It is not just one loss. Thats been used already. If the team had taken care of what it should have in those other "its just 1 loss" games this game would not have mattered. If you can't show up against the Jags and Seahawks away, how do you expect to do this against playoff competition?

But the team has played well against playoff-caliber teams. You won't see many bad teams in the playoffs.

And I know it's a cliche, but every team in the NFL gets paid, too. It's not like a bad team is one completely devoid of talent.

I understand that but then I can say we are inconsistent. To win a SB you need to be consistent either 3 or 4 games in a row. Cam and maybe Harbaugh still don't show the ability to adjust in game which is very frustrating. Also, I was never behind giving Cundiff all that damn money to kick. Sam Koch I didn't mind as much cause of his history but its like Cundiff went the 50 Cent route, got rich and quit trying. How do you miss that fg. People can say what they want but that missed kick had an impact on the game.

here is my take - playoff mean nothing if we lose to Steelers again - and we just gave them the upper hand.

We never got off the beach in SD - walked around like we were on vacation and when we got slapped early on - reacted like we belong in a Southern California state of mind - all is cool - no rush or sense to get urgent - even though the game was ours to take in 1st half. Coach John H gets F for lack of atttiude required by team given this time of year; Coach Cam C gets F - let Joe just hang out be cool, it might come around; Joe Flacco gets F - looks cnfused not cool when he just hangs out (we should have put Tyrod T in after 1st Quarter), that might get him to pay attention and talk to the offensive collection of vacationers so some urgency may have started to creep back into our game. You lost me (great talent - sucky attitudes) guys, all losses (except to Titians) were due to the same reasons and attitudes. signiing off - one very unhappy Raven Fan (think i will go on vacation now - maybe come back after you get your act together.
Gee, this post wasn't very positive.

I think you need to edit your "sign off". Doesn't sound like you are much of a "fan".
None of us are happy, but a true fan sticks with their Team through thick and thin. You sound like a band wagon kind of guy.

Not a lot of positives to draw from last night's game other than we came out healthy. Haloti and Cody had some monster hits. Ummm...... Well, I'm not going to be negative.

But, there's a lot to be positive about moving forward; We are in the tournament and still have a chance at the #2 seed and home Festivus games. We have a good squad that has potential.

Go Niners!!!!

Honestly, this place isn't as bad as I was expecting it to be on a day like today... Or maybe I just got used to it. From what I can see, there hasn't been a single "What about Tyrod?" thread. That would've really set me off. It's just the usual "fire the coaches" posts. Definitely used to that one.

The new Tyrod thread got shut down with the quickness cause of old ones and I'm still down to fire Cam. Oh yea, another "Doubts About Harbaugh" thread was created and YOU'RE OUT. Haha

I would normally take a loss in stride; this is the NFL, you are going to lose some -- you just hope that the losses come at the hands of non-conference opponents.

But it's hard to chill out when you get so thoroughly dominated. It's rare that we get dominated like that; especially our defense.

Suggs stated plain and simple that the team was horrible tonight and need to play better.

That's it. There's nothing to explain and nothing to predict. The team is fine. A couple of bad games don't write the chapter on a season that isn't anywhere near finished. Otherwise, we wouldn't even bother with the postseason and would've just crowned the Packers already for having the best record in the NFL.

Here's the thing: the #1 seed would be a nice luxury -- but if the #1 seed doesn't automatically win the Super Bowl. You still have to play the games.
Yup

Weren't we #1 seed in 06 when we lost... at HOME to Indy? Truth is the better teams usually win games. If we play to our potential and execute when we need to, we will win in the post season.

Better to have this happen now than while were in the playoffs. Now we know our weakness(es), have time to figure things out. No looking back, have to do as much as we can ourselves and see if San Fran can help us out.

I agree. Pagano and the other defensive coaches have an opportunity to gauge how we play against elite passing offenses, which is what we will see in the playoffs and Super Bowl. They will make the necessary adjustments.

Such a disappointing loss. The players have every right to feel down, and none of us should feel sorry for them.

Still, all we can hope for is the better Harbaugh to beat the steelers.

Don't feel confident about this team at all in the playoffs. There is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY we would be able to beat New Orleans, Green Bay, or a hot New England/Cincy/Pitt passing team in the playoffs.

None.

Yesterday's game has shown [s]me[/s] the world as such.

I agree with a lot of you so far. Momentum in a game, let alone a season, is a big deal. We look like a different team if we aren't having fun out on the field. I like to see the defense on the field having a big ol party, and the offense dancing in the end zone.

Precise, and quick release passers throwing to big targets works well against every team in the NFL. Hasselbeck to Britt proved to be an early season Achilles heal for us. Imagine if they still had him! The Texans, and Packers looked a little lost without their leading men too, and their opponents played half as well as the Chargers did last night.

Lastly, the best offense we'd likely to have to beat in the play-offs is New England, and their defense is total garbage.

To your first point, there's always a way...We need to establish a ball-control offense if that's going to happen though, and we can't seem to do so.

Now I bolded Cincy because oh my am I scared about that matchup Week 17 because Dalton has been playing like a veteran, and he will have AJ Green this time around

We were without Webb, and they picked on the Rookie all night. Our D didn't show up. Our Offense was looking good, but better D lost us the game. We sucked last night. But, if Pitsburgh loses, we will be fine. No problems. Besides, San Diego is hot in December. And, if Big Ben actually plays, then it will only be for a Quarter. Justin Smith will clober him. They are nothing without Rottenberger. Were fine, high ankle sprains are Dangerous, he would be stupid to play with one. Now, we need to get Webb back. Our weakness is our secondary without him. We need another physical big corner to play with these recivers. We can't stop physical recivers.

What's the point of Big Physical corners, if we don't even use the way they're suppose to be. I probably saw no press coverage in San Diego. NONE, Nada, heck what's the point of getting these tall strong covers if you put them 10 yards back, 5 yards away from the contact zone. If we're going to play soft coverage, then we better start drafting quick cornerbacks who are good in zone coverage, not tall physical corners, who can even touch their receivers, since they're placed 10 yards back.

IT did not matter if Webb was in there or not...Rivers was firing darts all night and connecting...The secondary was just plain beat.

Which is about as contradictory as it can get...considering the Packers had something like 18/19 guys on IR last year :D

What's up with you guys? We lost a game.. You guys are acting like our season is totally over.

People are making threads about how we can't win the Superbowl.. Trashing John Harbaugh..

You guys have got to get yourselves together. We still have a playoff spot, and if Pitt loses, We'll probably have #2 in the AFC.

Calm down, our season won't be over after Week 16 like 20 other teams.

Just because we are now 10-4, doesn't mean everyone has to stop believing in us.

People are acting like we suck on the road PERIOD. Have you forgotten we beat Pittsburgh in their home field?

I believe our guys are gonna step it up. I have faith that we are gonna be Superbowl champs.

This year all of the Steelers fans are going to be sitting on their couches, watching us in the Superbowl, like we had to do last year.

Remember the Packers last year? Went into the playoffs as a #6 seed and won it all? That could be us.

Just remember.. It could always be worse.

I just hope the lights come back on in this niners game. Leading 6-0 and Ben is hobbling and throwing picks. Go Niners!!!

Obviously a niners win throws a whole new spin onto the remainder of the season. It could be like the SD game never happened! Well, almost.
Ok I hate losing as much as the next person. But in the spirit of the holiday season, I am going to give you some positives! O_o imagine that!

See I am not your neighborhood negative Nancy, why feel down over something that really isn't life or death? The nfl season is a roller coaster ride, like that or not.

So here are your positives for this week.

A.) Clinching a play-off berth is huge. Next on the docket, go San Fran!

B.) Any injuries on the report? Nothing of note? Ok next positive.

C.) Torrey Smith, fast and as explosive as hell. Let them underestimate us in the play-offs!

D.) Marshal, Marshal, Marshal, Collinsworth has a new man-crush.

E.) Time to cut off the ugly fu man chu, my wife truly hates this thing, and it's starting to get cold out-side! So it's officially play-off beard time.

So if you think of any more, hit me back in responses below. Don't agree? Well Happy Holidays to you too.

One more thing....... Ravens were 12-4 when they won the Super Bowl, just saying.

And they did that by keeping the ball out of their QB's hands... just saying.
