And we get that bye, which is so key after a long season. Hopefully we can rest up a little and be ready to go in two weeks. But the Ravens worked hard for this moment and deserve to be proud of how they have played this year.

I remember a thread on here about 4 reasons this isn't our year.. I'm going to list a few reasons why this is MOST DEFINITELY our year:

1. We have beaten 3 out of the 6 teams in the AFC playoffs
2. We have beaten two of the teams in the AFC playoffs twice
3. We CAN beat Denver
4. We CAN beat New England. Our Defense can shut their offense down. Their Defense is the 2nd worst in the league.

I'm really excited about our potential to be playing in the big dance. Have to take it once step at a time and play the way we know The Ravens can play!

This is an hard fought and well earned accomplishment. However it will mean little if they don't win their divisional matchup.

Anyone else here glad that we have a Sunday 1PM game instead of playing on Saturday Night?

Honestly, I'd rather the Ravens have had the Saturday game. That would take out an extra day of rest for whoever they played from the Wild Card round and would give them at extra day of rest if they won for the AFC Championship game.

This is indeed a day for celebration for Raven Nation!

I posted the score and the fact that we're AFCN Champs on FB, and of course, a co-worker Steeler fan replied in typical Steeler fan fashion that we're tied in his book. When I mentioned that Steeler fans seem to want to forget weeks 1 and 9, he replies with something about wanting revenge. Just like the Bengal fans whining about wanting a PI at the end of the game...whatever!!

Just glad we're atop our division!!

Don't know if this would be off topic, but with a Bye do you think there is a chance we could get any contracts done, like say Ben Grubbs before the Divisional Round?

Yes, what a season this has been. Actually for the past 4 years, since Harbaugh's leadership, we have been pretty darn awesome. We seem to be progressing each year, further and further. Hopefully we go all the way this time. We have a better opportunity now being 2nd seed, we need to take advantage of it.

You know, not that I have ever lacked faith in this team, but in previous years I was very concerned about our ability to succeed in the post season. With Flacco in his NFL infancy, problems with the OL, and glaring holes in our defenses, I knew we'd have an uphill battle.

But this year, I feel like we have a very real opportunity ahead of us. Flacco is no longer a wet behind the ears kid -- he has shown over and over again this season that he will deliver when it matters and can carry this team to victory. The OL has been decent, and occasionally very good this year. The defense has improved drastically, even if they do give up some plays now and then.

And the schedule is favorable. A bye week, then a game against either HOU or CIN, teams that we have already beaten this year.
Barring an upset, in the AFCCG we'll then face the winner of PIT / NE ... PIT wont beat us in our house (not that it matters -- it looks like we have their number this year) and last time we visited Foxborough in the post season, we demolished them.

My prediction:

Ravens - Saints in the big game!

Love this team <3

I went to bed in a happy daze and that happy daze has returned after reading this thread.

I was flat out informed by my friends after the game that I WILL be at the game with them even though that is the weekend before I leave for my two week trip to Indiana. My friend Stewie told me he is going to make a diet-friendly version of his seafood chowda for me *nomnomnom*

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah bliss. And what makes the bliss even better, in my little FB universe, those of Steelers Nation are 100% completely silent.

And I don't think I really care...after I pay an important bill tomorrow, I will order a division champs ballcap. :)

Good post. I feel much the same this year. All the way to the SB !

However, Cincy is the #6 seed. Houston #3, Steelers #5 and Denver #4. If Cincy wins they go into NE (lowest seed). So we could face the Steelers first game out. Still holds true that we've beaten them though!
