willis mcgahee run u over

is there any RB that made our LBs look bad?

watching the ravens/chargers replay only those 2 plays but other than that it was shutdown when LT ran at Ray or Bart Scott

we played alot of workhorse RBs like Larry Johnson,Rudi Johnson,Deuce McAllister,Joseph Addai

and against the Bills it was the only game where willis was truly shutdown just because he couldnt break away from the LBs....the other games were just because DTs and DEs were always in the backfield gangtackling him.

the only RB that can make a case is Travis Henry but Ray was out

Very good Question did anyone rush over 100 yd's on us this past year!?. I know we stopped LT I was at that game he came close but didn't reach it. And I know we stuffed LJ because we crushed KC, I can't think of anyone that may have rushed over 100 yd's on our D except Henry but he doesn't count if Ray wasnt playing.. I keep thinking Rudi may have 1 of the 2 games the Bengal's played us in, and also Tatum Bell but not sure. If anyone know's the answer that would be great because now I'm curious as all hell.

LJ got over 100, 120 to be exact

But most of that was on a big run of 47 yards

Take away that big run and he only averaged 3.3 ypc

But, we won

So it doesn't really matter

New's to me I don't remember KC having any big play's at all I just remember blowing them away and I thought we contained LJ under 100 yd's that whole game hmm I'm wrong bah =/.

Henry was the only one to seem to get yards at will. Tatum/Denver did a good job of getting yards late in the game when they needed them the most.

There wasn't any running backs to make our LBs look bad. I watched the reply they showed today, Game of the Week i think it was. The Chargers play by play man said that Turner made Ray look silly or stupid or something like that. In reality it was just a nice job of using the stiff arm to break from Ray, while Ray just fought off the block. I would hardly say he made Ray look silly.

Another play that the opposing teams play by play man made a big fuss about was the cincy game when Ray got hurt and came back the next play. He tired to stand Rudi Johnson up at the goaline but couldn't. The bottomline is that our D is so good that an average to good play is made out to be great because it's against the best.

It really goes to show that announcers don't care about consistency. If a RB makes a great play once. yes it wwas a nice play but if he's getting stopped and blown back repeatedly by our backers he's not making anyone look silly.

Ray Lewis hit LT like 5 times and he didnt go anywhere

and they make a big deal out of him missin 2 tackles against Turner and LT who he shut down most of the day

Yeah he didn't play in the Tenn game. But nevertheless it's still impressive as a unit..

Scott is getting better and Ray is as good as hes always been, as long as those two stay healthy, I think we will see around the same rushing yard average as we did last year.

we might even beat out minnesota

no LBs are as good as ours but no defensive front is as good as minnesota's against the runs

their DEs are like DTs and there a 4-3 Defense

but Haloti Ngatu and Kelly Gregg are gonna be even better next year so i can see us having the number 1 run defense

cause our LBs are far superior to theirs

same with pittsburgh...the only reason they have a great run defense is because of casey hampton and aaron smith

They have the same DL that gave up 115yards per game on the ground just a year before so forgive me if I don't jump at the chance to give props to a team that just had a good year and has yet to show consistency. When they stop the run at a phenomenal rate compared to Baltimore on a consistent basis then we'll talk.

Plus we have pryce, so we have a great D-Line as well.

Preseason when Chester got to play a bit as good as he was with the Raven's he didn't go anywhere against our D back backwards so if Jamal thinks he is going to plow our D over hes wrong. Chester was a way better back then Lewis the last few years and couldn't do anything why would Jamal even think he can..
