I really believed that this game was a Lock, i really did. Not blaming it on the missed FG but it started there, Defense, offense and ST

Well that was foolish of you, I must say. Their offense was always really good, save the turnovers that Philip made early on. And their defense is a fast defense, the kind that always gives us problems. It was an upset waiting to happen

No I agree with you 100% on that. They were awful in the early going. But as they do year after year, they figure out a way to turn it on in December. It's almost wise to forget about their first 12 games and look at the December product as the real team

Back again, the Ravens have a shot to win 5 regular season games in a row.. yet again, a tough team lies ahead.
So.. Do we make it 5 wins in a row? in spite of the devestating injuries from the Dallas game?

Well, we play in the AFCN. Sorry that we dont play in one of the cupcake divisions like the Pats do where it is easy to string up win after win.

We swept the North last year.... 4 games is our max. We're not capable of going "on an extended run" IMO. The AFC North is generally a weak division IMO ( 50 percent of the division is usally under .500). Lets not use that as an excuse.

And Cincy swept the division a couple years ago. Are you really going to try to say that PIT and Cincy have not been tough teams the last few years? The only doormat here is Cleveland

Cincy is only a contender every other year at best. And 50% percent means half the division... Cincy and Clev are generally below .500.. Are they NOT? Of course Pittsburgh is the competition... 4 team division... 2 mediocre teams.. 2 good teams.. 50 PERCENT.

no sleeping on this one San Diego has found their rythm as of late the 4 man rush will have to get the job done secondary will be tested for sure. Jimmy Smith vs Antonio Gates? Ryan Matthews is not just some running back he is a very fast one at that. we need to win this one and the next 2 this team is on a mission.
Why would Jimmy Smith be going against Antonio gates

The same reason that we arbitrarily decided on a five game win streak. And even though it has happened, it doesn't count because one of this games occured in January, not December.

The premise of this thread is just a big LOL

And even Cleveland gives us and Pittsburgh a hard time. They are a better team than their record indicates.

Until this season we had defensive Coordinators that knew how to place the players to show their strengths. Now that Pees is the new DC we are struggling. Harb's has some control over this as he does with the OC but ignores the issues and simply wait to improve the next week but that improvement never comes.

Harb's needs a backbone and either step in to make the needed calls or fire the DC that just is not getting through to the players. The same goes for the OC as well. I do not deny that our Defense and offensive line lacks talent but measures can be taken to stop the bleeding.

C'mon Harbs and get a backbone.

Okay, three teams in our division made the playoffs last season, but our division is weak. Gotcha

Please... just get off [me]. Ever since the Nagta thread you've done you best to get under my skin..

Now.. To address your posts...

Don't act like the AFC North is some special gift to the football world. The Bengals are inconsistent winners.. The Browns are a joke... The Steelers and the Ravens are the class of the North.. the other 2 are mostly pretenders... Also, you brought the AFCEast into the mix.. The Jets have gone as far as we have in the playoffs ( twice) The Pats have been to multiple Super Bowls... So, its seems to me the mix is the same.. 2 good teams ( Pats Jets ) , two crap teams ( Phins and Bills)...

Even "bad" teams have one 5 games in a row.... IN the regular season...
The Bills have done it
The Broncos did it with Kyle Orton
The Jets did it with Sanchez

What, need a tissue?

Why is it such a big milestone to win five games in a row? The Bills, Broncos and Jets have all been inconsistent winners. They haven't enjoyed the success that we've had in the post season. Our record through the past few years is far superior to those teams. What is so important about a five game win streak? I'd love to piece together a long win streak like that but it doesn't matter nearly as much as the record at the end of the season. Those three mediocre teams may have a five game win streak, but they don't have four straight playoff appearances.

By the way, the AFC North is one of the best divisions is football, if not the best. Three teams to the playoffs last year. Three teams out of four. Wow. Impressive, right? Both wildcard spots were AFC North teams. What does that tell you? The division has been won by three different teams in three years. What does that tell you?

Edit: Not that I really care, but it's interesting how I got negged twice for only stating facts here. Did I state any fallacies?

Keep on tooting your horn of homerism... The AFC North isnt anymore special then any other division. I don't really care if you like or dont like the FACT. I don't " need a tissue", I've got Crynismo to sop up my juices.

Yes, we have. However, you naively forget how close some of the games have been. You act like they were all convincing wins which is simply not true. I said Cleveland gives us a hard time, and they do indeed!

Who said that? Not me.. I said we won 9 in a row... nothing more, nothing less.
Since the AFC East was in this thread... The Bills, and Phins have beaten the Pats and Jets... Like I said... Mediocrity.

San Deigo is the most toughest opponent left on our schedule. If we win Sunday night then i believe we win the last 2 games afterwards.
What about the two Steelers games? We already won those, have we? And after those "last two" we have the Broncos, the Giants and the Bengals, none of which are going to be pushovers, the way we have been playing (and with our injuries). Not trying to rain on anyone's parade, but a big ol' storm cloud is coming through Ravensville. Hopefully Harbs get us up to weathering it.

Does anyone remember the shakeup we had when Jim Fassel was the offensive coordinator a few years ago? If my memory serves me correctly, our record was 4-1 at the time when his friend Brian Billick fired Fassel and called the plays for the rest of the year. Our record at the end of the season was 13-3 I think. I'm not suggesting we fire anyone yet but this team needs a shake-up. It may be time to promote Ray Lewis into a Player-Coach if he would accept the position. I see complacency starting to settle in on this team. Several players need to get out of their comfort zone on the team. When Tandon Doss catches a TD pass in a must win and all of the WRs ahead of him on the depth chart are healthy, it should be a wake-up call.

I agree.. most of the adjustments that Harbs talks about, or nuances of the game that could have changed are only addressed AFTER the game.. How about doing it DURING the game. He should have the pulse of the game in clear view.. Not "waiting to see the tape"...

Aww, you need a hug! These big bad internet bullies have you feeling all sensitive cuz they don't agree with you!

Now just curious, why does it matter whether the streak occured in the regular season, postseason, or a mix thereof?
And why five games? Why not four or seven?
