Aaron Wilson just said so on Twitter. We really need to get a bye week in the playoffs now.

That is a major bummer. Well at least we are going to see more of the young guys. Perhaps even Doss. Hopefully Evans is ready to step up.

Hopefully two weeks is all. And hopefully we get the bye week for extra rest.

Wonder how much it affected him in SD? Or is this a practice injury.

i remember in the preseason Doss, catching everything thrown to him, his hands had like a gravitational pull that sucked the ball right to him, that was when Torrey was struggling, i wonder if the team will finally activate him and put him out on the field to contribute.

I think this give Doss more PT. I feel he wasn't getting time because him and Quan were basically the same wr minus having proven himself. SOB this pisses me off.

Real talk. It's time for Doss to step up to the plate with those route running skills and big hands.
We shall see. We might just see a lot more of the two TE sets. With one of them in the slot. Which might not be a bad thing.

So Torrey at 1 and Lee at 2? Rice will probably tote the rock 20+ times though, if not more. This sucks.. Hope Boldin is ready to go for the playoffs with no setbacks. Get well soon.

I'm in favor of the Tandon Doss breakout.
yep, the reason he's unactive most of the time cuz we have Boldin in the slot; it's time for Doss to show the world what he's really made of....

Not good at all. As Rotoworld pointed out, considering his injury history, Q may not be at 100% even if the team can secure a bye in the play-offs. We can only hope that the other WRs step up, as well as Joe.

That's what we ultimately wanted on the flanks right now. Torrey and Lee with Boldin in the slot. So instead of Boldin we'll probably just see Pitta/Dickson in the slot. Both guys with good hands. I actually won't mind seeing this combination. But Evans does need to become effective again.

For everboydy clamoring for Doss. I wouldn't get your hopes up. It isn't Automatic Doss will see playing time. There is a chance.

Hold on... I'VE HAD A REVELATION. Maybe this is a good thing, it might force Cams hand to actually start... RUNNING THE BALL

Nah. Cam wants to throw it down field. Boldin being out doesn't change that. It just means there is one less option if the read down field isn't there.

I'm hopeful this is another blessing in disguise for the passing game. When Lee Evans was out for most of the season, it gave Flacco time to get some chemistry going with Torrey Smith and also gave Torrey Smith time to build his confidence. I'm hoping for the same here between Lee Evans and Flacco with Boldin out for a few weeks.

Also, the TE's should be more heavily involved with more 2 TE sets.

*Sidenote*

I also heard a brief mention about the Ravens maybe having some interest in Randy Moss on the radio. I don't believe they would bring anyone in at this point in the season but thought it was worth mentioning.

Thread started about this 1 minute ahead of this one: http://boards.baltimoreravens.com/topic/43867-boldin-out-two-weeks-with-knee-surgery/

Why the hell doesn't Doss get a chance when rookies are contributing all over the NFL?
It more than likely has to do with special teams. Even if he had been active earlier this season, most of the snaps he'd get would be on special teams. I guess he's not doing to impress the coaches in practice.

You guys are forgetting about LaQuan Williams who, if my memory is correct, has seen the field and made a catch or two against Pittsburgh round II.

I am not ruling out Doss but I think LaQuan would probably see the field before him. Who knows with Cam though?

Definitely time for Lee to step up though.

Didn't realize there was already a thread on this so I'm just copying and pasting what I said on the other one. (Call me lazy)

It sucks that it had to happen this way but hopefully this means they have to suit Doss up on game day now. It also makes it ever more important for us to get the wild card bye to rest Boldin, Redding and Ray and no doubt others who aren't 100%.

Ahhh am I the only just slightly excited to see the way this plays out...

Sorry guys but Anquan is inconsistent and when u same Flacco supporters go in threads and bring up that the WR's couldn't get seperation a lot of the time ....Boldin is the guy you guys are indirectly talking about..

He's slow, and hasn't been the possession reciever we would like him to be...more importantly cam hasn't found a way to utilize him properly in his 2 years here..

He looks like a TE lining up wide and I'm pretty sure Pitta and dickson are probably faster than him..

Like I said I'm excited...we'll have 2 speedy targets and lee Evans is more than capable of giving us the output Boldin has..

Of course id like to see him back for the playoffs..he's played well against pitt this year...

This is exactly what I was thinking. As much as I would like to see Doss, history tells us it will be Q2 that they activate.
