On Graham.

First, off we had a lucky win today. I think we played well - overall - in the first half but seriously deflated during the second half. We can't do that. With all the talk going on so far, I think something should be said about our replacement kicker: he did great today insofar as field goals are concerned. He nailed a couple longs ones for us. Had he missed those, man, this could have been a different game. Glad we have him as a replacement.

He's been one of the most accurate kickers over his career, but the one downside is that his kickoffs suck. I think one made it into the end zone today, the other barely made it inside the 5. I'm pretty sure one made it not much past the 15 yard line.

Field goals and point after he was great.
Kick offs he was not good at all. With a returner like Cribbs, that ball needed to be in the end zone at least.
Even hurt Billys kick offs were better than Grahams.

Yea. I thought if he had a good showing the Ravens might place Billy on IR. But with how bad his kickoffs were, there is no way that's happening.

Our special team coverage lacks at times and we can't afford to give teams that easy of a chance.

Please tell me how the win was "lucky". The Browns were FAR luckier to even get back in the game to begin with.

I'll let you look at our stats, both defensively and offensively for the second half. Having looked at this with an open mind, I think you see exactly what I mean. I'm not bashing the Ravens here but I think you'd be seriously mistaken to think that we went out there and played well. I mean, besides what other fans have already mentioned think of what todays commentators were saying "What a bizarre change of events. The Ravens led by 20 at the half and now potentially face losing to the Browns at home." Or something along those lines. It's true...every word of it. We looked like absolutely poo in the second half, and had the Browns not jumped on that 4th and 2, and we were stopped (and with the way were playing offensively in the second it was a good chance that we would have been stopped) the Browns would have had the ball on, what, their 40 with a couple mins. to play. We were looking at possibly another loss to another bad team. So, how you think this WASN'T a lucky win is kind of disconcerting.

I totally agree. I wonder if there is a way to keep Graham for feild goal kicks and Cundiff for kickoffs. Probably not. But, that'd be cool. I've lost a lot of confidence in Cundiff, and I certainly don't think it is all the injury.

It was really the punt return TD that made it close, Koch kind of out kicked his coverage there. In the Arizona game we got ourselves in a big hole because of a punt return TD as well. Can't have that in the playoffs.

also the reason Bengals cut him is because he missed like 2 field goals in the playoffs. He aint clutch he chokes to much when you really need him to get a field goal.

The Browns got back into the game because Cam and Special Teams went to sleep in the second half.

Speaking of kickers, and not trying hijack the thread, did anyone see the piece on Mike Vanderjagt on NFL Network this week? Dude is 41 years old and still can hit from 55 yards out splitting the uprights with an extra 10-15 yards of leg left in the kick.

Would love to have a dominant kicker on the team again.

I still can't figure out what the hell happened to Vanderjagt. The Colts dumped him for Vinatieri after Vanderjagt blew a game-tying field goal in the playoffs, he went to the Cowboys... and then he was just gone. When he left the Colts he had the highest career field goal completion percentage in NFL history and within a year he's just gone from the game.

And people wonder why it's said that kickers have fragile psyches.

When Cundiff was healthy he was booming kickoffs into the stands. I prefer Graham as the place kicker. It's too late when we lose the game.

The interview was really interesting. I have no doubt that he could come back and be a top level kicker in the NFL right now (he's still in shape). But he's never coming back. His son kicks but he doesn't want him to be a kicker in the NFL. As he said, "It's thankless. You can kick 99 in a row and you miss that 1 and they boo you."

I heard that the decision on who is kicking will be made on Saturday or pre-game on Sunday. Let's hope they keep going with Graham, I don't want Cundiff kicking unless he is healthy.

Right now, it's too risky to put an injured Cundiff in the game; I want him 100% healthy or I'll take Graham over Cundiff in the blink.

He was kind of a crappy teammate in Indy from everything Ive heard or read, he was also kind of arrogant. Dude kicked in the CFL two years ago I think for his hometown team.

Yeah, like that one time that Peyton Manning was getting ready to go throw a touchdown pass to Jerry Rice and he had to talk about his kicker who got liquored up and ran his mouth.
