Another Shot At Joe Flacco...this One By Adam Rank

24 posts in this topic

Ok so every week Dave Dameshek and Adam Rank do this video on NFL.com called 'Shek to the Future where they "hop in the Delorean" and pick games as if is Tuesday and the games have been played. I was watching this week's edition and in reference to Dameshek wearing a skinny tie, Adam Rank compared it to the Ravens putting Joe Flacco out there every week saying it's a bad decision. Seriously? It just kinda pissed me off I'm sorry haha. Probably the dumbest comment I've heard in a while. I don't know if this deserves it's own thread so feel free to merge it. Any thoughts?

Then again, so is Adam Rank.

That pretty much sums it up.

Saw it .. but how do you listen to anything that comes out of the mouths of people who think the Steelers-Niners game is going to end in a score of 2-3?

Actually, the first time I ever saw the Shrek to the future segment, I turned the video off as soon as they went "TO THE FUTURE" because I was way to embarrassed for them, so I didn't keep up. The second time was this shot at Joe....I didn't make it as far as I made it the first time. It's sad as hell, really, listening to and putting up with guys like Rank and Dave who could care less about the game itself and just sit there and take shots at those who play it.

People are entitled to their opinions. I don't agree with them in this case, but I won't stop them from expressing what they think. What I HATE about this is how completely out of left field it was. They weren't talking about Joe, they weren't talking about the Ravens, they weren't even talking about football. You know that friend you had in middle school who couldn't win an argument and just ended up shouting "Oh yeah? Well you're UGLY"? That's what this reminds me of. It's petty, pointless, and immature.

That being said, I'm sure even Joe loved that they weren't talking about Tebow.

I don't even know who Dave Dameshek and Adam Rank are, and all I know is that they're not professional NFL QB's, so they're really in no position to talk negatively about one. Just two losers who are fortunate enough to get paid for being idiots. Must be nice, until you meet the wrong fan on the streets. Just saying.

Dave Dameshek is a joke of a radio personality from Pittsburgh, born-and-raised, who became a talk show host in his hometown and has covered the Steelers for some years now.

That's all you need to know about him.

From Merriam-Webster :

rank ( adj. ) : offensively gross or coarse ; foul.

Hensley had this on Flacco today :

"Joe Flacco, who plays tonight at San Diego, is tied with Green Bay's Aaron Rodgers for the most road wins since 2008 with 20. In those victories, Flacco has thrown 23 touchdowns and five interceptions for a 93.8 passer rating."

let's face it! for the most part...the ONLY people that like Joe Flacco (his gameplay as a QB) is the Ravens FO, his team mates and Ravens fans. the reality outside of this organization is that everyone else don't drink purple kool-aid. so, when unexpected or unwarranted cheapshots at Joe are taken it shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone. all Joe has to do is keep stepping his gameplay up as a QB each and every game and keep winning to silence all of his critics.

You don't need to be drinking "purple kool-aid" to admit that Flacco is a talented, and at the very least totally competent NFL QB. He has some devoted haters, that's for sure. But you know what that tells me? Flacco is in the conversation. He's at least in the same class as a lot of good QBs (Romo, Vick, Schaub, and even Rivers). Hasn't won a SB, so there are still the people who want to treat him like he can't get it done, even though he's only tried 3 times and has had the best team in the NFL over his few years right in our division.

Lots of media guys don't watch the Ravens every week. They'll look over the stats and make a judgement about how good a QB is. When you see Joe Flacco's #s they are ugly and it looks like he is having his worst season yet compared to previous seasons and they'll form an opinion on him

However, they don't take into account the many drops that has plagued the offense (including Boldin and Rice) and working with a young reciveing core with a rookie WR who's catching ability was a concern and two second year TEs who barely played last season and are building a repertoire with Joe. It's a work in progress.

It's all about championships and that will shut up the critics. Remember last year Matt Ryan got a nod to Pro Bowl and Aaron Rodgers didn't. How did that work out huh?

Eventually I hope Joe can borrow a quote from the great Patrick Roy and simply says "I can't really hear what [the media] says, because I've got my two [Super Bowl] rings plugging my ears"

the reality is simple imo. cats outside of the Ravens organization dislike Joe's QB abilities. they stress it over and over and over again that they don't know IF they can trust Flacco to get it done when the game is on the line? meaning...in the playoffs! they don't see Joe the way we see Joe.

Lol. I say the same thing every time a new "so and so said blah about whoever" thread pops up. My first reaction is "who the hell is so and so"? I never watch any of the opinion crap, just analysis.

So, basically he's a tool, and we shouldn't pay him any mind.

Dameshek is actually funny in my opinion. And its not like he hides the fact that he is a Steeler homer. Adam Rank however is lucky to have a job. He just sucks. Every video he does is terrible and everyone one of those slideshow lists he does is terrible too.
