A Positive Thing To Take From Last Night's Massacre.

Or, or. The fact that we did not get beat by ourselves, but beaten honestly by another team. A good team.

So at least we've gotten a balance. Just one that lost to a good team.

The Cundiff miss and Rice's dropped pass on 3rd and 2 pretty much summed up that game....

It was just bad overall, but if you're looking for a silver lining I guess you could look at no new injuries and Pagano has tape of an elite passing attack to improve his scheme. I've never seen our D get dominated like that. Every time they sent the RB out wide in motion and the ILB followed him (meaning man coverage) I knew we were gonna get burned. They have some serious work to do if we're going to get past the Wildcard round....

Unfortunately, we'll meet more teams in the mold of the Chargers in the playoffs.

Only positive I noted is a nice return by David Reed.

Positives are D. Reed got a kick return with good yardage & held on to the ball at the end there.....
Rice was having his way with the run game until it became 24-7 in 3rd qtr...
Torrey Smith continues to impress.....
Pitta and Dickson both continue to improve and make great catches ( maybe we will eventually begin to draw up plays for them to exploit the middle of the field )

Although we gave up 6 or 7 sacks, some of them were coverage sacks where the O-line did a great job in protection but ran out of time...
No injuries...
The Live & Learn experience of playing time for J.Smith, whom should become determined to never be embarrassed again ( btw Cary was beaten just as often ) which isn't good.... But it was the Chargers this is what they do go deep!

Michelle Tafoya pointing out at the start of the 3rd quarter what a cry baby whiner Harbaugh is telling her when she talked to him at halftime that the refs needed to start calling holding more on the Chargers...I thought that was a huge positive it surely made the Ravens play a whole helluva a lot better in the 2nd half as you could tell...

"ADJUSTMENTS" thats what this game came down to, its just that simple. That Ravens did not make ANY adjustments and the Chargers did. It was brilliant how the Chargers had TE McMichaels chip blocking Suggs all night. It was brilliant how P. Rivers so single coverage and TRUSTED his receivers to make the PLAY. Flacco DOES NOT believe in his receivers can make the play, so he dumps it off to R. Rice every single play. Thats why Rice leads the league in yards from scrimmage and our WR/TE never have any stats to speak of. Im not knocking Rice, but Flacco has to thrown the ball up like he did in the St. Louis game. JUST THROW THE BALL FLACCO!

For the FIRST time this year WE got beat.. Im def not ashamed to get beat by the Charges in their stadium with their backs up against the wall .. Does it hurt ? ofcourse it does .. But hey we didn't lose to the Cheifs, we didn't lose to Philly, we didn't lose to the Panthers like the other so called "Powerhouses did " We can say we lost to a legit team.. No fairweather fan here I'm still on board with my Boys ! Nothing worth having comes EASY !

Actually the Titans beat us as well. We beat ourselves in the Jags/Seahawks game. Coaching cost us the Jags game and execution costs us the Seahawks game.

The good, watching Antwan Barnes a player I never thought we should have gotten rid of kill our oline on a four man rush. The only good I can think of is most of the blame of these losses can be pinned on Cam. Everyone said move on cause the game was over but had the team taken care of business against the damn Jags and Seattle, the sting of this game would have been a lot less cause we still would have a 1 game lead on NE. Now in a season where the team is playing TERRIBLY on the road we squander home field throughout which was easily attainable.

They're a really good team, how is that relevant to the "whining" discussion? Basically, you're a hypocrite. That's the bottom line. And fans who are hypocrites (Ravens or Steelers) are the most annoying type.

Don't you have to beat the 49ers tonight to say that? Can we call you on your arrogance if you don't?

If we hadn't lost that stupid game to the Jags, we wouldn't have to worry about the Steelers winning out. I think you're jumping the gun a little on the gloating, but please proceed. We need all the bad karma going your way that we can get.

Not trash talking but whats the vibe you're getting about this game with the Niners? I'm not going to lie, I had a bad feeling about this game for a few reasons. One, we've never won 5 in a row in the regular season with Harbaugh, 2 how games played out yestereday(just a lot of upsets) and 3 being Ravens don't usually play good on prime time and doubted we would travel to the West Coast and play well on prime time. I'm sort of relying on the Niners pass rush to get a good hit on Ben and him miss games til the playoffs.

Not sure you can find any positives about last night's game. I love football and watch the whole game but I left the bar in the 4th qtr. It was just an abyssmal game.

Flacco was absolute garbage. He was lobbing balls on the first drive and that play Weddle broke up was embarassing.

Cundiff is a major disappointment. Yeah, it was 3 points in a blowout but at the time, it was an important field goal. I have no faith in the guy.

I missed Reed's return and a positive sign of him holding the ball? Sorry, that's his job. You should not be "nervous" about your return man fumbling.

The defense is a major concern and I hope all the talk of Pagano as a head coach can be stopped. Anyone who thinks he can do it should take a breather and check out exhibit A Tennessee Titans and Exhibit B San Diego Chargers.

Why was Reed and Pollard playing up when they know Rivers like to go deep? Why were we not jamming their receivers?

Sorry, not a single positivve from last night. Football is a team game and no one played well.

I don't mind you when you're not being inflammatory. I understand that you're all excited because we lost, but do you want to be one of those immature fans or do you want to be a Steelers fan that we can respect and talk to? This is why we all had a bad feeling when we lost to the Jags and Seahawks, because the Steelers take care of business. And over the past three seasons we almost never lost to bad teams, and then this season we give up 3 (2 if you don't consider the Titans bad, but they just lost to the Colts...). So just take it easy, we're still trying to live with the idea of sweeping the Steelers and losing the division to them. Believe me, it's something I've been worried about for weeks.

Possibly so. The Steelers certainly control their own destiny at this point. But that doesn't negate his hilarious counter to your attempt at trolling.

Ravens fans....do you feel this is really the last year you have a legitimate shot at a playoff run for awhile? Seems you are close to rebuiding years on D and besides Ray Rice you are inconsistant on offense. Not sure your offense is in a position to win you games without your usual D. The Steelers have a solid up and coming group on both ends with only a few replacements/tweaks needed throughout the next couple years. Thoughts?

Flacco was sacked 5-6 times and he didn't fumble once. Given his fumbling issues this season, that's a huge development.
[/quote]

I'd rather Flacco fumble, where at least the other Ravens have a chance to mask his mistakes by recovering the ball.

When Flacco throws directly to the other team for an interception... the other guys can't do much about that.

Barnes and Gaither showed us that they still got it...

It was really painful to watch,
so Jimmy better have gotten a lot of experience/ humility after this loss.
