Here We Go...so What Does The Texans Loss Mean For Us?

23 posts in this topic

If the pats lose 1 and we win the next 2 we get the #1 seed again. If we win the next 2 and the pats win out the ravens get #2 seed. If we lose to Cinci and the steelers get the #2 seed, where as if Houston and them had the same record they'd be the 3 seed because they lost to the texans.

Honestly, not much.

The only race that truly matters right now is the one between us and the Steelers. The Texans loss doesn't give us any breathing room to a lose a game. Because if we do lose, the Steelers will probably leap frog us.

Does anybody really believe that the Patriots have a better shot of losing one of their final two HOME games than the Ravens with their games?

Just take care of business. Because the Browns/Bengals could pull a Indy/Texans on us.

Between the Ravens, Patriots, and the Steelers we have the toughest games. We can't depend on them losing, we have to win.

It stays possible for the Ravens to clinch a bye this week. Now we just need to win and have the Steelers lose.

It also increases the chances for the Ravens to jump back into the driver's seat for the #1 seed in the AFC. If we win this week and the Patriots lose, then we could clinch home field next week with just a win.

But yeah, this has no impact on us if we were to lose either of the next two, except if the Steelers lost as well. If the Steelers lost, then the Ravens could afford to lose a game as well and still maintain the #2 seed.

It means what it has always meant. Win out and we're in good shape. Lose and we have to hope other teams stumble. So let's focus on Cleveland.

It just means we move up to #2 potentially assuming we can finish strong. We still can't lose like it has been said or else the Squeelers get ahead of us. I doubt they will lose either of their last two games unless Batch starts. Then there's a chance. I don't think NE will but I'm hopin they lose at least one or inexplicably rest Brady or something lol.

Well it helps us securing a bye week if we win out. Also if the steelers lose one (which is possible w/o big ben) then I think we would clinch it if we won one

It's one of those things that doesn't effect what the Ravens have to do (win out), but it sets up much better in the seeding for us. Most important things it does IMO:

- We beat Cleveland and Pittsburgh loses Saturday then we are not only AFC North champs, but we definitely have a bye and can be no worse than #2 seed

- In the Event NE loses one and we win out and are tied, we win the tiebreaker and are #1 seed. Where as before, if we had the 3-way tie with Texans and Pats the Texans got the #1 seed tiebreaker

Here's a scenario would have me laughing hysterical.

Ravens win, Steelers win, Patriots lose, Broncos win, Raiders lose, Saints win, Cowboys win, and Giants lose.

That would mean the Ravens would go into week 17 as the only team who has not clinched their division yet, but would get home field advantage with a win and no help.

I'm not sure why, but the idea of that happening really tickles my funny bone.

NE already lost to Buffalo once this season and Miami has been playing tough recently. I would be surprised if NE didnt drop one of these two games.

Miami has a shot, I doubt Buffalo will give us a lot of help.

I'll tell you exactly what that means...

It means we have to win out. I don't care who loses and who wins. We control our own destiny. Win out.

I don't think so.

We beat the Texans head-to-head; doesn't that decide the tiebreaker?

head to head doesnt matter in a three way tie. Or at least it doesnt when all three havent played each other

Batch is starting, but man they are playing two of the worst teams. However, St. Louis's D shut down Cincy for most of the game, Cincy only scored because of a punt return and because St. Louis's Offense is simply dreadful.

The main thing the Texans' loss means to me is that they're likely to be one and done in the playoffs , so , assuming we get a bye , we won't be playing them.

Losing Schaub and Leinart both was too much to overcome , apparently , and I doubt if Garcia or Delhomme could turn them around with so little time left , even if they got the chance. Kubiak is saying Yates is still his starter.

If Texans had won out and NE lost one and we won out, putting us in a 3-way tie then Texans would be #1 seed because we never played NE. Without a win over both Texans and NE, head-to-head is thrown out and it would have reverted to Conference record. Now that they lost, it won't matter.

If we win out we dont have to worry about relying on other teams losses. We shouldent have to! We are winners!

Not true ... if we want #1, we need NE to lose at least one. If everyone wins out, best we can get is #2 seed.

im fine with a 2nd seed!
But it would be cool to get a 1 seed!! A bye week is good no matter what!
