RR27! Pay Homage!

47 posts in this topic

This guy is just amazing. Over 2,000 combined yards and almost another 200 yard game against a top 5 defense in Cincy. Ray Rice should get MVP consideration one of these days but for those that doubted the importance of running the offense through him and/or said they would trade/release him rather than sign him if we had to choose.....here's your chance to repent lol. Ray Rice is the offense MVP. Our Defensive MVP.....Cam Cameron!!!!

Ray Rice is the man, I was thinking about this the whole game it felt like he was setting the tone for this whole game, saying he's ready for the playoffs!

Just give 27 the ball!

But, but, but, but....Running backs are a dime a dozen! Ha, people that say that are ridiculous. AVERAGE running backs are a dime a dozen. But NOT top 3 running backs such as RR. And he is so versatile as well!!

Way to go, big fella!!!

Yes, Ray Roice is NOICE!! What a game... he may very well be an MVP candidate in any other year. What a quiet, 2,000-yard season.

If I remember correctly there was alot of members who suggested we dont keep Rice, saying he can easily be replaced.

True that.

Rice is our consistency on offense, and is putting our offense on his back until Boldin gets back. Dude needs to get paid $$$$$$$

Also worthy of note.

Ray Rice led the league in yards from scrimmage.

He was 2nd in rushing yards (to MJD)

He was 2nd in rushing touchdowns (to LeSean McCoy)

He's now only the second running back in NFL history to have at least 1200 yards rushing and 700 yards receiving in multiple season (Marshall Faulk)

Also, another fun little fact. In the 2008 NFL Draft, there were 6 running backs selected before Ray Rice

Darren McFadden, Jonathan Stewart, Felix Jones, Rashard Mendenhall, Chris Johnson, Matt Forte.

In the last three years, since Ray Rice became a starter, he has gained more yards from scrimmage than each of them. Yes, even Chris Johnson. And 5 of them were selected in the first round too, including McFadden 4th overall.

We definetly wouldnt be this far without him!
Hes gonna get a huge contract which he deserves so we probably wont be able to keep Grubbs unless he wants to stay here

I was in Cinci today with my "Feed the Beast," sign. Good thing Cam Cameron chose to do just that. Ray Rice is a total monster, but a lot of credit goes to the O-line for opening up big holes on this two TDs.

I said a few weeks ago that Rice put on a lot of muscle weight since his rookie season and therefore has a lower top speed, but I take that back after today's performance. He was movin.

Easy now! Lol, I only said that RBs are more easily replaced than guards (Grubbs)

BUT, Rice is a special runningback. He's definitely not replaceable. I never did suggest that we should let him go, just that Grubbs comes first. Rice never did hit full stride until Grubbs camer back.

Rice is a great player.

I didn't even know he ended up being 2nd in the league in rushing only behind MJD, and they both had the same ypc. So maybe if Cam fed him more, he might've been able to catch up to him.

The exact verbiage I remember too. Not sure who said it but it stuck out. Replace this guy? The only other person besides Marshall Faulk with more than one season of 1,000 rushing yards and over 700 receiving???? That other guy is just in the hall of fame. RR27!!!!

Absolutely credit goes to the Oline and Vonta as well. But the 51-yarder he had to make 3 people miss after he got through the line. But yes you are absolutely right team game and they were great in the running game too!

Wonder what the number of rushes were for each? MJD had 1600 plus so that's saying something if RR27 was right behind him!

I knew Rice should have been a first rounder. McFadden was a fast runner who slashed upfield through big holes while Rice was a runner who ran into piles of 10 guys and somehow always came out on the other side with 2 or 3 YAC yards. Plus McFadden had such skinny legs you knew he was going to have injury issues. Rice was upset he was drafted late but it worked out for the best.

Remember the stretch of games where we experimented with becoming a passing team. MJD is the only weapon for his team so he's gonna get a workload.
