Opening Day 4-Pack, Baltimore Orioles

18 posts in this topic

So, anyone else get their 4-pack? I purchased mine today, 258.00 for lower left field seats and vouchers for 3 other non prime games. So, 8 tickets total for 258.00. Not too bad, Opening Day tix are hard to come by, figured id take advantage of the deal.

One great thing about this year is it's on a Friday, so I can SCHWASTED and not have to go to work the next day! Really excited about this! Usually, during the week...the party dies about 3 hours after the game... Not THIS TIME, WOOT!

I bought a package like that once... we've done nothing that makes me want to do that again. I will not waste that much $$ on this team. I'll go to around 10 games a year, depending how many free tickets I get.

Yea, it's tough man. I get that, basically it comes down to wanting to go to opening day for the party... Lol. The easiest and cheapest way to go is the 4 pack.

I wanna do opening day but with Duquette as GM, I just don't feel like supporting this team financially. He has fired our scouting department and now he has declined a trade that would send Adam Jones to the Braves for Jair Jurrjens (the 25 year old All Star), Martin Prado AND another pitching Prospect. The only reason I can see why this deal wasn't done is maybe Dan didn't think he could get these guys signed long term? If thats not the case, then he is a fool and we are in for another long season.

I wouldn't trade Jones, he's a building block IMO. He, if he so choses would be a cornerstone to our team. He's gotten better each year for awhile now. If we could get Reimold to shine like he did in his rookie season (prior to the achillies) , we'd have a outfiled ( at least with the bats). The only thing I could see , to your point is trading him because of the thought of free agency and not being able to resign him.

We need starting pitching... You see how much better the pen looked after we had some decent pitching ( in spurts)? They ( Bullpen) have been and will continue to be OVERWORKED until we can get a rotation that gives us "quality starts" .

Okay, just saw "Moneyball" (good flick). Quick question, but are the Orioles practicing this method without knowing how to properly utilize it? I am half kidding here, but damn, we spend NO MONEY!!!

I don't have any classes on Friday... that might work.

I'd strongly consider purchasing a similar 4-pack IF the O's sign Fielder... but we all know that's not happening.

That's only partly true... we spend money, but we spend it on the WRONG players.

You say you want a building block and you say we need Starting pitching...what do you think Jair Jurrjens would do?! He is younger than Jones and has accomplished more. And Prado would lock down left field. AJ's contract is up next year so we need to move him soon because i dont see him coming back.

That's my mistake, I was thinking Jurrjens was a bull pen guy. My fault on that, I don't really follow much NL baseball. If we can resign Jones, I say we do that. I honestly think he's as close to a 5 tool guy as we can get ( or six, with blowing bubbles)

Belle wasnt stupid, it was bad luck. Vlad wasnt bad either, IMO. He was semi productive and more consistently on base then most players on the team. I don't really care abOut spending too much... It's not my money and we don't have a salary cap... It makes no difference... My big thing is overall production....

Yeah he is pretty awesome. I would like to keep these guys: Markakis, Hardy, Jones, Wieters, Reynolds. That leaves 2nd, 1st, LF and some starting pitchers.
