Well first thing is I need to get supporters of change to start supporting a change. Like everyone else I haven't seen a post calling for some wholesale changes coming from you or anyone else.. It's weird-where I live in Baltimore everyone is saying this team is ridiculous and we need to get rid of cam, flacco and the core of 2nd rate receivers and defensive backs we have.. Change is difficult to accept but we all need to embrace change. Latching onto these lower tier players and standing pat isn't working!
If you have read the posts on this board you would have seen that everyone , including me, has been calling for Cam's replacement for the past 2 years. I think he would have been gone if not for this year's union issues.

Also, common business sense should make you realize that the "wholesale" changes you call for would spell disaster for any franchise. You just end up chasing your tail and go nowhere. Look at the skins as an example.

While I agree upgrades are needed at certain positions(ie, WR, DB), those actions need to be implemented in a methodical, sensible manner. To try to just abandon the present for a shot in the dark at the future would be foolish. It's not like these guys are hanging out at the 7 eleven waiting to be picked up and brought to Owings Mills. I trust that Oz and Co. recognize the needs and will address them as they see fit.

And that's the point; Forming a respectable, elite NFL franchise is not an over night occurrence. It takes time and good direction. I think that since Mr. Biscotti has owned the Team we have been headed in the right direction. We should be thankful that someone like him owns the Team and not someone looking for "instant gratification".

I see the talent on this team... I'm a firm believer that talent matches up with any team in the league... Every game, regardless of outcome I sit and scratch my head over Cam's play calling... 3rd and 1, why do you throw the 9 route 40 yards downfield?... Why switch to the pass when the run is definitely working and this is the first series of the game?..

Even when we win, I still sit there wondering what Cam was thinking... I'd rather be lucky than good, but unfortunately Cam's luck is pretty atrocious when it comes to confusing a defense... Finesse doesn't seem to work for this offense... Brute strength, slam them time and time again seems to be what works... Does he even watch the film? Slam them with the run until they have to put 10 men in the box to stop you... Then the quick slants... then the shots downfield... Cam's offense is too predictable...

Count me in as one of those who would not be sad to see Cam Cameron go...

Sheesh and to think some people are happy to watch the others dance-sorry pal I don't live my life in milquetoast land. I live on the cutting edge-making things happen not watching with oblivious indifference.
So you don't watch the Ravens? No television out there where you live on the "cutting edge"? I am curious, what things, exactly, are you making happen with the team? Aside from b*tching on a forum with the rest of us.

Yes, I'd like to know as well. You talk a big game (some may not think so with the way you write, though) and I'd like to know who is the infamous wizard1? We all know who you are, or at least have preconceived notions, but please enlighten us!

I am confused by your last few sentences about the Steelers making it to the Superbowl. From 1933 to 1972, the Steelers only had 1 playoffs appearance and were the worst franchise in all of football. They were garbage and had no real fans.

From 1980 to 2005, the Steelers did not win a superbowl for 25 years. During that time period, they lost multiple AFC championship games at home to the Patriots, Chargers, etc. and even choked away a superbowl against Dallas with Neil's interceptions.

Bill cowher had three straight losing season in his 7,8,9 season and Steelers fans wanted him gone for losing in the playoffs so many times with a home game.

Just because the Steelers have won two superbowls in the last seven years does not mean that they didn't struggle for 25 years before they finally won one.
Bill Cowher finally won a Super Bowl when he had an elite QB. Its a tribute to the guy that he had the success he did with average QB's. You need a lot of pieces, but in todays NFL, without an elite QB, you are not winning Super Bowls.

Ben really wasn't elite(as subjective and overused as that word is) when the Steelers won a Super Bowl under Cowher.

It may be subjective and over-used, but it is at least helpful it delineating between levels of QB's. And Ben had a very good regular season and played, well, elite level QB in the play-offs during that SB run. The SB performance makes everyone forget that he had a lot to do with why they got there. As a long time Steeler fan, I can tell you, there were some great teams under Cowher that never one it because they didn't have the one component...an elite QB.

Unless you are Biscuotti (sp) incognito, I cannot think of any change you could possibly make that would in any way effect the Ravens franchise. If you or any "supporters" or even any vast group together thinks that not buying a jersey, or season tickets or hundreds of jerseys or season tickets makes a bit of difference to the franchise, then you are not living in "milquetoast land" you are firmly in delusionville. well if we win the rest of our remaining 2 games we get the 2nd seed buddy...thats at least one home playoff game. How was the Seattle game Flaccos fault? Do you think we would have beat pittsburgh on a 92 yard drive with Tyrod Taylor. uh no. That was all Flacco. Flacco may not have the stats but this bro is a winner, you monkey. Flacco got us to what in his rookie year and was suprised he got us that far. The playoffs for that matter! The next year Flacco had a leg injury which hurt him but still managed to bring us to the playoffs and then the next year he had his best year yet. I believe in Flacco just like most people on here. I agree on firing Cam but its not Flacco. So in that case... yeah!!!

HaHa I will have you know I am not a monkey-although my wife may not agree with that!

Well that is disheartening to think things will keep going on and on like business as usual. However I believe 100% Joe Flacco will not be a Baltimore Raven next year. Thankfully he will be moving on and relegated to a decent 2nd stringer with some other team. In the meantime I will suffer through this rollercoaster ride like a trooper for the rest of this season but if you think things will remain the same you are in for a wild ride in 2012.

I feel you guys; I gotta tell you though, I've been out of the house for years and I still get phone calls every week reminding me to do the laundry and take out the trash (and for some reason I still get threatened that the truant officer will be paying me a visit if I don't, lol).

Of course he has evidence - haven't you read his post? He's secretly ensconced somewhere up at the Castle, maybe disguised as one of their interns, and has found a way to access all of Ozzie's and Steve's meeting agendas. Either that or he's like Anthony Michael Hall's character on the Dead Zone show - he can "see" into the future.

Contractual obligations? I understand.

Don't you love the anonymity of the internet? You can make all sorts of ludicrous claims and insinuate all sorts of secret knowledge and then hide behind a curtain of obscurity. Or just live on the edge.

I never said that things would go on business as usual. You should read the posts thoroughly before you respond. What I said was that you will not be influencing any changes, regardless as to how you may delude yourself that you are.

Certainly there will be changes, slowly, as with any team. New pieces will be added, old will retire or be released. It definitely will not be the wholesale change that you desire or envision. No team can change that swiftly even if money were no object. There just are not enough good eligible players available to snatch up.

I cannot honestly disagree with your desire. I would enjoy the team being made over from the ground up with nothing but A-1 players, all pro-bowl caliber, all unarguably the very best at their respective positions. Reality, though, must intrude its ugliness, and we must make do with the talent we have. Well, at least here where we normal, "oblivious indifferent" folk live. I am not sure how things work out on "the edge".

Good timing, im on another ravens forum and someone just posted this

Lj smith, former Eagle tight end was with the Ravens for one season. He had a hammy issue, but was well enough to play. Met him and his uncle a year later,
He said " Cameron was the most stubborn OC he had ever seen, he to paraphrase a bit said in essence "uses the same game plan for basically all teams, regardless of strengths or weaknesses or other team adjustments." he said everything has the same timing and tempo. Rarely did the EVEN practice a hurry up offense. All NFL teams self scout themselves to see if they have fallen into predictable tendencies, as do the Ravens. But once it was brought to Cams attention about it the offenses tendencies, he said in essence " I run the offense and we can beat teams if they know what's coming or not." that was bothersome to Saunders and lots of players, Saunders left. Flacco is not fond of Cam, don't be surprised if Zorn will be next OC.good timing, im on another ravens forum and someone just posted this......

This was a shocking/enlightening post. I never knew it was THAT bad...

If you think Joe won't be the starting QB for the Ravens next year, well then, Judas Priest says it best "You Got Another Thing Comin'". Looks like your 'wholesale' changes are going to have to be put on ice. You'll have to 'settle' for this team as you continue to watch games and post.
