The King

Patriots Vs. Broncos

144 posts in this topic

I have to say that I'm feeling some ambivalence towards this matchup. On the one hand, a Patriots loss gives us a boost in the fight for the top two seeds and a first round bye, not to mention home field advantage in the playoffs. If the playoffs go through The Bank the Ravens become an even tougher out come the postseason.

On the other hand, I dislike the hype surrounding Tim Tebow. His team has won games, but he's getting a lot of credit for it that should be going to his defense and his runningbacks. Not to say he hasn't done enough for his team, because that would be obviously wrong. But he's not the player people make him out to be. I especially resent that his sloppy numbers but winning record earn him a pass as a winner, but Joe Flacco, who has good numbers and has probably forgotten how to lose by this point because he hasn't really needed to know it, is ripped on by a lot of the media.

Is it wrong for me to cheer for the Patriots knowing that their win would hurt my team? Yes. But considering the fact that I have long harbored positive feelings towards New England, from the days prior to the arrival of the Ravens in Baltimore when they were a team I and my father would root for when we got the chance, and that I really want to see Tebow lose badly to someone, I have to say I am thinking about doing it anway.

So who are you guys pulling for in this one?

Broncos 100%...weird that folks would want any other outcome. Taking emotions out of it and looking at it from strictly the Ravens perspective, its a no brainer!

Ya hoping the Pats lose this one. Can't see it any other way myself. Plus I think this whole Tebow thing is entertaining.

Broncos for sure. I want to see the Pats destroyed and the Tebow train keep on rolling. And for the record, even if Denver loses, it does not "restore sanity" or end the Tebow hype. He will still be around, and it certainly wont end the Broncos postseason chances. Get over the jealousy and cheer for the win that makes sense.

Pats losing helps us and hurts the Chargers. I'd like the Chargers to be 'out of it' and demoralized when we play. Besides, I get a kick out the watching the 'creative' ways Denver has been winning. It's like other teams lose their minds in TebowTime. Did you watch the end of that game yesterday? The Bears just handed over the victory.

Yeah. Its got to be unnerving and demoralizing to be against Tebow in the last 4 minutes or so. You freak out trying to figure out what is going to happen.

All I can say is if the Pats lose this game to the Broncos I will believe that a higher power is at work.

- The way the Bears were dismantled at the seams yesterday was beyond head scratching. Look at the facts.Barber runs out of bounds. Barber is a north and south runner, how many times does he even attempt to run outside the box? Why this time?

- Bears defense goes into a deep prevent. Why? Their defense has stopped the Broncos all day long, why switch your defense? It makes Tebow look more competent in the 4th quarter.

- Barber fumbled. Why? Because he was in FG range.
So if the Broncos win this game. I might not become a believer in Tim Tebow. But I will become a believer in a higher power.

Eh, am a long time Patriots hater. However, I also do believe that Tebow is getting a lot of credit that should be shared equally with other members of the Broncos. We don't really NEED the Patriots to lose as long as we take care of business. It does make me chuckle to know that most likely Tebow will face either us or the Steelers for that first playoff game. Should be fun lol

I agree. That's what drives me crazy about the coverage on the Broncos. The defense did its job and then some last night. The O-Line. Where is the love for them. Bears were bringing the blitzes and they were snuffing them.

I actually don't mind the Pats (one of the few). But I will be cheering for Tebow mania this week.

I really couldn't care less as far as our own playoff hopes go. Win out and we're good. But it would be nice to play the Broncos in the playoffs and watch Tebow make a fool of himself while Joe lights up the Broncos and Ray Rice runs wild, just to see the reaction of Skip Bayless.

I can honestly say that I almost want to snuff out Tebow time and batter the Broncos as much as I'd like to see us beat Pit again. Bayless' reaction would be priceless.

There is too much offense on the Patriots side for Tebow to overcome in the last two minutes of the game..the only way the Broncos win is if the Pats defense has an OFF OFF day.

Pats are the best team the Broncos have faced so far. I expect a shootout with Tom Brady and Tebow beause NE's defense is absolutely horrible. High scoring game but Brady pulls it out.

I can't say that it's going to be a shootout. That Pats defense, while they looked suspect yesterday, has been playing a lot better since Haynesworth was removed and they got back in the 3-4. They're good at making a stop when it's absolutely necessary, and are serviceable in the red zone. Tom Brady will put up the points like he always does, and when New England is up 42-0 in the fourth quarter it will be impossible for Tebow to get lucky again. Rarely, if ever, does a Belichick coached team make mistakes like the Bears (and everyone else who have played the Denver Tebows) that cost them the game during the regular season.

Pats D is abysmal!!! They gave up 24 to the Colts and 27 to the Skins in the last two weeks. They are laughable!!!

Yeah it would be funny to watch the Steelers lose to the Broncos in the Wild Card Round lol. Now that would be embarrassing for Steelers fans, watching their team lose to a gimmick offense.

I think I would actually have to root for Tebow in that game, which is a sickening thought.

I'm on the Broncos on this one. I've been vocally anti-Tebow, but at this point it's just funny. Everyone knows he's got tremendous luck on his side, combine that with his evangelicalism and you've got humor my friend! I only root for the Pats when it's against the Jets anyway.

Besides, Brady always gets flags in his favor, so in a way, it's Jesus vs the refs.

lol. Gonna have to take Denver in this one, we should all still want Hou, Pitt, and NE to lose as it gives us the additional room for error, which hopefully we show will not be needed.

Since I nearly always root against the Pats, this is a no-brainer for me. Watching Denver play has been entertaining and if they are able to get into the heads of the Pats as much as they have been in other games this season, they could actually pull this one off.

Go Tebow! lol... I don't think Brady has a great day against this defense... And with the Pats defense so bad, it could be a 100 yrd rushing each day for both Tebow and McGehee...

I love to see Brady cry after a loss...

Look at it this way, if the Broncos go to the playoffs, then we can be the ones to restore sanity and expose Tebow. So lets hope the Pats lose.

I'm not wishing for him to get hurt but I hope someone(preferrably Miller or Dumervil) drops Brady. I just saw the ridiculous call he got when London Fletcher hit him cleanly last week. Unbelievable...

I'm rooting more for the Patriots to lose than for the Broncos to win. If anything, it'll be nice to let Tebow's legend grow and grow in the regular season... only to see him fall flat on his face when he faces a complete team in the playoffs and gets rolled over.

According to NFL Radio the Pats coaching staff will be looking hard at what Tebow and the offense is doing late in the game and try to stop them.
