"bout Time Somebody Said It..."

This article was written today by John Eisenburg on CSNBaltimore.com that comments on Flacco's presser today, and I thought it was interesting. Personally, I am glad somebody finally came out and said it! Anyone else???

Flacco: Play-calling was 'conservative'

You can count quarterback Joe Flacco among those who believe the Ravens’ play-calling become too conservative in the second half of last Saturday’s win over Cleveland.

http://www.csnbaltim...634&feedID=6703

Here is the link if you would like to hear Joe (2:10 - 3:40): http://www.baltimoreravens.com/media_library/Videos/2011/12/Presser_Flacco_On_Ravens_Mindset_Heading_Into_Cincy.aspx?id=e364d69c4ba24629872166aee2c97a62

This should get interesting!

lol I said earlier about one of Harbs pressers that he takes every chance to shove Cam in the faces of the media and the fans. "Cam did a great job" "I want to point out what a great job all our coaches did, especially Cam" "No it wasn't the playcalling, it was the drops." Yeah, he won't call out Cam but he has no issue throwing a player or two under the bus. And I got negged for it lmbo.

Good for you, Joe. You keep on fighting for that control. Hopefully, the FO will see the real issue after this season and all of Harbs candy coating won't save Cam's job for him yet again.

Coming from a guy who is known for saying almost nothing at press conferences (almost Bellichickian, if I may), that was like a declaration of war. Maybe he knows the postseason is around the corner and that barring some miracle, the Cam Cameron experiment will end in Baltimore? I can only hope.

I think it is exactly the right time. Joe knows that conservative crap will not get it done in the playoffs. IMO he's trying to make sure Cam doesn't shoot us in the foot in the post season.

Run to pass ratio is not the only thing that matters. It's about being unpredictable. If the other team knows that you're just trying to run clock, it's not gonna go well. But you also can't panic and abandon the run just because you're down 10 points.

I know man...Flacco usually says the "right" things, but he has never had a problem voicing his displeasure either. Just one more thing to love about him!

If only Ray Lewis would get up to a podium at the end of the season and say, "Unless you want me to retire, get rid of Cam Cameron. If i'm going to play past age 37, I need an offense that can score and keep TOP so I'm not out on the field so much." I guarantee Cam would be out within the hour.

Joe Flacco is absolutely the personification of cool. I feel like, if I ever meet him, he will insist that I give him my lunch money.

And good for you, Joe. I don't know that NOW is the best time to be shaking the boat, as some of the other posters said, but I know the boat needs to be shaken. So now it's time to sink or swim with Joe Cool, to drag this tortured metaphor to an overdue end.

Call an audible then. Where is John Harbaugh? Thought he was getting his touch on offense.

The fact that we had to bring in an "Offensive Consultant" last year with Al Saunders should of been the message to the front office that either the QB or OC needs to go. Even if you do neither the worst thing to do is fire the QB coach....

Well, this opens up a new can of worms. Now the Flacco haters are gonna go back to saying that Joe doesn't take accountability for the offense and that it's wrong for him to throw his coaches under the bus.

Way to go Joe, just step up and perform this week!

We have an OC who called them overrated and in an earlier comment this season, said Joe can call any play he wants, after he goes to Cam first. So no, I don't believe he has all this freedom to audible out of plays. I think he has 2 choices (hand picked by Cam) and can kill play one for play two and that's it.

Yeah, even though he did that in his post game press conference. So far he's taken responsibility, and given Cam responsibility for the game. The receivers also bear responsibility, because they weren't getting open, but he defended them totally. That's what a leader does. Stand up for your guys, but speak your mind (i.e. Cam is terrible).

This is my feeling too. It's the reason I think he doesn't get a wristband. Then he'd be able to go outside of Cam's calls. Harder to do without the myriad plays on your wrist.

Its about time. And as much as I like Harbaugh, I am getting tired of him pandering to Cam. What is it that Cam has over John's head?

Cam hired John as an assistant when he was in Indiana. Cam basically gave the Harbaugh his coaching start.

That's still no excuse. I'm really starting to think he has some dirty pictures of John or something that he's using as blackmail. That's the most logical reason I can come up with for why Cam is still here.

So he is indebted to the idiot for life? What about a thank you and a nice card? Anything that Harbaugh has gotten along the way is from his own hard work. He owes nothing to Cam, and he should expect the moron to earn his paycheck.

Unfortunately, and I think everyone here knows this, we are screwed in the playoffs if Cam gets conservative the way he does. Like I said... if the Chargers fire Norv on Monday, can we rent him for the playoffs, you know like a test drive before fully making Norv our offensive coordinator lol.

I don't think we have to worry about Harbs. When it's time for Cam to go , the guy who signs Harbs' paycheck will say : " Either Cam goes , or both of you go. "

Harbs will have no choice , and we'll finally be rid of Cam.

As a bonus , maybe we'll get to see the dirty pictures.

Compared to others who've made their thoughts known in the press, this is harmless. Flacco is merely echoing the sentiments of the fans. It'd be a different matter if he started naming names and went on a public tirade.

Cam Cameron reminds me of Coach Klein from the Waterboy. All this creativity in 08 and then BOOM all down the commode.
I actually appreciate what Cam's done for the team. He's good for rebuilding mediocre offenses. He just can't take them to the next level.

That's not a knock on Cam; many offensive coordinators fall into this mold. Rather, it's just a sign that the team has outgrown him. The only possible way Cam gets a one-year reprieve is if the offense dominates the competition throughout the postseason en route to a Super Bowl victory.
