Chargers Vs Lions

The lions are making SD look baddddddd. Making last weeks loss, and this weeks floundering that much more frustrating. Why can we not put teams away decisively. The only game we've solidly beat someone was in week 1 vs pittsburgh...we're definitely not playing elite football headed into the play offs which is so frustrating when you look at our roster...possibly best team we've ever assembled on paper just none of them are making it happen besides Ray Rice who continues to carry our offence when Cam Cameron lets him.

Also I don't know if its just me or is everyone with a moderate to low football knowledge like myself able to call 95% of Cam's plays before they happen......Should I strap on some pads and get on the field or is Cam just too predictable?

Of course he is unpredictable and hard headed OC; he won't change plays or adjust according the opposing defense scheme.

The lion torch up the SD zone defense cuz they spread them out well, attacking the middle and short passes.

Cam rarely uses players in their strength; how many times you see Boldin in the slot reciever? rarely.

If they zone defense, short passes, quick slant, quick dump off will kill them cuz more room to run.

I'm going to swallow to what Cam can offer for his last season; it is how it is for our offense in terming of playcalling and player usage. I just hope our player can execute well even though the opposing defense know what we are going to do.

My knowledge level is definitely "low" and I can't call plays yet. I can definitely see the aftermath though. lol.

I'm glad the Chargers are getting beat. I guess they're not so tough, after all.

Just like the Dolphins, Lions are falling apart, Chargers score and Lions just fumbled and gave it back to the Chargers.

Chargers 7
Lions 24

Lions can Clinch their first playoff berth in a long time with a win over the Chargers. If Chargers make a comeback, the Chargers can not only have a chance at the Wild Card but also a shot at the AFC West Crown.

well I'm not saying I know the play exactly but Cam goes with a very predictable Run Run Pass (60% of the time incomplete or too short) punt run run pass punt run run pass punt. And every now and then then usually on 2nd down its a Play action pass. I'm still working on which hole Rice will run into and such but I'm getting pretty close.

Ugh. I just ate my Christmas Eve dinner and I'm full. I don't even have room for my own words. C'mon, Detroit!

Even with my limited knowledge, I saw that. Why don't they try a quick pass to somebody with good hands and running ability, like Dennis or Torrey? It seems to work for NO and we all know it worked for Rivers.

Am I the only person who wants to see San Fran drop to the 3rd Seed and Lions get the 6th Seed so we get a rematch of the "Hand Shake Heard Around The World"? I would love to see San Fran and Detroit play each other in the playoffs.

I'd be for that. I also want to see how the Saints do against the 9ers defense.

Me too... Norv Turner meet Joe Flacco, Anquan Boldin, Torrey Smith, Ray Rice. Ravens Offense meet the man who will help you become the offense you should be.

How realistic is the "Norv Turner comes to Baltimore" scenario?

Well it's pretty realistic that he'll be fired if San Diego misses the playoffs. If I was the front office, to heck with what Harbaugh thinks, I'd try to make a change as soon as possible. But La Canfora is usually pretty good with his info, and it sounds like, from what he's saying, somebody in the Ravens FO seems to be thinking about changing OCs this offseason. I hope, anyway. I hope they're watching what I'm watching, our "Offensive Coordinator" taking our talented quarterback and utterly ruining him. Ignoring our pro bowl running back so he can dial up 30 yard bombs all day. Refusing to play matchups, and refusing to get a look at our young talent. Flat our refusing to change his gameplan, stubbornly insisting that he knows best. I hope the FO sees this, and realizes we have to make a change or we'll end up right back in the same place next year.

Put it this way - when was the last time we ran a 3 WR set? Have you ever seen us run a 4 WR set? Is Cam even aware that we have the receivers to go 5 wide if we want to? We have two athletic young tight ends, where are they half the time? I don't know, and I honestly think Cam doesn't either. He thinks that a 2 WR set is the way to go, and if it doesn't work, well, why not keep trying it until it does. What LJ Smith had to say about the arrogance of Cam Cameron, that to me just fits everything I've seen with this offense into a nice little package. It's Cam's way or the highway, doesn't matter the situation, he does what he wants, period end of story.

How does Kevin Smith, a guy who was out of football earlier this season, get 15 carries against San Diego and Ray Rice gets 8?
Defense couldn't stop one San Diego drive. There's the difference. Run has to be abandon if you fall behind and realize you can't stop the other team.

The Lions were able to force a couple turnovers.

our offence didn't do the defence any favours though. Its almost like digging yourself a deeper hole when one side of the ball plays poorly. In this instance, the defence wasn't doing to hot, but since the offence kept on turning over the ball or not sustaining long drives, the defence kept getting thrust out onto the field getting more and more tired, while SD was getting more and more fired up.
