cosign this strong fact. I don't think we can resign him yet because of the other priorities but I wouldn't let him go period.

we drafted him in 09 so i dont think his contract should be up til the end of 2013.

I still stand by my statement from months ago- our best, most consistent defensive player.
I agree. Nothin against Suggs but its easier to take an OLB out the game than a CB.

Webb is great. He is a Pro Bowl snub this year. But like Sizzle said, we don't care about Pro Bowls.

Webb has potential to become a true shutdown corner for us, he already was this year. Hopefully Smith comes along and we can keep getting good play out of Cary Williams for a few years. For a spot thats supposed to be our weak spot, we are pretty solid at DB.

Cincy fans complaining about the last hail mary conveniently don't notice Green's hands all up in Webb's face mask.
Exactly. The foul would have been on Green. I'd love to see Web take over for Reed at free safety and we can draft another corner.

I always find it funny when a player played well so many fans had stood behind him ( not calling anyone out). I just seem to remember it was very few people that thought Webb was good after he tore his acl. I seem to remeber few people like Cary Williams either durning the Mattison era but he seems to have a little following now. My point being is some of us switch like the weather an it doesnt matter if you were there from the start all that matters is now.

Oh yea and Im calling Anthony Allen taking over 2nd string Rb duties next year if we have a real OC. Also Doss, L. Williams and J. Ried being big parts of the team when given the chance. I will admit that I hated on T. Smith because I didnt think he was ready and I was wrong. With time J. Smith will prove to be a great db as well.

I will go on the record with these two as well.

Book mark this thread so in two years we can come backs and prove we supported them way back when.

I have loved Webb from minute one, so glad he was able to return to top form after the knee surgery.
he gave his knee lots of reat, that is what made it better.

I gotta say, while I liked Webb a lot I always pictured him as our slot corner with Williams and Smith on outside in future. Because Webb is such a good blitzer and zone coverage player but he really stepped up this year in man coverage also.
I can't see Webb giving up his starting CB spot.

He was definitely deserving a probowl selection, he is one of many of our most improved player award candidates IMO ( C.Williams, P.Kruger, T.Cody, E.Dickson )

something tells me in a year people will call them as the most feared tandem in the league , Smith and Webb , Right now Webb needs a nick name his number is 21 and his interceptions seem to be a knock out to the QBs he blanked the league on TDs how about BlackJack or SpiderMan?

Webb was actually tied for 3rd in the league in passes defended this season, only trailing Browner and Tramon Williams. He tied with Revis. Webb is one of the most underrated players in the entire league. Dude's awesome.

(IF) Suggs gets the DPOY then Webb should get the team defensive MVP since he's the only one not going to the pro bowl out of the big names on defense. He's earned it.
I can definitely dig this.

He needs to stop returning punts! He scares me every time he does. Can't have our #1 DB get hurt on a punt return.

I admit i had doubts about Webb last season, but has he ever proven many people wrong. He's our Ed Reed of CB's.. I think he's still to hit his prime!

He's also kick-returning against the Bengals too....

Harbs is just so dependable on Webb although we all know how great Webb is, but he's just too valuable right now..

However, it's playoff run so I think we have to use our best guys......

Love you Lardarius. Great game yesterday, even though for some reason you dissed me. When you got the interception you came to sideline (which is visitors side - but there are mostly all Ravens fans) with the ball and when I reached for ball you dropped it like you do to diss the other team. What's up with that? :( Hurt my feelings.

One of the biggest draws to Baltimore for me is the amazing defensive players we have and continue to draft. Ozzie seems to have a sixth sense about who is going to be a star and who is going to bust. I love the position of CB especially, and Im excited to see how they play against Brady next week.

Here's a neat little stat. Lardarius Webb was targeted 7 times throughout the game. He allowed 1 completion, totaling 19 yards, with a pass deflection along with his 2 INTs. All in all, T.J. Yates had a grand total of 0.0 passer rating when throwing in Webb's direction. In addition, Ed Reed was targeted 4 times, coming away with 3 pass deflections and the 1 INT. Unsurprisingly, this also merited a passer rating of 0.0. Makes it even more remarkable in retrospect.

Am I the only who cant help but think that if it had Darelle Revis who'd had 2 picks in a divisional play-off we'd be hearing all about it until next sunday? Webby is quietly becoming one of the best corners in the league, yet doesnt get the respect he deserves. Keep it up Lardarius!
