On Graham.

Graham is as good a temp. kicker as we could find this time of the year. We were lucky to get him. However as soon as Cundiff is sound Graham has to go for the reason stated above. He is not a pressure kicker. In the playoffs every kick is a pressure kick. In meantime we have to suffer with the short kickoffs. I sure miss STOVER

Cundiff has missed several kicks in recent games and these were not long FG's either.
While Graham doesn't kick deep on kickoffs, I'd rather give up a few yards on kickoffs than have Cundiff miss an important FG in the playoffs. Also once he misses one it seems to get to his head and he is very shaky on subsequent kicks in the game.

Maybe keep them both and just have Cundiff kick off or try very long FG's. Graham can handle the regular FG's. I think I heard he is one of the most accurate in NFL history.

I still can't figure out what the hell happened to Vanderjagt. The Colts dumped him for Vinatieri after Vanderjagt blew a game-tying field goal in the playoffs, he went to the Cowboys... and then he was just gone. When he left the Colts he had the highest career field goal completion percentage in NFL history and within a year he's just gone from the game.

And people wonder why it's said that kickers have fragile psyches.

He played horrible at Dallas and they had to get rid of him. He just could not get it done at the end of his career.

Vanderjagt had an ESPN 30 for 30 segment over the holidays. The reason he is not kicking anymore is because he does not want to kick anymore in the NFL, he has a son and wants to play the role of father. That's what he says anyways, it was showing him kick, he can still hack it.

I hope we go with Shayne tomorrow, there is no way Billy's calf is close to being 100% yet. Kicking into the end zone every time is nice, but I'll take the kicker without a LEG injury every single day over the one with one that might get us a few more touchbacks (which with the calf injury is not a guarantee either). Also, even though he would never admit it, especially since he has kicked for 3 other teams since then, I'm sure he's motivated to have a good game against his former team.

I would happily give up 5 yards on a kickoff to have a more consitant FG kicker. Cundiff has been abysmal this year. We need to draft a kicker and cut Cundif. He has shown that he has the leg but not the accuracy when it counts.
