#2 Seed is ours. Ravens better wake up and keep it in their grips. I feel like this team would have no problem if need be going into Foxboro and handling its business... LETS GET IT

So if we get the second seed and the Patriots have the first, we get home field throughout the playoffs unless we meet the Patriots? Sorry, not used to being this high in the rankings. I became a fan in 2005.

yea, and if the Patriots lost beefore we see them, and if we're still in it, than it's the same as being the #1 seed

I don't believe we get second seed yet. Since Steelers have a better record against the conference I think they hold onto it. We have 2 more AFC games to go.

Well if the Patriots lose any of these last two games, and we win out, we can still get the first seed can't we?

I am pretty sure we would get it as we would win the AFCN with our tie breakers and two wins over them...all we have to do now is beat the browns and the bungles

Too bad the first tie-breaker is the head-to-head sweep, which the Ravens hold.

If the Ravens end in a four way tie at 12-4 with the Steelers, Patriots, and Texans, the Texans would get home-field, the Ravens second, Patriots third and Steelers fifth.

So home-field isn't completely out of the question right now, we just need the Texans and Patriots to each lose a game and for us to win out.

haha no but isn't this the same reason Texans were ahead of us for a while. We had same record, we beat them in head to head, but they had one more win than us in the AFC (which is first tie breaker).

So how do the Texans get the number 1 seed in that scenario if we beat them as well as the Steelers....

If Pats drop one we can still get it but I'm hoping the team takes this and uses it as motivation for the rest of the season. #2 Is there for the Ravens and they better not drop it.

We are number 2. Have the same record as Houston. Won head to head. Have same record as Steelers. Win head to head. We are two if we win out. Period. Can take 1 if Pats lose.

Now we need to figure out how to play after a plane ride!!

All divisional tiebreakers are settled until there is only at most one team from each division left with the same record. So the Steelers are the first team out in a four way tie.

Then with the three remaining teams (Pats, Ravens, Texans) it goes to head-to-head sweep, but none of them swept the other two, then it goes to conference record, which the Texans would have the best of. The Texans would get the #1 seed.

Then it would go down to the Ravens and Patriots. They didn't play so no head-to-head tiebreaker, they'd have the same conference record and the same common games record. It would go down to Strength of Victory, which I can't guarantee that the Ravens would hold since I haven't done the math, but I can all but guarantee you that the Ravens would win that tiebreaker. The Ravens would get the #2 seed and the Patriots the #3 seed.

actually it only cam down to that because we didn't play the Pats. If we had played the Pats it would of been different. But since we beat both the Texans and Steelers, we get the tie breaker.

Nevermind. It's different for Division rivals than it is AFC rivals.
[/quote]

Correct. We would win the AFC North and Pittsburgh would be second, therefore the highest seed they could get is 5th. If they needed a tiebreak between them and the 6th (which is not likely), they would get it with the better AFC record.

Also, the Steelers and Ravens can't finish worse than the 5th seed, because they're each two games ahead of the only team that can catch them, the Jets and they each hold the tiebreaker over the Jets if they are tied. (Ravens because of head to head and Steelers because of common games.)

Edit, the Bengals can catch either of them, but the Bengals would lose any divisional tiebreaker to either or both teams.

All I know is I think we will see a very serious Ravens team in Cinci if we beat the Browns.
HOPEFULLY the embarrassment Sunday night will be a gut check for this team and their pride.

If we finish with the same record, since they're a divisional opponent , we get the break, since we beat them twice.
