Just found this on NFL.com:

In other Jets news, the team has told people that it can get out of paying Bart Scott the $4 million he's guaranteed for 2012, which would be news to the veteran linebacker. Scott seems to believe he is set for next season, whether he is with the team or not.

So, doesn't appear he's been cut.....yet.
Classic Jets. Now they will screw their players and send another bad message.

Renogitate your contract to cheaper. We'll guarantee your remaining contract. Oops, loophole. Your cut.

That's certainly what it sounds like they plan to do. This will be interesting to watch.....

I always believed Sanchez just isn't fit to be an NFL Franchise QB. I mean, he has had tons of talent around him I including one hell of an offensive line and cannot even perform to a laughable level of play. Look at how the Ravens made him look on national television. He wanted to cry and you could see quit in his face. If they wanted to succeed, they should have benched Sanchez for the vet they had or even McElroy.

I always believed Sanchez just isn't fit to be an NFL Franchise QB.
I always thought the same and he end up being Leinart 2.0. Now if you want to know how bad it is in New York, well 7th Round Rookie QB Greg McElroy went home to Alabama and did an interview where he unloaded on the Jets.
“It’s definitely not a fun place to be, I can assure you,” McElroy said of the Jets’ locker room. “It’s the first time I’ve ever been around extremely selfish individuals. And I think that’s maybe the nature of the NFL. But there were people within our locker room that didn’t care whether we won or lost as long as they got theirs, they had a good game individually. And that’s the disappointing thing.”
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/01/04/jets-greg-mcelroy-selfish-teammates-didnt-care-if-we-won-or-lost/

Next Headline: Greg McElroy requests Trade from Jets.

I think I may go save McElroy, well on Madden 12 at least.

McElroy came from a very "team" oriented environment. Nothing surprising about the selfishness of the people in that organization

The Jets are in epic meltdown mode and its almost justifying for how obnoxious the Jets have been. However there's alot of talk about them trying to get Manning. If they succeed and Manning is healthy he pretty much trumps any disfunction that team will ever have as long as he's under centre.

I tell you this, I guarantee Peyton Manning will refuse to go to the Jets with their entire situation blowing up right now. I think Peyton actually stays in Indy and tutors Luck for a two years before Luck takes over in Indy.

Jets are stuck with Sanchez since he has a big contract.

It cracks me up when players choose to hide their names when they say things like that. I dislike Sanchez as well, but have some balls and put your name out there. Your team is already in shambles.

All that huffing and puffing for two years made it that much louder when the bubble burst on the Jets. That's what happens when you put your effort into wooing old free agents and not drafting correctly. The Jets leaned on broken crutches.

Never cared to look what his contract was until now , and 5 for $44M is hilarious. If they cut him outright (not happening, but just for thread purposes) my quick calculations would be a $10M cap hit since they have already paid him $18M of his guarantee of $28M. His pay for next year is $14M, so they would "save" $4M, but have dead money of $10M.

All done really quickly, but regardless its a hilarious situation they're having right now. Talk about polar opposite organizations!

Huh, now the "great Mark Sanchez" is lazy and doesn't work hard. Interesting what comes out of the woodwork when things aren't going well.

I know, this has crossed my mind as well. I don't think there's any doubt Harbs >>>> Rex.

As long as the Jets were winning Rex was God. Trust me, the year we don't make the postseason everyone is going to turn on Harbaugh.

The fans would be on Harbaugh, but would the players be on him? That's what counts.

I think so, you see how heated and opinionated our guys get when we lose one game. But as long as we're winning it's not going to be a problem.

But they, from what we could see (Suggs), were angry with Cam. We've heard numerous reports of multiple different players upset with Cam as a coach, and now he's evidently on his last straw. I also think we have the right guys in the locker room to stick with one another through a rough season. And unfortunately, there will be a time when this team misses the playoffs, most likely sometime in the Harbs era.

Ozzy has made plenty of mistakes in the past (drafting Boller and Clayton, signing Grbac) he's just more than made up for them by absolutely crushing enough of the draft picks out of the ballpark to make up for them... Jonathan Ogden, Ray Lewis, Peter Boulware, Duane Starks, McAlister, Jamal Lewis, Heap, Reed, Suggs, Ngata, Grubbs, Flacco. Geez... just listing them off like that, it's ridiculous.

I know at one point in the past, 50% of the Ravens first round draft picks made the Pro Bowl in their SECOND year. Thought that was back through 2005, when Suggs/Boller finished up their second year.

I'm not trying to defend Sanchez or anything but I have a problem with whoever said this about Sanchez then hiding behind anonymous. Ray Lewis said it best, this is a MAN'S Game. If whoever said it is man enough to say it behind his back but then not be man enough to own up to what you said? Clearly whoever said it isn't a MAN and is like a high school KID who spreads gossip and then when asked about it, say they didn't do it, and right now whoever said it is being a wuss and isn't Man Enough to own up to what he said so GET OUT OF FOOTBALL, it's a MAN's GAME!
