Posted by Jason La Canfora today. I thought I'd bring it to attention, even though there's less than a 1% chance of it happening.

Last I checked DeCosta's making GM money here because he's Ozzie's heir-apparent. I find it laughable that he'd even be mentioned for the Raiders job. I mean, really? Going from a program that breeds success, to the complete mess that is Oakland? Does he really want to go to a team that has ZERO picks in the top half of the draft next year? Does he really want to go to a team that's invested heavily at Quarterback (Palmer 1st &1st/2nd and Pryor 3rd)?

I can't see the Raiders GM position being one of the more popular this off-season.

Don't worry about this, Eric is pretty much given the job of General Manager when Ozzie heads back to Alabama so and why would he leave here where he knows he has job security here and go to a place like Oakland where job security would be a big issue. Eric's name always comes up but I think he always declines interviews because he even knows he is the heir apparent to Ozzie.

I've been reading about that for years now and Ozzie has never confirmed that will happen. That story started somehow and fans have heard it often enough it's accepted as gospel

Ozzie is still young at fifty five, could be nearer a decade before he moves on. Only he knows what he plans to do

I think his plan is to win at least 5more SBs before retiring from NFL and doing something else for his leisure time.

Decosta is only 40yr old and at 50 or lesser he can take over Ozzie's kingdom.

To Oakland as a reply for your rumor mill about wanting Eric as your GM, I want to say "In your Dream!"

But then look at it from another point of view. He might rather come in and turn Oakland around rather and put his own stamp on it then join us who are built to win just need a few additions each year. For a gm re building and then winning a super bowl would be a bigger success than winning one with us or pitts or ne etc. Just depends what challenge he wants

His stamp is all over this team, player personell is his specialty. He's Ozzies right hand man, I don't think he's going anywhere. The ownership on Oakland isnt even sound.
