Ravens549

A Team Plagued By Its Own Inconsistencies

50 posts in this topic

This team just can't seem to take the next step to be a stellar team.

It makes you really appreciate what we had with the 2000 SB team.

I am so disappointed. I guess we move on and hope next year can give us a better run. Eh?

You know this may be RayRay's last year and we still have a dominant D. I just think our offense needs some changing. Bench Flacco, maybe he could use it to jumpstart his ** because he seems to think that he is untouchable in Baltimore.

I hate to say this being a Miami U fanatic, but I am hoping Ray and Ed retire. Oh the pain!
But I do mean it for the betterment of the team. :(

It's frustrating, every time the Ravens get to the point where they're in the discussion to be the best team in the AFC and they can cement themselves with just one more win, they go out and blow it. And every time it just makes the critics look right (even though those same people don't blast other teams for losing bad).

I personally think this team has the talent of the players. I believe the problems are the strategy and coaching. Cam Cameron, every freaking week I find him more and more predictable, same plays over and over again, conserative. Defense- good scheme that works most of the time yet when it gets out of sink I feel the strategy chokes, unwilling to make a change. I LOVE this team, I am sick of the strategy these coaches try to use when it doesn't work.

Yes. If the Steelers lose. We would be the #2 seed. The head-to-head tiebreaker would apply against the Texans.

Cam Cameron...... toss him and our offense will be better. Cam cost us the Jaguars game and he cost us this game by having Joe throw when Rice was getting good yards, Cam just screwed us of the Top Seed!

Tonight was not Joe's fault. If anything, he and Ray Rice played better than the rest of the team.

This loss is on the defense. 100%. Sure you could argue our O should have put up more points, but our D should not have let the Chargers score on every single drive.

Inconsistencies or injuries. I believe this game would of been different with a 100% Cundiff, Ngata and Webb. We did travel pretty far and it was a huge game for Chargers. They wanted it more. Let's go 12-4. We can still get this Homefield!

Go 9ers!

Yeah dude, great plan! lets bench Flacco, let Tyrod start the rest of the season. That sure would help out this team this far into the season and being about 3 weeks away from playoffs!

I have been one of Flaccos biggest critics but I would say benching him would be catastrophic to our season. He does fumble too often and has confidence issues when he throws pics and tends to hold the ball for too long and stops trusting his instincts. I believe that he has earned his stripes this year with his play even though his stats are not great, he still is far too inconsistent to be an "elite QB".

I would say Flacco is one of the main reasons why we desperately need a home playoff road if we are going to make a deep run. Our secondary was exposed tonight and people are going to air it out forcing us to put up points and we certainly do not do that on the road.

Lastly, my biggest concern on this team right now is Cundiff. Granted the outcome of the game was not effected by yet another missed FG by him but he has been pretty bad this season. If he is injured sign a kicker but there is no reason to keep dressing him when he misses FG's of reasonable length and has a difficult time kicking off. I saw he is in the running for the Pro Bowl with fan votes, I know most people on this board are huge Ravens fans but there is no way that I can vote for him to represent the AFC.

PS - I know Webb's duties were reduced tonight but I have a hard time believing we cannot find someone better to return kicks than Zib's (not named David Reed), what happened to Laquan Williams?

The D did not have a good game but to say Flacco played better than the rest of the team is a bit bold, he held the ball far too long and obviously made some bad throws that tossed any chance of a comeback out the window.

Should have not mailed in that playoff money On the road once again. Swan song for Ray and Ed. End of the road without a Super Bowl. Not happening!

Yes, if the Steelers lose tomorrow we are still eligible for the number 2 seed but I believe we need Houston to lose again next week.

It's just too bad that Ray Lewis will have to retire without another ring, hell it's inexcusable that he only has 1 ring, he should have at least 2 rings and not 1. What's worse is that Reed may retire WITHOUT a ring.

Terrible, and its not their fault at ALL.

The interesting thing about one of the interception Joe threw, in my opinion, wasn't really his fault. His positioning in the pocket and three linemen bunched, to me, looked like he could not see if the linebacker was there or not. Bad spot resulted in bad play. It happens.

Did anyone notice the lack of pass rush tonight? Where was Kruger, McPhee, Suggs, Ngata, I mean what was Chuck thinking??? Did Cam give him a IHOP Menu too?

Funny thing is I should have bet some money when the schedule came out because aside from the Jags game every one I predicted a loss has been. The only one still remaining I also predicted a big L is the one at the Bengals. I'm just saying....

So many hypocrites on here when win a couple straight everyone praises Flacco, the whole team plays like Crap then Flacco gets bashed.

The D played garbage today 0 sacks really.... Im sorry I have to admit I rather see Mcphee or Ellerbe then R. Lewis right now.
Also the receivers were not getting no seperation, what happened to the playcalling ? Im having my doubts of this coaching staff.

We haven't been a complete team under Harbaugh in any of his years. Atleast one part of the team plagued us one year and then we fix it and another thing pops up. This year it's INCONSISTANCY on the road. That's why the first seed was so fital! We had are destiny in our own hands and we blew it.

I felt we would lose this game but I didn't picture it in this manner. To begin with the Offense moving it easily on first 2 possessions but the defense getting owned. Cary and Jimmy both looked like Carr out there....
I just watched this thinking wow. It appears that this is not a Road Warrior type of team this year either.

It's hard to not notice when we had 0 sacks. We had one but Suggs got flagged for a 'head slap'. Now there is the DPOY.

I meant bench Flacco for a game to jumpstart him .. The way he played tonight what harm would Tyrod have done.
