flynn. Dude has a huge arm, accuracy, good footwork and he reads defenses really well. He's going to be a good QB for someone. If I was Seattle with their cap room - they have like $38million under right now - I'd be camped outside his front door.

Really, it's Bruce Allen that deserves credit for their turnaround in the draft.

As for Flynn, Ravenslifer put it best in his final sentence. I think Flynn could be a good QB but at least one team is going to overbid for his services this spring.

They have great coaches at basically every position on their staff. They develop talent as well as anybody.
