Well, this does work out a little bit better for the Patriots. They get the Broncos on less rest than the Texans have (by 2 days). And if they win they'll have one more day rest than whoever they would face in the AFC Championship game.

As the players strolled in and out after warming up individually, Ray was nowhere to be seen. Terrell came towards the tunnel and I asked him..."Is Ray here? If he is, tell him that I have a SB XXXV Football I'd like him to sign." Terrell kept walking and turned back to say that Ray didn't make the trip.

I was dismayed but not deterred. I just changed tactics...

Joe Flacco was walking off the field and I hollared to him..."Hey Joe, I have a SB XXV football here.." At first he didn't seem too interested but then I said, "Maybe if YOU sign it, it will bring you the luck you need to beat the Steelers and make it to the Super Bowl this year!!". Funny, I never thought of Joe as a superstitious guy but hey, I was an athlete once and we're ALL superstitious in one way or another....right? His eyes perked up and he said, "Give it here". Joe signed that football and instead of feeling bad about Ray Ray not signing it, I felt that I may have just done the team a huge favor. I know, kind of weird but hey, I am HUGE fan...so any rationalization is good.

I thanked Joe and he said, "No Problem" and walked on. A minute later, Coach Harbaugh walks up and I give him the same spiel...I laughed as he said, "Give it here!!". His eyes lit up and he was genuinely excited about signing my football.

The rest, as we say, is history...well almost. The rest of the story is still being written and though that making it to the Super Bowl this year will be a total RAVENS NATION effort, I like to think that a couple of superstitious guys signing a SB football from the last time the Ravens went to the SB might have something to do with their success.

It would be cool....though my connections are long gone. I hated having to move to Atlanta and I really miss my family and friends up in B-more. The good news is, we have a ton of Ravens fans here in the ATL and we are loud and proud!! Someday, I will get to meet Ray and hopefully, I will have the football with me...

Atlanta is like everywhere else that isn't home...it's nice and I've got great friends but I do miss family and friends. The weather is pretty good....one snow or ice storm a year. Mild temps....close proximity to Florida Gulf and Atlantic beaches...lots of country to roam down here. Traffic sucks like B-more and DC...lol.
